I submitted my passoprt at AMEX yesterday and they said I will receive call within week. Lets see what happens in final step of visa journey.

Its funny that there used be a thread for Islamabad I think two years ago first it was lively then it got to the point where they started cursing eachother so the moderator had to ban those people . I started this thread because I noticed we had no forum for our ISL Embassy specially for AP we were all posting here and there. I am glad we all are togehter encouraging each other in tough times. Hubby got a call today around 1:30pm(PST) from Amex to pick up his passport,he was in islamabad n was leaving for Karachi tomorrow so it was just perfect timing.He picked up his passport around 3:30(PST).Visa was issued on August 3rd as the first lady from DOS told me yesterday so apparently they issue visas even before requesting passport which is great.I dnt know y the operator i got later yesterday told me its pending processing apparently she want me to just hangup as i called at 4:58pm so she just wanted to go home..... Visa expires Feb 10th,2010.

Waiting for approval:We will still talk as he gets mad jealous if i talk to my friends n i luv making him jealous but what abt when ur hubby gets here

is any one else waiting for his wives AP? my wife's interview was on jul 24th and having all the documents and proofs (strong proofs) dont know why they put her under AP.. contacted congress man and state dept. as well but useless.

its been long time. please make special dua for me. i also got a son with my wife in pak. miss them both alot.

is there anything else i should do beside waiting???

Feisal, You are right there will be many people going through AP right now but only way to get to this forum thread is if they look for it we can not find them. I think best way is when people communicate with each other and find out about forum. I guess your interview is coming up too. Good Luck man

I have a question... can I contact DOS to find out if an interview date has been set? Would ISL be able to notify them, or no?

Hopeful786, You need to call NVC for interview date not DOS number which is for AP. NVC number is 603-334-0700.

Ali.. did you guys ask if the case is in washington or what? NO ONE tells me anything.. no matter how much I ask.. last time I had to call a few times to find an operator who would tell me if the case was in final review or not.. just as yes or no.. all I get is, AP pending and it's confidential

Yes, we asked and atleast they told us that case is in washington but they did not tell us anything else. I think does not matter how many times you call them in a day when they complete it thats when they will tell us some thing so its just test of patience.

Yes I was calling the same DOS number and the operator told me that case was forwarded to DC,i researched here on VJ and it looks like all cases go there for name and back ground check.

Reading AP stories here on VJ,I never expected that my hubby would get out of AP soon.Alhamdulilah just one month n 12 days...Even after my husband told me abt this call to submit his passport,I didnt believe him and i was like r u sure its not ur friends or coworkers just playing a joke on you pretending to be some one from USEM.Even yesterday, I call DOS twice and the lady said USEM is requesting his passport and every thing looks very good.So now i believe it is real .... Now just waiting to get his passport back

atk, yes we contacted DOS on thursday and they said case is in Washington, DC and it is pending so lets see what heppens. Hoping for best InshaAllah.

My hubby just got a call from ISL USEM to submit his passport ASAP as his AP is in final review.I cudnt believe him and i thought he was joking . I am so GLAD n Thankful to Allah that it is finally over.

Short but yet painful 1 month n 10 days of AP.

I am glad we have some kind of forum where we can share our situations and take out our furstrations as well. It makes sense what you are saying but thats not how people at embassy look at it. First of all dont be confused by the advices of those people who dont know anything about this process. I personally think you should go with your husband. Regarding your Taxes as long as you or your co-sponsor prove enough income to support total household size they dont care if you make $500 or $50000 a year. I hope your husband will not go through AP but just be prepared because I think 99% of pakistani male go through AP. They do not care if you are pregnant they have to follow their guidelines and if you say something to them it will just make things worse. Just have faith and don't be disappointed. Just a friendly reminder you do not have to provide your personal information like your husband's name and his father's name. GOOD LUCK

Please keep posting even if you receive a call from embassy and you get visa. Just remember your one final post can help many people who are still in a situation where you been before. For sure we will be out of this sooner or later it just matter of time. If you get mad or be patient and wait time will pass with its own pace but if you will be impatient you will just make it more difficult for yourself. No more lectures . Just pray more Allah has final stamp for Visa.

Waiting4approval, I have not heard anything yet. I was thinking to start our own list here to keep track of all Islamabad Embassy AP cases. I know there is one started by "divorced" which is very nice but we can use that as global and ours here as just for ISL. What do you guys think.

I had my wife's IR1 case completed with NVC on 07-10-2009 (Found through NVC Automated system). I called NVC and the nice lady told me that there were no interview dates available at islamabad for the month of August 2009.

They schedule the interviews during the first two weeks of every month for the interviews to be conducted in the following month, so I should call back in the third week of August to find the interview date.

I am surprised, that it will take more than a month just to schedule the interview date. I want to be with her at the interview time but unless I know the date, I cannot plan ahead.

Is anybody out there who had the same experience?

Just be patient and keep calling them. If you have email correspondence with NVC you will have interview letter much sooner by email. What she told you is standard answer. Real painfull process starts after interviwew with AP but I think your wife should not have any problem like that because they are not strict in terms of AP with Female applicants.

My husband just got his interview appointment letter yesterday. On the form it says that he needs to acquire and bring with him at the invertiew the pakistan police certificate. He has already submitted the original polic certificate signed by DIG karachi with Form DS 230. Does anyone have an idea if wats going on with that..because its not easy to get police certificates in pakistan?????????????

I know someone who has same situation. They sent their Police certificate to NVC. They aske to bring police certificate at the interview. Their interview is at the end of July I guess NVC people just lost it. They even called NVC but the rep said they dont have it just bring at the embassy. We have no choice but do it as they say. Yes you are right. We were interviewed by same CO. They did not keep my passport. You think calling DOJ will make any difference. Its not even six weeks yet. I saw another post where someone even contacted their congressman office even that did not make any difference which it used to be the last option. Lets hope and pray that all of us get over with this soon. I will really appreciate if someone receive a phone call from embassy or get the visa please post it here we all will benefit from that otherwise its like they are keepin us in dark. They should have atlease some kind of online or phone status check system.

I guess its price to pay to be Pakistani but Iam still proud to be Pakistani let them check whatever they want to.

Asher thats really good news. I hope others will keep posting like you after getting visa so we all know whats going on. Normally when someone get the visa they forget to come back to VJ. I think just for others help we all should atleast once post our experience after getting visa.
