If you live in Texas, me and another guy here from VJ are planning to write a group letter to Texas Senator this coming summer. The more people join in, the more power and attention our letter would get. Doesn't matter when did you file, as long as there is unequal processing timeline between CSC and VSC, you have the right to complain. We need to get someone to listen to us, then we have to be together in order to open up a commnunication channel. So please, join us. I'd like to join but what is the complain about, Jasminelily? That CSC has a shorter processing time than VSC?
CSC can make the target goal of 6 months but VSC cannot, actually VSC can never. Why the unfair treatment? Who divided the states into processing by CSC and VSC? Is VSC getting lots more cases than VSC and thus caused the delay? Or is it because VSC has less personnels than CSC so even the cases are evenly distributed, VSC is still falling behind? There is no transparency. We need to find out the reasons why VSC is always slower than CSC, then we can fix the inequality problem. They said their customer service is first come first serve, but they can never do what they promised. I have seen people who filed at the same time as me got approved already at CSC, but why am I still waiting? Because I'm at VSC. Heck, even people who filed after me at CSC already got approved, we paid the same amount of application fee, why do they apply after me/us got approve before me/us? Lots of questions need answers. I'm tired of hearing VSC's excuse of I-751 being the low priority cases, so why does CSC treat it as such a high priority and make decisions so fast? USCIS is one government entity, why VSC thinks I-751 is low priority and CSC thinks I-751 is high priority? Anyone else can add in your opinions but my goal of this post is to get people to join us to write a group letter so our voices can be heard and our questions can get answers. I do not want to turn this post into an argument between CSC filers and VSC filers. Thank you!
Oh so in other words, you want transparency of the process in VSC? That is fine, what annoys me is your comparison to CSC when in fact, there are many factors affecting their processing time more than you and I will even know. My question is what is the basis for your comparison, mere timelines? not unless you know the actual number of applications going to each service center, the number of employees working on the case, the burden of proof and time it takes for each adjudicating officer to review and approve a case, the service center's history of backlogs, the history of what caused the backlogs, special cases that need further review, the division of labor, the internal affairs that USCIS will not divulge to public due to national security, everything else is beyond your control. VSC has transferred 80,000 cases to CSC, to ease its load. What else do you want CSC to do? Equality of processing times? Is that what you call fair? So those who applied at CSC should have a longer timeline, to be fair to VSC? Is it fair to call on equality when applicants under CSC's jurisdiction also wait and expect a timely approval? Regardless of how long or short the timeline is, their lives are put on hold too, they are waiting too like you. You have the right to seek answers based on your case, but to wish CSC to have the same processing time as VSC, at this point (when you have a pending case at VSC), is completely selfish in my opinion.

What is your problem. Tell me. No one asked you to jump in unless you applied at texas. I know you removed all your info so that people don't know where you applied etc. Infact you did apply at CSC and now you fear that if people complain or write letter about VSC's inefficiency they will transfer more cases to CSC and your case might get delayed. I think your reply and argument was selfish.
Vermont and Nebraska service center have always been dead slow. The whole point of jasminelily post was to make other folks who filed at VSC to write to their senators/congressman to make the director at VSC have their center work more efficiently. If CSC can do a good job so can anyother service center.
That was the whole point of this thread. But poochie you took it person and turned it to an agrument. Most of the folks here on VJ are fine and don't get into arguments with other. So please try not to do that. I didn't want to reply to your comments but after reading your comments i wanted to reply, to let you know poochie, even if VSC transfers all the cases to CSC your case might be done by that time.
So we all should be sensitive and understanding of others point of view and not to attack others without thinking. I hope you will understand now.

You are not the OP, I have no problems with you. I am completely voicing out my opinion on the OP's view about comparing VSC and CSC, the OP already have spoken, and I also did, we ended it. YOU should be sensitive too how applicants from CSC would feel if their processing will be affected adversely by the OP's petition (they are out there too and being quiet about how this annoys them). Now that I think about it, good luck. I don't care whether my husband filed in CSC or VSC, that was not the point in consideration here. I was just asking what was the basis of the comparison as it is not being realistic. And please, don't talk to me about what VJ is. I have been here longer than I should be.

