  1. This is good, actually way too good. You wont need 80% of those documents.

I know it's good to be prepared but some of these documents you really don't have to take cause they will have it. Specially all the USCIS forms, dont take them, its way too much. They would never ask them plus they also get all USCIS forms previously sent. I know you get really nervous and you want to be prepared, but some of these are just unnecessary.

    :)

    Good luck with your interview.

  2. Hey everyone, I'm back :)

I just wanted to say thank you guys for all the support, the interview was easy but the consul is hard to read.

Like, I got there at 7:30, the appointment was at 7:45. There were 24 people in front of me and we could get in the consulate real fast, i didnt bring any eletronics so I didnt have to wait all the people to go through the metal detector.

    ...

I got upstairs and the lady gave us a list of documents we had to havve, and the right order. Later they call us to the little room and receives all the documents, then the person there gets a big big file, where it has all our documents, since the I-130, he gave me back my photos, the ones I sent with the I-130, but then he saw NVC didnt accept my photos, I guess the background wasn't white enough. But then since a lot of people dont take a perfect photo you can leave the consulate, take the photo (in the same block) and come back, what sucks is that if you do that, the consul starts seeing people who have all the right documents, so if my number is 5 but the person number 6 has all the right things he will go in front of me. One good thing is he said Id have to take another pictures anyway cause I looked different (I lost 15 pounds) :D

So I went there, toook the photos and came back. Then I wwaited for my number to be called. By 11:30am the lady said the consul was gonna stop for now and would be back at 1pm and we would have to leave the building and come back later. So I went outside, ate, went to an internet cafe to talked to my husband, who was dying to hear the news, i told him all the story and went back to the consulate.

There were only 3 people left to be called, including me, and I was the very last one to be called!!!!! Cmon!!!!!!! It was about 2 pm when my number was called. Like I said, the consul asks some questions and you can see he is trying to "read"you. It's weird, he doesnt laugh and doesnt react really to your answers. Since I've been to the US before he asked me a lot about it, but I never stayed illegal.

    These were the questions:

    - Asked for photos

    - How did you meet your husband?

    - When did you decide to get married?

    - So you tried the fiance visa and didnt work? (He thought we had applied for the k1 visa before!! I guess he got confused because it was the K3)

    - What does your husband for work?

    - What visa did you have when you went? (Then he asked a few more questions all visa related)

Ah btw, the interview was all in english, he asked in the beginning "do you speak english?" since I said yes, he went on in english.

So he said "Your visa will be approved, we might do some verification but you will get your passport next week". Like, I really wanted him to say "WELCOME TO AMERICA" hahahahah, is that silly? But I did.

Well, I was kind of affraid of that last "verification" thing, but Im "clean" so I think there wont be any problems. So.....POE June 24th!! Cant wait to see my love! He bought the tickets today! :D

God really made me calm all the time, before and during, I'm really blessed!

Very good luck to all oof you, how awesome will be when all from this topic have their visa approved?!! :)

  4. Hi everyone, i just stopped by to say I was approved!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am exhausted!! In the last 4 days I've been sleeping only 3 hours per day, feels such a relief now! Thank You GOD!!!

I was there by 7:30 am, there were 24 people in front of me in line, so when it was 11:30 am the consul said he was gonna take a break for lunch and would come back only at 1pm. So it was really exhausting, but now it pays off. Later I will give you a full review but for now I need a rest :)

Thank you all for the support and good luck for all of you!

    :)

  5. hey champi and kotana,

    God bless you all!

    :)

  6. 1.

This is not the answer to my question. My question is still open to all. Please help me with the answer.

I got my permanent residency recently (I-751 approved) by marriage to a US citizen. When can i apply for my US citizenship, is it

    1) 3yrs after the day i got my conditional permanent resident card. or

    2) 3yrs from the day i got my permanent resident card. or

    3) Just after 3yrs of my marriage, irrespective of other conditions.

P.S. When you ask 1, 2 or 3, and someone picks 1; that is an answer.

    thank you aaron!

sam, im sorry but you gave a 1 2 3 option, what do you expect?

Would it be any better if I said : 1, 3yrs after the day i got my conditional permanent resident card.

What is the better way to say that? Cmon!

  7. The doctor I went to was super nnice, she was joking saying "So you don't be curious what there is inside this envelope I am going to show it to you", then she showed me all the papers that go inside that envelope and explained to me each item.

