  1. Hello Everyone,

My wife came in on the 17th of October and her POE was a non-event. She didn't enjoy the long journey but she is enjoying the little bit of Fall weather that we have left here in the heartland.

Did any of you add your spouse to your existing medical benefits?

My HR is telling me that I don't qualify for a Life Event Change and would not be able to make changes to my coverage in the middle of the year because IRS doesn't consider our situation a Life Changing event. I call BS. I think they just don't want to do the work.

My wife didn't work or had medical coverage in India.

If any of you have any helpful documentations or on line links that would help. Please do share. I would really appreciate the help.

    Thanks once again....

  2. O.M.G. I just spoke to an operator few minutes ago. We scored a June 8 interview at US Embassy in Manila.

I need to postpone my flight so I can be there with my husband during his interview next month. I'm scheduled to visit him in two weeks and was supposed to fly back here in June 7. So that's out of the window now.

I still can't believe it. I can't hardly think right now. I need you to please help us pray that everything will go well, and I'll be able to go back in the states with my husband. Thanks you so much for your support.

bad news everyone, I have an RFE! screwed up on age section. all the places she lived since 16. so just need to get the checklist letter and remailed the DS-230. So close......

I'm sorry Kevin. At least you can fix it right away. Hang in there.

    Congrats Carlish!!!

  3. OMG. It's official! Our case is completed as of today. It's confirmed by the operator!!

We are not going to get a May interview, but there's a possibility that they can give us a June interview. It depends if the Embassy in Manila still has capacity to accommodate a slot for us. If not, early July is fine with us too. Anyway, we will find out for sure in the next few days. The operator said that they normally schedule interviews during the 2nd week of the month. That's next week already. :star:

I'd like to thank you guys for your support, guidance, and encouragement. You made things so much easier when everything seemed so unbearable at times. It has been a short but stressful journey. I lost weight and sleep during this process. I was so worried sick that this journey would never end. But God's will make everything possible. Thank you, thank you so much. You have no idea how happy my husband and I right now. We're almost there. We can almost feel and touch the light at the end of the tunnel. We can't wait to get out of the tunnel completely and enjoy the sun.

So I'm rooting for all of you to be where we are. I hope and pray that you will get your cases completed soon as well. We have gone through this journey together. I will not be completely happy till I know you guys are with your spouses too.

Hang in there guys! You are almost there too! God bless us all! :star:

Congrats Carlish!! best of luck with your interview process!

  6. Well it looks like there won't be an approval for me any time soon. I just spoke with the NVC and have an RFE on the Canadian police certificate. I have absolutely no idea why as I am 100% positive that we got the correct one, so I am without a clue on this one. I guess we'll have to wait for the documents. The thing that really pisses me off is that my husband is on his way here right now, we'll be in California until next Wednesday and he won't be going home until the 11th, so if we do indeed have to get something else, he won't be able to get it until mid month. Crazy. Oh well. Holliday, do you know if your Canadian certificate was accepted yet?

Sorry to hear about your RFE

  7. Some more bad news to add to Carlish's real RFE:

    Ours is real too. :(

The representative that I spoke to was really nice and she said that it had something to do with the police certificate from Italy. So, apparently it was the wrong kind or something. She said to look for the e-mail (that hasn't arrived yet).

I guess the one bright side to this is that it only takes a day to get police certificates in Italy... but if my husband has to send it to me and then I have to send it to NVC... it will take forever, which we obviusly don't have time for. And, I would have to get it translated into English, which will take another week or so. :clock:

So, I am going to call Naples all night tonight starting at 2:30am (east coast time... which is 8:30am Italy time) until I can speak to someone. If they request our case from NVC, then my husband will probably just have to bring the police certificate to the consulate when he goes for the interview instead of wasting all of this time with mailing it back and forth.

Hooray for all of the good news today (in case you couldn't tell, that was completely sarcastic).

Sorry to hear about your RFE. Wish you best of luck with calling the Naples embassy.

  8. I just sent in my I-864 packet this morning. I only submitted a copy of my '08 1040 and W-2 along with last 6 months of pay stubs, job letter and My bank statement.

My plan of attack is to only sent in what documentation NVC requires and nothing more. Lets hope I don't get a RFE.

Chrissy e Ben - I hope your case gets approved soon and your RFE is false.....

Carlish - Best of luck with your RFE.

  9. Hey Fellow DS-230 Wizs,

I was just filling out the DS-230 for wife to sign and mail it back to me.

I needed some guidance and clarification from all you guru's :D regarding if I filled out the appropriate responses to few of the items I listed below:

    12. Your Present Occupation - I put "None" because my wife doesn't work currently and she never had a job before.

    19. Your Children - I put "None" as my wife has no children from me or anyone else.

21a. I put "N/A" because my wife has no children from me or anyone else.

21b. I put "N/A" because my wife has no children from me or anyone else.

    29. I put my (petitioner) address and phone number here. Is that correct?

I really appreciate the help and the support all of you are providing. Its invaluable and much appreciated!

To those of us who still haven't received your NOA2's. I prey that all of you get them soon... Have Faith!! it does wonders

  10. Our DS-3032 and AOS bill were generated yesterday. I emailed the DS-3032 right away from my wife's account and Paid the AOS bill online.... YAY!!. I got an immediate confirmation email from NVC that they received the email.

Here is the odd part, my wife never received her part of the email regarding the DS-3032 being generated. So, I checked my email and noticed that NVC botched her email address. I called them this morning and the lady said that they had my wife's correct email in the system but she did notice that whoever (bozo!!!) sent out the DS-3032 and AOS bill did mistyped my wife's email address. Go figure!!

But everything seems to be peachy now!!! :D

My is waiting is still waiting for her Passport and PCC... So, I'll be stalling for a little while

  11. Congrats carlish and Sombercat!

    Sucks don't it kevin!!

I mailed my AOS off today. Not sure when I'll get the IV bill because I just mailed the DS3032 on Monday. Maybe Wednesday next week. But then I'll be waitin' like Kevin because my husbands police certs and birth cert won't get here until the 8th at the earliest.

Did you also Emailed the DS3032 or not, if you did then it takes 8 to 10 days for them to accept the email.

Also even though my bill is generated and even if I pay it today, I'll have to wait for my wife's passport to come and the for her PCC to come as well.. which she will have to apply once the passport comes... hoping it will happen soon enough before May 10th..

DesiDon... I'm in the same boat as you are. My wife applied for Name Change on her Passport and still waiting... Hoping it will come through soon...

  12. Hey Everyone,

I opened my mailbox today and guess what....... I got my NOA2 hard copy in the mail. I'm on cloud nine!!

My notice date was April fools day LOL!!! How ironic is that :jest:

I wish a speedy process for remaining Feb filers waiting for their NOA2's.

I can't wait to share this news with my wife.... She'll be so excited..........

hi lixer!! Congratulations on your speedy approval!! Best of luck in NVC!!! Can you tell me what was the mailing date on that NOA2 envelop that you got today. It seems to me that they don't have any sequence or order in which they are approving these cases. Well, the best thing is that they are approving!!!!!!! Good luck again!!

    Thanks Rehan!!

It was mailed out on 3rd of April.
