  1. I applied for AOS on 2007. The last letter I received from USCIS Jan 2009 informed me that my case is still processing. Before this letter, I called them first week of Jan 2009 and I told the customer service rep that it was over a year already since I last received letter from USCIS about my application (Jan 2008). My husband and I had been calling since July 2008 to check my application and they just told us that it was transferred to CSC and processing, told us the same thing we found on the website. I just called and was told it's still processing. What should we do? It's been so long. Do we need to make infopass? With the infopass, will we be able to talk to an immigration officer? Any advice? Thanks

  2. Correct me if I am wrong but you just need to make an infopass appointment and go to get an extension stamp.

If your AOS is still pending, you need to have a stamp anyway which extends your status in the US.

    Hi Lyuba,

I went online to make an infopass appointment but I didn't have any of the requirements they ask to make an appointment,

like court order, letter from USCIS or SR. So I called USCIS told the csr that it had been over a year since I last received a letter from them about

the status of my case. She made a SR for me. She told me if I wouldn't receive any letter from USCIS for 45 days after the SR was made, then

I can go online make an infopass appointment thru the SR# she gave. After few weeks, I received a letter from USCIS updating me

on the status of my I-485 due to the service requested, and that it's still pending in California. How will I get a stamp??? I don't think I can go to the

local office as they said my papers are still in California service center. I feel so fraustrated because it's been 16 months since I submitted my I-485.

    Thanks.

  3. It's been 1 yeah since we have filed I-130. And still no approval.

    #$%^ USCIS and FBI!!!!!!!!!!!

It is absolutely radiculous!!! You have to call to USCIS and request them for the immediate expedite, because you are out of range for waiting. Call right away, speak with the customer service representative and tell them that you must be approved in October 2008!!! Good luck to you!

It makes no sense to call them. They just keep telling us to wait and there is nothing they can do about it. Same response we get form congressman's office. This just a complete bullshit.

You have to call back USCIS and tell the representative that you're case is outside normal processing time and ask for a SERVICE REQUEST on your case. Few weeks after they will notify you the status of your application.

  4. Hi,

My husband got his Green Card in September. We were under the impression that we didn't have to worry about replacing the Social Security card right away because the Green card says you are authorized to work and live in the US on the back. He still has a social security card with the stamp that says it does not authorize you to work, but the GC is what counts. Does anyone know what the truth is?

When I got my SS card that says not authorize to work, the lady told me to go back there when I will have my green card.

I'm still waiting for mine though.

  5. Hi guys,

I'm new to this website my friend recommended this to me. I have some clarifications. I applied for I-485 Oct 2007 but until now it's still pending.

My EAD already expired so I stopped working. A friend said I can file for unemployment because I qualify. If I would file, would this be a conflict

of my I-485 application? I'm worried that filling for unemployment would cause more delay on my I-485.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
