    My Wife's Interview

    Congratulations!!

    Last week my wife sent her packet for K-3 visa via Am. express. I wonder how long does it take for the ebmassy to send her the reply and give her the interview date? How long did it take you? And what documents your wife took with her for the interview. I would greatly appreciate your reply. Regards

    By the way she is in Karachi.

    Desi_munda, my wife's case was CR-1 which is different then K-3. I sent all the documents to NVC and they forwarded my file to ISL embassy. You can check my signature for my complete timeline. My wife took our wedding pictures, wedding movie, bank statements, ATM receipts, copies of all the documents I sent to NVC (DS-230, I-864, Brith Cert., Marriage Cert., my employment letter) and orignal police cert.

    was the CO a male or female?

    Did they ask for any documented proof or just these questions?

    Thats great news...hope for us upcoming interviews...no ap!

    L179, the CO was a male. He did not ask for any proofs just these questions and took her medical reports.

    Hey Guys,

    My wife had her interview this morning in Islamabad. Everything went very well MASHA ALLAH. She was asked the following questions

    -How long you have been married?

    -Husband's name?

    -Date of marriage?

    -How did you guys meet?

    -Do you have kids?

    -Where does your husband work in USA?

    -What's his job title?

    -Where do you live in Pakistan?

    -What's your husband's favourite food?

    After all these questions, the CO kept her passport, told her that everything looks fine and she will receive her passport back with the visa within 2 working weeks. He handed her a white paper with AMEX courier information on it. So I guess, no AP?

    If anyone need any help, I will be more then happy to assist.

    Hi everyone,

    I am in the last stage of getting my case complete. Last night I try to sign in to NVC online payment and it gave me the error message about that "your case need no further processing etc". Is that a good sign. and AVR system is telling me that there is a document missing.

    I also called NVC and the operator told me that my wife needs to bring the police certificate at the time of interview. Even though, I have sent the original police certificate with DS-230. I am not sure why NVC asking for police certificate at the interview. Operator also told me that my case will be completed soon. I believe I will be getting an email soon about my case status.

    If anybody likes to comment or have the same situation, please advise.

    SHAM77, I would say just talk to one of the NVC specialists and they should be able to tell you what exactly the status is of your case.

    My I-797 Fiance petition will be expired on Aug 02,2009.I sent out Packet 3.5 on june 16th but no response from the embassy yet.I am still waiting for the interview date.Does anyone know,what happens if your I-797 expires and you still dont have the interview date yet? ....... Thanx

    Omark, the best way to find out is to call embassy in Islamabad and explain them your situation. I am pretty sure they must have some kind of process to deal situation like yours.

    What is exactly required in the 3.5 Package the embassy will be sending my wife in pakistan? I want to get a head start and wanted to know exactly what was required?

    MWA, Packet 3.5 is not sent to the beneficiary anymore. Document processing is done at NVC (National Visa Center) now. You can get more details on NVC's website http://travel.state.gov/visa/visa_4354.html

    Well, my wife will be interviewed on July 7th at Islamabad as well. Did you file I-130 or K-3?

    K3 Filing for me.. did you get the packet?

    Nope, I filed I-130 for my wife and all my document processing was done at NVC and they scheduled the interview for her.

    Case Resumption after RFE?

    I received a RFE for my I-130. The frustrating part was that CSC sent me a RFE after a lapse of six months, whereas they are deciding cases within 6 months. Anyways, It was a minor issue and I replied back the very same day I received the RFE letter. USPS confirms USCIS received the reply on 06-08-2009 at its PO Box. How soon would they resume the case? Is there any way of confirming besides waiting for an online touch or an email from CRIS. Also, i added some more documents as evidence, that I thought would aid in deciding the case in our favor. Was that OK?

    I dont mean to depress you but USCIS RFE takes about a month before they update the case again.

    Hello folks.

    I am looking for a link which lists the documents my wife should take with her to the K3 interview. (I am sure such link exists). If not it would be great if someone could please list the docs she'll need to take..It'll serve as a great checklist... I just want to ensure shes not missing anything!

    I read a lot here about people being stuck in AP, what exactly is it? Does the new law requiring FBI to complete all name checks in six months affect this?

    Hi Rabia, my wife will be going through the interview process in Islamabad on July 7th. I'm scared about this whole admin processing thing as well. As far as I know, the 6 month AP rule only apply to the petitions filed in US (Green card and some naturalization cases). However, from what I've heard ladies rarely get AP which is a good sign in my case and I hope the same for you as well.

    Joint bank account?

    Is there any way for my husband and I to get a joint bank account? He is in Pak and I'm here in states. One where both our checks could be deposited every pay period and where both of us could withdrawl/deposit money? I thought it would look good for the interview or nvc or whatever, but I'm not sure how or which bank or if it's even possible? Please advise!!! Thanks!!!

    ABENITEZ, UBL should be able to open a joint account while you are here and your husband is in Pakistan. Call their NY branch and they should be able to guide you further.