NO, mistakes, the right name and the right category, INCREDIBLE. I was sure they would f$#@k something up on the actual card and I'd have to file I-90, but seems fine. The only thing I'm pissed about is that there's no Barry Obama among the presidents on the back.

Hi,
I received a blue letter requesting evidence. I sent Joint Checking, Joint Lease Agreement, Utility bills, Insurance records, Joint Tax Returns, 2 affidavits already with the initial application. Does it mean that that was not enough? I don't have any more evidence as we don't have a kid together. Should I just send the same thing all over again?
Also, the envelop they sent to me is too small. What should I do?
Does your evidence cover the span of your marriage up to the present ?

Hello guys:
My husband received the biometric appointment today for May 15th. Unfortunately that day, I will be out of town. I am the US citizen spouse. I understand that I don't have to be present for the biometric appointment, is that right?

I absolutely disagree. I believe in minimum evidence and being to the point. My K1 petition was 16 pages - the citizenship for my wife about 24 pages. I tend to include 'relevant' proof of co-mingled lives like bank statements, credit card statements, insurance and utility bills - I submitted pictures with the Removal of condition to show we have been and are together. I never submitted friends/family statements or magazine subscriptions.
My attitude is quite the reverse - I Assume that I am doing the job of evaluating my application (so the IO is me not a 5-year old unknown) and look for relevant info (and reject irrelevant info like X-mas cards or letters from family/friends). But this is my way and it has worked for me and now my wife's process - her citizenship interview is on Tuesday!
So do what makes you comfortable but don't go for overkill - I would suggest overloading only if they rfe you or ask you to provide more proof - just like I would say - do not use an attorney unless you run into problems - it is the same concept. Good Luck

It sounds like plenty to me. I have about the same sort of evidence, perhaps less but I am still very confident it will be enough. I am also including a few christmas cards and anniversary (1 + 2) cards. Also we are going to a wedding next month so I will include the invitation. I think you will be fine with what you have but it doesn't hurt to have more.
I've read on here people dending 300 pages of evidence which is extreme to the max and completely unecessary.
I can understand what you are saying, but think of IO (Immigration Officer ) as a five year old and then you will understand the whole situation. The more evidence and docs you have the better it for your to avoid getting RFE etc. Please you have file it once, why not do it the right way.
I absolutely disagree! What the adjudicating officer (review and approval of petition is not made by an ordinary immigration officer) needs to see is primary evidence, regardless of the number of pages you submit. If you establish that there were co-mingling of assets, shared financial responsibility and liability, communal residence, among the other important things and that these cover the entire period from your marriage up to the present, you should be fine. I've seen people getting approved with only 50 pages as evidence. It is not the number of pages you submit that will get the AO's nod but the fact that your evidence provided satisfactory grounds to establish that you were accorded permanent residence by virtue of your marriage to the same US citizen and that you entered the marriage in good faith, and not for the purpose of circumventing immigration law.

Hi All,
We are putting together our I-751 packet now, and can officially file May 1st! Getting excited here, and of course a bit anxious to once again be put at the mercy of USCIS. So far, so good though as far as our treatment by USCIS through the K-1 and AOS phases of the process, hoping for smooth sailing through this phase too!
Any advice? Tips? Things to know before filing? Any and all input would be much appreciated.
Not sure if a May 2009 filer topic has been started, if not here we go kids!
I encourage you to join the CSC list after you submitted your I-751, it covers all months and years so you can see the trend, if there's such a thing

Hey friends just wanted to let you know that this morning when i got up i opened my online account and was praying with closed eyes while the internet page was loading ,when i opened the eyes there was a nice surprise on my computer screen for me that the check i sent ot DHS is cashed . Praise the Lord Jesus Christ.

Everything seems to be delayed now with CSC. My husband and I are holding off our travel plans among other things. It sucks!!! I need a drink.

And please, do not insinuate I intentionally removed info or have no timeline , you do not know me or what I am thinking. I'm a USC. Again, I'm all go for making VSC work efficiently (I'm not that mean lol, but I think that focusing on the history of the VSC alone would make for a great petition or letter, that's all I was pointing out.