I remember there is a question there asking if the doctor thinks we are fake, she can pick yes or no and there is an empty space for them to write more about it.

    So dont say anything wrong!

  8. Hi everyone, I also disappeared for a while after the NVC approval.

First, congrats to GS who is probably busy making up for lost time with her husband, also to Corrine and Princess.

Update on my side - medical passed last week, unfortunately had to pay $200 for HPV vaccine that I didn't necessarily want, but whatever gets me closer to my husband.

Interview in exactly a week from today, now it seems like the days are really flying by. Embassy rep told me to bring only my passport and medical envelope, and nothing else. Now, I have original marriage certificate, birth certificate, police clearance, pictures, phone logs etc, but wonder should I bring it, if they say I don't need it? Well I guess I will bring it and take it out only if they ask.

Good luck to everyone with upcoming interviews and soon this thread will be over because we will all be spending time with our loved ones, rather than discussing visa hold-ups.

I'm 25 and the doctor said it was fine if I didnt take the HPV, the difference is she writes on my medical report saying the vaccine here is not public, I don't know how that makes better, but even the consulate said it's fine if I don't take it.

    Who understands?!

  9. Thank you for all your answers.

So I called the consulate now, and the lady told me they trust what the doctor thinks is good for me, then I asked if I'd having any problem getting the visa if I don't have the HPV vaccine, and she totally said NO, I would not have any problems getting the visa. She even laughed a little bit and said the consul wouldn't deny me a visa because I don't have the vaccine.

So I guess I'm not gonna take it. :)

What I think it happens is this...in the medical report they don't mention which vaccines I've taken or not, they just mention if I'm ok and it's all good with me. I'm guessing.

Of course that can change depending on different consulates. I just wanted to let you know that I'm not taking the vaccine :)

  10. I understand the fact 2 Doctors told you you don't need it. Civil surgeons generally aren't very up to date on constantly changing immigration policies- they don't care if you get your visa or not. All they care about is getting you in and out as fact as possible and the wad of cash you are giving them.

In this case- do you trust the Doctor or USCIS Immigration policy?

Very good point, I think I'm gonna call the consulate first, because I searched online and I saw they have been trying to make that vaccine not mandatory. Maybe they've changed?? I'm hoping.

Oh well, if I have to pay I will pay, that opened my eyes.

  11. Problem getting Visa, Maybe, but if the consulate appointed doctor at the visa medical signs off on the vaccinations, you should have no problem getting visa.

As long as you have a visa the POE WILL NOT give you any problem about vaccinations.

That's true, I think I will ask the doctor when I'm having my medicals if I'd have any problem getting a visa for not taking that vaccine.

Let's say I don't take it, and the consulate asks about it, I could always say the doctor I had the medicals with told me I wouldn't have problems if I didn't take it right?

Well, I still don't know what to do, I'm having my medical next tuesday and I might call the consulate as well and see what they have to say about it.

I'm really tempted in not taking it though, thank you for all your answers. :)

  12. The HPV vaccine is a required vaccination for your age group. It doesn't matter what 'a few doctors' say, it matters what the civil surgeon says who conducts your medical. If he/she says it is required, then it is required.

    Good luck

My doctor did say I didn't have to take it because wouldn't be effective in me, but that was not the case, the doctor in question was the official one, the one that is in the consulate list of official doctors. Not only one, but two of them that I called.

They were like "I recommend you to take it, but if you are short on money no you don't have to"

  13. Ok, so I am 25 and according to CDC I'd have to take the HPV vaccine.

When I called a few doctors here in Brazil they said I'm not obligated to do it, they recommend but said "if you can't afford it now, you don't have to". Which is pretty tempting, since I'm spending soooo soooo much with this whole process. and that vaccine costs about $200 here.

Do you think I'd have any problems getting my visa or problems at POE if I don't have that vaccine?

Thanks for all the support. :)

  14. Hummm, maybe someone from Egypt here in the forum would know better?

I can't tell you 100% sure, but I think it doesn't matter if it's different from what you sent to USCIS, specially because they accept copies and NVC wants the original which is the most important one. But I think it doesn't matter if it's different, as long as it is original. I also think it doesn't matter if it's a different certified translator, because that really can chance.

Your best option in my opinion, would be try to get the original from your husband, and have him get another copy. By the time you are on NVC phase just call them and ask what you should do about it.

Or maybe someone here from egypt knows what you should do more specifically. :)
