  1. I guess its weird that before my wife and I got married, we found it fairly easy. We spoke every single day on msn when we were both at home, and if we were not at home we both had blackberry messenger phones and always spoke on that.

We never ran out of things to talk about really.

  2. One thing with the ds-3025, when my medical took place, there was an error on my NHS vaccination record saying that i had only had one MMR and one MR, but now I got it sorted proving that I have had both my MMR jabs and am up to date on the form she did today.

I take it that if I just note that in my cover letter etc then that will all make sense to the person reading it all right?

    Thanks again :)

    Ash

  3. She gave me a copy of what she did, and it looks like I have part 1 completed, which I signed. I also have the sheet with all my vaccine records, and she filled in part 5. She also put the original copies in a sealed envelope saying for USCIS use only.

Thanks everyone, hopefully they wont lose my medical work. How many people get theirs lost? Should I already apply for another copy just in case?

  4. Hey all, I just got back from the medical center as we read on here that before we file for the AOS that we have to get my vaccination records transcribed onto a certain form. I get there, and give them my records, and after a very long wait I am called up, given an eye test (which i thought was weird) and had to give a urine sample.

I am then told that I have to have another medical. I told them that I had already had my medial and didn't require another one, and only needed the form regarding my vaccines.

The very rude Doctor decided she was correct that I HAD to have another medical etc, but I refused to have another one since I was not going to pay any more money on a medical I didn't need.

I left there with only the vaccination part of the I-639 complete. My vaccine records are up to date and I have them all.

Is this all I need to send off? I have never been given a copy of my medical ever, I thought the immigration office already has my medical in that packet I surrendered at my point of entry.

Will the two meet up eventually? I just paid over two hundred pounds in the UK for a medical so I don't want to pay for another.

    Thanks for your help

  5. Hey all! I had my interview yesterday and wanted to tell you all how it went.

First of all, we travelled down to London the day before and stayed at the Marble arch in. Its about a 10 minute walk from the embassy, and isnt hard to find. We got a shower, toilet and bed for £50. Very cheap, but you get what you pay for, or not get if you know what I mean. It wasnt the nicest place ive ever stayed in, but hey, im not fussy and it got the job done. Although I only slept for 2 hours, and then woke up really nervous so spent the night looking out the window!

We also went to snappy snaps at bond street the night before, their photos came out way better than normal snappy snaps photos, and its next door to the bond street station, an easy find.

Anyways, next morning we got up, and headed off to find Gould's pharmacy, which is literally just over from the US Embassy. It was £3 per bag, and also they made you put everything electrical into a sealable bag which was another £3. But £6 was good for secure holding of our stuff while we went in.

Anyways, the appointment was at 9.am and we got to the embassy at about 8.30am. We sat outside and double checked we had everything, and then went to the security post at 8.40am. Haley was with me, and they checked her passport and called through to make sure its OK, then you go into a security building which is like airport security basically. Then we went into the embassy at the side entrance, and got given our number by the lady at the reception. Then you are asked to go upstairs to the left and wait in the waiting area.

Waiting is an understatement. So we were in there by about 8.50am, and didn't see our number called out until over an hour and 45minutes later. We were really nervous at this point, but anyways we went up to the window 14 which is down the hall to the right, and saw a lady there. She seemed really nice, and just made sure we hadn't forgotten anything, luckily we hadn't! She then asked us to pay at the window next to us, which we did and paid $131 (as apparently its cheaper if you pay in dollars). Then back to her at the window, you give her the receipt, and then she hands you your x-rays to keep and a pink form to fill in. The pink form is just your postal details for SMS delivery, so its ready if you get approved. You then go back and take a seat in the waiting area.

At this point I would like you to know that there is a snack bar in the embassy. But it closes at 10am, and doesn't seem to reopen. We had eaten at just before 7am. We then continued to wait until 1.40PM when we were finally called for our interview. Nothing to eat or drink in this time. Thats almost 5 hours since we got to the embassy of basically just waiting. All the N numbers being called will drive you mad!

Anyways, we had a pretty big folder with all the proof in it etc prepared for everything, including a big file of payslips etc to prove our affidavit of support. So yeah, we were finally called at 1.40PM after losing our minds sat there! The nerves soon kicked in though and we went to window 15 to be greeted by a seemingly nice American lady.

    Interview went as follows:

    • get to the window
    • she handed back my birth certificate and some other things
    • she asked if we had both been married before, been in any legal trouble in this or any other country
    • then she typed for a while
    • then I had to raise my right hand and swear an oath that i was telling the truth, and then sign a couple of forms to say that also
    • then she asked how we met, and we explained that briefly
    • then she asked how much time we had spent together, which has been 8 visits
    • then she asked how i proposed, and where
    • the she asked about how i had been funding this all. I have actually been unemployed for a couple of years now, and luckily my savings for my cancelled gap year covered that. (this proves that work has no say in this really)
    • she then asked about Haleys work, and her Dads
    • then she asked when we plan on getting married.
    • She then recapped the 90 days thing etc
    • She then said she was happy to tell us we were APPROVED!!! woo

It took LESS THAN 5 MINUTES!!!!

