We just finished a Skype conversation. He uses a skype phone (or internet when available). In USA we only have Skype on PC. I can fix pc, cellphones and other electronic stuff; I can make pizza and cook like chef; I worked in a big store like seller; I have diploma like surveyor and I'm cad dseigner...I'm always in the tecnologies and I never was scared to learn something new...I also made jobs like builder, baby sitter and entertainer. For passion I'm basketball player/coach...what else? ....I forgot, I worked in a telephone customer care.

She bereley come out from a very bad history 14 yrs long with her ex...someone lazy, fatty and rough...they was living with her mom but she kicked him out in november 2007. At the start he was going at her house everyday and everytime I was checking her status and taking care of her with her mom and her brothers but little by little he's going away even if he keep on saying that she's his private business and nobody could stay with her. We had myspace and we hat to erase it cuz he found that out and he started to threthen us overthere...one time happened that he waited her outside of her friend's house and jumped into her car...using knife to force her to come back with him but fortunally nothing happened and from that time I promised myself that I was going to keep on taking care of her...givin her advices and making her think about whatever option.

She's stronger girl and he understood that...and he knows that this is coming from me and I'm very proud of her...together nothing and none could stop us. Yes you can file on the first day, as you will have met in person by then; you can prepare the papers and things (such as birth certs etc) ahead of time. Once you get to the US, you can make a photocopy of your plane ticket, passport stamp, and maybe take a photo or two of you two together as a couple, and then send it all off. For the rest of your stay, keep hotel recipts, take more photos (ideally with friends and family in the photos, that shows that they know and approve of the relationship), for bonafide evidence at the interview.

It bears saying that you do not need to live together/ be in the same hotel room for the "meeting in person" thing. As she is having trouble with her ex, you could always visit as "a friend of her brother", maybe even stay with him and she can visit you, thus the ex won't suspect anything.

Ignore the previous response, obviously you don't need to be married for the K1- quite the opposite!

1. You cannot file before having met in person, you will be denied and that wastes time. If you cannot go to her and she cannot come to Italy, maybe meet in a third country, such as Mexico or Canada?

2. Yes, she is a friend after all Always be truthful to immigration officers (ie if they ask is she your fiancee, say so), but no need to give more info than they ask for; you could also do some sightseeing while there

I never met my girl cuz a lot of reasons but now the time is coming and we are planning about a K-1 visa.

I knew her online and I helped her to come out from a bad story with her ex and little by little we fell in love for each other...is 1yr and half that we are always together online constantly 24/7...spending even the time that we sleep online on camera....so I was thinking that now is the time to meet each other and try to make her my wife if everything when I'll be there, will be good like I think.

What do you mean? You do not have a job or do not have a legal job?

The fact is that you are not the first or the last person to meet his/her significant other via the internet, and feel in love. At this time, you do not qualify for any visa that would allow you to decide to stay if you marry while here. As an Italian citizen, you do have the right to use the VWP, but only to come to visit the US. Using the VWP for immigration purpose is not allowed. If as you say, you have no job in Italy, take a vacation and come see your woman. If she fears her ex-boyfriend, the two of you could meet in another city, or you can stay in a hotel or with friends rather than staying at her house.

Once you've met and spent time together, you can go back to Italy, and she can file a K-1 visa. In less than a year, you will be back here with a visa that is expressley made for the beneficiary to come to the US and marry his/her fiance(e). Do not speculate on what if, and can it be done? There is no visa for what you want to do...come here see if you two are really meant to be together and if so,...to stay.

You actualy have it easy in comparison with some others here....as the VWP is only for select countries. Others, who live in countries that do not have this program, must come up with other alternatives to meet.

I think the OP has already decided that his best option is to come here on VWP and marry his girlfriend, as evidenced by his defensive attitude. He is just looking for validation and acceptance of his decision, though he has been told that is the incorrect and illegal thing to do and other posters have given him options. 1. That would vary with the marriage laws of the state. Many states have a waiting period. My suggestion was that she marry you in your country, in which case your country or local government would be the regulating factor.

2. Using VWP with the intent to "stay there" is fraud.

3. Depends on which type of visa. I think the K-3 is a little faster right now, but you're probably looking at 7-11 months either way. That varies though, so check out the timelines section of this site. If your love is true, it will survive the wait. Thousands of VisaJourney members have survived that wait.
