  1. Ok..here is the deal...I sent in all the documents including my original birth certificate and marriage certificate to NVC. This morning I get a checklist stating that they need my original birth ceritificate and marriage certificate. What do I do? Did they lose it? I would have to go back to my country in order to make new originals, I am sure they r not going to make another one without my presence! I am so so so stressed....

Any help would be much appreciated!

  2. oh i forgot to mention that you might have sent your birth certificate, or marriage certificate with the I130 and not the documents afterwards so who knows what they might have done with them.. originally i sent a copy of my birth certificate with i130 and not the original, so im not sure if thats why they want it now...

    Thanx Dani,

I had sent my originals with DS230 not I130. However, I found out that they are looking for my mom and dad's birth and marriage certificate, not mine. I had sent in the certified copies since they had told me that was good enough but I guess it is not. Good luck with the process!

1.) Contact your U.S. Senator or Representative. They will have someone specifically assigned to immigration issues in their state offices--don't call the Washington offices; from personal experience, they'll just assign you to the Senator's or Representative's local reps. OR...

    2) Reply to the address where the requested information was supposed to go explaining that you have already submitted the requested documents.

    3) A couple of questions for you: You did send the documents via certified mail, return receipt requested, right? You have the receipt for when they signed for the documents, correct? If you did not do this, they might not have ever received them.

    4) Our I-130 was lost at the Nebraska Service Center. Our Senator's local representative who has an office where we live, contacted CIS via email and, at his urging, CIS searced and found the documents. So, the first suggestion may be the quickest.

    Good luck and take care!

Thanx a lot jsassman! I did send the documents through express mail and they did recieve it. The automatated system even said they had recieved the documents. I am going to wait till monday, talk to someone and findout whats going on. If I don't get it figured out by midday monday I am going to take your advise and call the Senator. How difficult is it to get a hold of someone and explaining the situation?

    Thanx a lot

  6. Do any of you guys know what kind of question they ask at the interview? I am at the final stages of NVC and my mom seems very nervous. I can't even try to console her because I have no idea what they might ask.....any help from someone who has already gone through the process would be much appreciated :)

  7. Hey guys,

NVC is making a complete switch to email for people who had included their email addresses. They sent me my AOS invoice, cover sheet, DS3032 everything in the email. Make sure you call and give them your email addresses. They were telling me they even send the approval letter and appointment letter via email now to save time. I am actually relieved because I was worried the appointment letter wouldn't make it in time for my parents :) Postal service pretty much stinks in Nepal.

Just thought I would share. Sounds like a time saver.... Good luck with your processes!

  8. Ok.......I filed I130 for both mom and dad. Forgot to sign I130 for mom so her process got delayed by a month. Dad's process is almost completed at NVC. Recieved RFE for my original marriage certificate and birth certificate which I intend to send in with my mom's documents. Here is where the problem arises :ranting: My mom's process is completely stuck. It is simply not moving on. I got the approval letter on 17th feb. They have accepted the DS3032 and the AOS bill shows as paid but they haven't mailed me the Invoice Identifcation number or given it to me over the phone. Without that, I don't have the barcode to send any documents. I am getting frustrated because I was really hoping to get the april interview :( I guess I have no choice but to wait as patiently as possible :clock:

Has anyone had luck getting the IIN over the phone lately???

  9. (laughing) I think this dude is still on honeymoon. Probably come up for air soon though.

Can you be more specific? It is better to post questions, then we will try to answer as good as we can.

Well sadly im not on my honeymoon...my wife is in the bandung hospital in Indonesia with a high fever and apendix infection in intensive care...its painful to be so far away from her and see her so ill. she also got a diease from the tap water that was giving her trouble to breath and now she is doing a little better with the antibotics. Thank you for your process example...sounds very helpful. We are looking for any help with the process. I saw you message and brought a tear to my eye knowing people care to spend the time to help us out. This whole process can be stressful but I have many patience from God and I put it into practice everyday. Sorry I might sound a little personal, I am just hurting seeing my wife so ill and apprechate any prayers...