The funny thing was, she asked for NO PROOF. NONE WHAT SO EVER!!!!!! I'm not even forgetting anything here as it was the first thing we said when we walked away. All the posting on here asking what to take as proof, and she didn't ask for anything!

The other thing about it was that we both agreed on: The way she was speaking to us after I swore the oath was as if she knew she was approving us. She was full of joy etc and seemed like she was just asking us just for her enjoyment! It was so nice to hear though.

All you do then is head back to the waiting, area, go to the back of the room where you pay for postage with their service, and leave to get food!

Job done, and one very happy couple!

Lastly, I would like to thanks MARM for all the help, as you really put my mind at rest on some matters!

  6. I had my medical this afternoon at Bentinck Mansions. Thought id post a little description of what happened.

Its really easy to find, just a few minutes north of bond street station. You just ring the bell, and say that you have an appointment. They tell you to open the door and its the first right door. I got there 10 minutes early, which seemed to annoy the receptionist as she said I was a bit early!

Anyways, I gave her my passport photo, form, passport, vaccination history, and a coversheet/ letter from my cardiologist to explain my idiopathic atrial flutter last year. She then asked me to take a seat, which I did for 10 mins or so, and then she asked me to fill in another form. You just fill in the top half of page one, and then page 3. Its just more detailed than the online one.

I then left it on the side, and waited for quite a while, probably at least 20 mins before I got called in by the first Dr. She took me into a room, and we talked about my vaccination history. My stupid GP here at home seems to have messed up my records, and her cover letter sates i had different jabs to my actual vaccination list, so I have to get that sorted with my GP >< Anyways, I did need a tetanus booster and so I just had that done today. She gave me that there, and then we had a quick talk about my atrial flutter. Took about 10 minutes with her. She seemed nice enough.

I then went to another room with an extremely friendly guy who did the chest xrays, and asked more about my heart etc. Basically you strip down to nothing on your top half, have your arms put in a weird position behind your back while holding something, and put your chest against a plate and take a deep breath. He also took my weight, and then talked about my heart even more. Took 10 mins. Then I went and took a seat in the waiting room for quite a while longer.

After probably about a 30 min wait. Because of all the talk about my heart, i was starting to get really nervous at this point, wondering why it was taking so long. I know theres nothing wrong with it now, but its still scary, but meh.

Anyways, I finally got called in by a foreign sounding lady, who seemed more serious in what she did, but was nice. She started off asking me all the questions i ticked to double check i guess. One of them I was unsure on and we went through that which was fine. We then discussed my heart allot which got me kinda stressed inside. After that, i had to take off my shoes, then have my height taken, then my weight.

Then I had my eyesight done. I had to stand against the bed and read the second line up on the chart. Then she asked me some questions about my vision etc.

Then she pulled a cover around the bed, asked me to strip down to my undies, and get on the bed. She then came, and took my blood pressure. 200/100. Christ! Ah well, she said i seemed really nervous. She listened to my chest as I did some deep breathing. Then she took my blood, that was fine, i don't mine needles. Then she checked in my undies for quite a while. She asked me to cough a whole bunch of times. I figured she was trying to see if it was going to fall off!!! But figured I was deffinately male and it was all attached :jest:. She then told me to get dressed, and lay on the bed for 5 mins. She then took my blood pressure again after that, which had gone right down to like 130 over 80 I think it was. She said its still a little high, but she said it was down to being really nervous. It did take a while in there cause we were talking a while, but then I went out again to the waiting area. I was then called to pay up, and that was that. Took just under 2 hours. Just have the horrible wait till the interview...

  7. As an update, I got my letter regarding the idiopathic atrial flutter. This also includes the release letter from the cardiologist who treated me, and that states that although i understand i could have it again, there is no way of telling if it would happen again, and this means that it will not definitely return etc. basically just explains that it was a random event, and that i was advised to not drink too much alcohol or caffeine, which i don't anyways. It also states how I am normally fit and very active, so hopefully that should be all fine :D.

Ill just try and get a letter regarding my eye sight, as stated in another thread, and hopefully all will be good :D.

  8. Thanks for the reply pushbrk. I believe Haley sent you a PM, so thanks for taking a look. Hopefully this will be the case. I would be slightly annoyed if they did deny me over vision. Ill still get a letter to be on the safe side, but I wont show it, unless they decide its a fail or something.

  9. I'm still going to try and get a letter from a good optician before i go, and explain that i had my eyes tested so many months ago, and then again recently, and it hasn't got any worse, and that i can see fine with both eyes open. Ill probably only show it to them if they ask also.

    Sound like a good plan?

  10. The problem is, mine isnt correctable with glasses. If I wait 18 months i might actually be able to get on a waiting list for an operation with the NHS. But thats probably going to take like 3 years in total, which I dont have. I can see PERFECTLY with my right eye, and both eyes open. But my left eye is pretty blury.

How small were the letters on it? I really hope I don't end up failing now over something like this :(.

    thanks
