Everything in USCIS can be a mistery.
For example, i never got fingerprinted after i filed the N-400. i wasn't getting an appointment letter so I called and i just asked if it is possible that my biometrics for the 751 are still valid and he said absolutely not because this is a new application and every application requries Biometrics. However, i passed my interview this week without being fingerprinted again...

Hello everyone,
My interview was yesterday in Boston.
Besides that i was really sick with a fever everything elese went well.
I was scheduled for 10:30. I arrived 15 mins early and dropped off my interview letter at one of the windows.
I was called by an young girl at 10:30 sharp for the test.
The test lasted 3 minutes...
It was sooo easy.
First she asked me to read "Washington was the first president." and then to write it down.
Then she asked me 6 questions:
WHo is the father of our country?
When do we vote for a president?
How may voting members are there at the house of reps?
How many years do we vote a rep for?
Who is the chief justice of the Supreme Court?
Name a war that the US fought in the 1900?
I answered correctly on all of them and she told me to go to another room for the interview.
i waited about an hour to be called.
After i was called by a very young girl we went over my paperwork.
She asked me if i wanted to change my name, which by the way i did :-)
Then she asked me if my personal info is still the same and also went through all the standard questions such as "have you been a member of the communist party and such...
After that she asked me about my husband.
She wanted to see the original of our marriage certificate and his naturalization form.
She asked me what i brough in support of our marriage and i listed everything. She didnt wish to see anything. I guess she saw all the paperwork in the folders and that was enough for her.
I had bills, the deed of the house, statements etc but the onle thing she asked after i said i had the deed of our house was "So you own a house together?"
Oh she also asked of he was with me and i said no.
Then she approved me and i had to sigh some forms and i was done.
I had to wait another 20 mins to sign my pictures and receive the oath letter.
My oath is going to be on June 23rd in Lowell MA.
It is almost an hour from where i live and I can't believe i have to go all the way there but... no choice...
So this was it.
I just wanted to share with you.

Please update my timeline.

I saw the expired fingerprints so he said I will send you to the USCIS ASC for fingerprints today so that in 2-3 days he will receive it and schedule me for interview. He said the available interview is on May 28 and in June. He said he will try my best to put me in May schedule just to do the fingerprints yesterday. Unfortunately, all USCIS ASC offices are closed on Monday because they are open on Saturday. I did it today.
Hi,
you said that the IO was going to schedule you for an interview after the FP. What interview? You passed the test correct?
-
Wow i am sorry they didn't approve you.
isn't it funny thou...
they do not schedule you for FP and then they expire....
uhhh i just can't wait for this to be over...
can you please share your interview experience with us?
Thank you,
-
I did the FP April 2008 for the 751.
-
Hello everyone,
i just want to let you know that i got my interview letter without having my Biometrics taken.
i did them last April so i guess they are still valid.
So it is possible.
Good luck

Hi,
i received my interview letter on Friday. i am scheduled for June 3rd.
Can someone update the timeline with myinfo.
i sent my application to the Texas lockbox on 02/26; received 3/02 NOA 3/12 NO FINGERPRINTS APPOINTMENT!!!!!
interview letter received 4/24; interview scheduled for 6/03. Local office is Boston.
Thank you

Hello,
I feel a little better now seeing people getting the yellow letter without getting a FP appointment.
I had my FP taken last April for the 751 and i have not received a FP appointment yet. I was really frustrated and tired of waiting (after waiting 11 months for the 751 to go through) but i guess it may be true that they do not FP you if you have already done it a year or so ago.
This raises a questions though- why pay the fee?
I actually called the national service center to ask about my Fp appointment and i was told that a date has been requested and to just wait. I also asked if it is possible that my FP's from last year to be still valid and the officer said NO, IT IS A NEW APPLICATION THEREFORE NEW FP NEED TO BE TAKEN..... so i dont know who is right and who is wrong....
Please if there are other people in the same situation please share your experiece.
thank you,
-
Wow so you never got fingerprinted. My timeline is similat to yours. I had FP done last april for the I751.
You made me feel better now :-)
Were you wondering why you are not receiving a FP appointment?
-
Fingerprints are valid for 15 months so if you took them for I-751 it is perfectly normal that they don't give you an appointment for that. When the 15 months are up, expect one, unless you already became a citizen.
WHEN I CALLED THE SERVICE SENTER I ASKED THEM IF IT IS REALLY TRUE THAT FINGERPRINTS ARE VALID FOR 15 MONTHS AND THEY SAID NO. THE Y SAID WITH EVERY NEW APPLICATION NEW FP APPOINTMENTS ARE NEEDED....
I AM A LITTLE FRUSTRATED. I AM STILL PATIENT.
-
Hi,
i mailed my application on 2/26 to the texas lockbox and i have not even had the FP appointment yet...
I am even more frustrated than you.....
I called they said the date has been requested and if i don't receive the notice within 30 days i should call back then....
so if I have to wait for an FP appointment for 2 months what about the interview and the oath....
People that applied after me already had thei FP appointments.....
-
Hi,
i am sorry to hear that. it sucks that they will keep you waiting more. Please keep I posted.
i wish you luck
-
Congratulations Jamie,
sound really easy after you pass it but it is a bit nerve racking while you are waiting.
Did you go with your spouse?
-
LOOKING AT THE TIMELINES HERE THE APPONTMENTS ARE WITHIN OR A LITTE BIF OVER A MONTH AFTER THE NOA BUT I AM STILL WAITING FOR MINE. I SENT MY PAPERWORK ON 2/26 RECEIVED NOA ON 3/13 AND STILL WAITING...
-
yes, you will receive another letter for the FP appointment.
-
Are you taking your spouse?
-
is there a lockbox in Vermont?
i thought there were only 2...
-
i called them this morning and the pleasant lady on the phone told me to call back if i dont get a letter by April 2nd becasue they received my paperwork on March 2nd. So within a month one is supposed to get their appointment.
I also told her that i had biometrics taken last April and asked if they may still be valid and she said it is mendatory to go for biometrics again.... so how come some people dont do biometrics again... i dont think the people posting here are making it up and telling everyone they didnt go for a second appointment.
Secondary interview at oath ceremony?

i am pretty sure that this relates to the form you get that advises when and where to appear for the Oath.
there is a second page on this form where you have to answer a few questions right before the Oath (if your Oath is not the same day).
the questions are related to any change of you status in the period from the interview to the Oath. it asks if you have moved, divorced, separated, got arrested...
answering yes to any of these questions will probably lead to a second interview.
when i was done with my interview i was given the form noting where and when to appear for the interview and the woman told me there are a few questions on the back and you have to fill the out the day before the interview and sign your name.