    Hey dyd4u2,

I hope your wife recovers soon and that the process will go fast for you. Hang in there....you will get through!

  10. Okay, We are Finally(!!!!!) ready to finish the NVC process. The DS- 3032 has been received by the NVC and my husband is paying the fee bill on Tuesday. Only bill my husband has received thus far is the IV bill, but everywhere I look on this forum it appears to me that the AOS fee bill is the 1st one to be generaed from NVC- is this just me or should we contact NVC and request for the AOS fee bill? will it be safe to pay the IV bill first?

Also, we are a little old skool  and will not pay those fee´s online but by mail ( I´m big on online banking, but hubby is not and I´m in europe so....lol.)-

Does any of you guys have experince with the time frame for that to go through?? I assume we can still get the IIN number , so we can see when the status will show "paid" - jus curious :)

Thanks in advance. This forum has been amazingly helpful and if it wasnt for visajourney we would´ve been completely lost trying to navigate through USCIS and NVC :)

    Hey,

Your IV bill was generated first because they received your DS3230. Generally people get to pay the AOS bill first because they get the DS3230 form along with the AOS bill.....you should be getting the AOS bill in the mail any day now. It is ok to pay IV bill before AOS bill.

About mailing it instead of doing it online, the process time is the same. They will take anywhere from 3 to 7 days to process the fees after they get it. You would, however, lose few days since the mail needs to get to them.... unless you do the overnight delivery.

    Hope this helps..

  11. Paid IV bill online. Getting ready to mail DS-230 for wife's parents to NVC. Is there anything we need to include besides the 230 itself? I know they ask for medical exam, police cert, etc.. but isn't this stuff presented at the time of the interview?

    Hey timster,

I just sent my DS230 and I included the following documents:

    1. Petitioner's birth certificate + its photocopy

    2. Petitioner's marriage certificate + its photocopy

    3. Beneficiary's birth certificate + its photocopy

    4. Beneficiary's marriage certificate + its photocopy

    5. Beneficiary's police certificate + its photocopy

    6. Beneficiary's copy of passport that includes his/her biographical information

    7. 2 passport size photo

Also, you need to include divorce papers if there are any. You can send in the originals or certified copy for all the documents. NVC will review your packet, keep the photocopies and forward the originals/certified copies to the embassy. The beneficiary will obtain the documents at the time of the interview.

    I hope this helps!

  12. Ok I rushed into sending my DS230 with all my original documents on the 23rd Feb from Australia. I thought I could because I had the cover sheet from the payment of the IV bill and AOS bill. The online instructions give links to the forms and documents needed so I just went ahead and did it.

I just called the NVC and it tells me that they have generated the packet on 10th Feb and it will be sent within the next few weeks, I don;t know why I didn't think to call before I sent my documents :( . So I have been way too early :(

Have I just made a huge mistake and going to have to get all new original documents?

They are ready to accept your DS230 the day the cover sheet is available to print. You are fine..just chill! :D

  13. Did you talk to a live rep or did you just hear the automated messages?

    Diana

I talked to the live rep! They have still not received it :(

Look at my signature for timeline question. Didn't you send the documents with "tracking" or "delivery confirmation" option? I think u'll be ok. Usually, mails don't get lost in US. Good luck.

Note: I don't know, but looking at your timeline for your Mom, it looks like NVC hasn't accepted ur DS-3032, maybe that's why DS230 is not accepted?

I did not send the documents with tracking.....don't ask me why!

I have not send DS3032 for my mom yet...

  14. I have submitted my I864 and DS230. I sent in the I864 about a week before submitting the DS230. The automated system says that some documents are missing and doesn't indicate that it has received my DS230 :( :(. I am starting to panic and was wonderinng how long it takes for them to process these documents.....how do I find out if they have recieved the DS230 package or not?
