  1. Hello everyone!

My case has been completed at NVC on 03/05 and I'm hoping for an April interview. How long after they complete it we can get an interview date? I'm anxious about it because I have a k-3 appointment for the 24th but I want the CR1, so if they send the documents to the embassy now, I may be able to switch the visa type, I hope.

    Finally we're getting there!!!

since your case is already complete you don't you contact the embassy so that they can make the switch from a k3 to a cr1? I am not sure how it really works, but i have heard of many cases where they contact their embassy and request the switch. They then contact NVC and request your files.

  2. Has any one who got a case complete this week received an interview date? Just wondering if I can make it.

JUST SPOKE WITH THE NVC AND THE OPERATOR TOLD ME THAT THEY WILL BE SCEDULING INTERVIEWS UNTIL NEXT FRIDAY...SO THERE IS STILL HOPE FOR OTHERS WAITING...THEY SAID THAT THE EMBASSY IN SANTO DOMINGO IS A VERY BUSY EMBASSY SO THAT USALLY TAKES 3 TO 4 MONTHS...JUST THOUGH I'D SHARE THAT WITH YOU GUYS...THERES STILL HOPE FOR THOSE WAITING!!

  3. Hi everyone,

Can anyone PLEASE give me any information on a CR1 Visa?

a CR1 visa is a visa issued to a spouse of an american citizen by which they have less then 2 years married. It's a temporary green card good for only two years, and after the 2 years an I751 (to remove conditions) has to be filed. If the benficiary has been married with the USC for mor then 2 years, a 10 year green card is issued, in which they dont have to file for removal of conditions like for the CR1.

    Hope this helps!!

  4. Is your NVC number the same as your receipt number from uscis or is it different as i am trying to do the shortcut

The NVC number is NOT the same as your receipt number at USCIS. you can call they NVC and follow the prompts and use your receipt number to obtain your NVC case number, which usually starts with the first three symbols of the consulate where the interview is going to be held.

  5. I got my interview date! The automated system wasn't updated because I talked to an operator at 11:30 a.m. and they told me an interview had been scheduled yesterday and the necessary information mailed out. I jumped up and down, screamed, thanked the woman profusely and told her she had just made this the best day of my life, hung up the phone and hysterical laughing turned into hysterical crying. Oh, Allah is good. Thanks for all the support guys!

WOW THAT IS GREAT TO HEAR!! CONGRATULATIONS AND GOOD LUCK ON YOUR INTERVIEW!!!!

  6. Congratulations and good luck!!!

WOW...CONGRATULATIONS...I GUESS I STILL HAVE SOME HOPE THEN CONSIDERING THE FACT THAT MY CASE WAS COMPLETED ON THE 29TH OF JANUARY AS WELL...GOOD LUCK!! :-)

GnL... have you called NVC to schedule an interview?

I HAVE BEEN CALLING THEM SINCE YESTERDAY. TODAY I CALLED THEM TWICE BECAUSE I WAS ANXIOUS TO FIND OUT. ALL THEY TELL ME IS TO CALL NEXT WEEK, BUT IM GOING TO CONTINUE TRYING. I THOUGHT THAT THEY SCHEDULE THE INTERVIEW NOT ME...OR IS THERE SOMETHING THAT I DON'T KNOW???

You have to keep calling. They schedule interviews until tomorrow. They schedule the interviews, there is nothing you can do but call them frequently to check if you have been interviewed. Good Luck!

Thank you. I just called them this morning and still nothing. I guess I will try tomorrow in the evening again since its the last day they schedule. With the embassy in DR being so busy, I feel like I won't get an interview date for March...:-(

  7. Congratulations and good luck!!!

  8. Wow,

    Congratulations to all of you.

I have just called NVC. My case had been completed on January 7, 2009. The interview had not yet scheduled. The operator told me to call back in couple of weeks to hear the March schedule.

How can you guys went in so quick?

I am happy for you guys. Hopefully, we will get something soon because it is closing to eight weeks.

CONGRATS TO ALL OF YOU...STILL WAITING :(:(:(

  9. #unable to fulfill the financial requirement #

she was able to on the years before its just last years when she did not earn nothing when things changed with illness and lied off work etc

i heard that i could use the wifes daughter as a sponser as well as she lives with us is that true ??

Dont'quote me on this, but i believe you dont have to use last years (2008) tax returns as of yet. For many, their latest tax return is 2007 and that is what they use. I think that if you submit the AOS after the 15th of April which is the dealine to file taxes, then you have to submit 2008. Call the nvc and see what they tell you (603-334-0700) Keep in mind that with the new year, poverty guidlines will increase in 2009. hope this helps!! :-)

  10. my LPR husband filed I-130 at CSC for me and to our 2 kids with PD january 2005. we got approved october 2008 and received a letter from NVC that our case was send to them by USCIS aside from this letter until now we didn't hear anything from them. when do we expect further progress of our case or when do we expect another letter from NVC. Is there anyone with the same PD or situation like ours? please share your experience and timelines. thank you!

CALL THE NVC AT 603-334-0700. IF YOU DON'T HAVE YOUR NEW NVC CASE NUMBER THEN YOU CAN USE YOUR USCIS CASE NUMBER TO FIND OUT THE STATUS. FROM WHAT I KNOW RIGHT NOW THERE ARE SOME CASES THAT HAVE BEEN SENT TO THE NVC, BUT THAT ARE NOT CURRENT, AND THERE ARE NO VISA NUMBERS AVAILBALE FOR THEM, SO THEY ARE BEING DETAINED THERE UNTIL A NUMBER BECOMES AVAILABLE. YOUR BEST BET IS JUST TO CALL THE NVC AND SPEAK TO AN OPERATOR THAT WILL BE ABLE TO TELL YOU THE EXACT STATUS OF YOUR CASE.

HOPE THIS HELPS AND GOOD LUCK!!

  11. we sent the DS-3032 by email on 31th Jan (for my son's visa) , but we have not got the auto respond, dont know if the NVC get it or not? do we need to try it again? how long will it take to get auto respond and how long will it take for them to put the choice of agent in the system?

any reply will be appreciated :star:

Sometimes it can take the NVC up to 2 weeks to respond from an email...or so i have heard...When i sent my husbands I emailed it twice and received automated reponses a week later. As good measure I also sent the DS-3032 via regular mail.

    Hope this helps!

  12. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT IS THE LINK OR SITE THAT EXPLAIN ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO PAY THE AOS AND INSTRUCTION ON WHAT IS NEED WITH THE AOS FORM AND THE FORMS THAT THE OVERSEAS PERSON WILL RECEIVE. I CAN'T REMEMBER THE LINK OR SITE THAT EXPLAIN AND GIVE INSTRUCTION ON THE AOS, I KNOW THAT IT IS NOT THE NVC SITE IT IS SOMETHING ELSE, I HOPE SOMEONE KNOWS WHAT I'M TRYING TO FIND :help::help:

I see from your timeline that you have paid the AOS fee already. If you did that through the web on https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx then you should have been able to print the cover sheet that goes along with the documents you need to send with the I-864. In order to have acces to this page you need to have your invoice identification number, and if you don't have it call the NVC at 603-334-0700. The overseas person will not receive the I-864 requirements, since its the petitioner's job and/or the sponsor. The Beneficiary will have to get the documents together for the DS-230. the following link can assist in letting you know what type of documents it is that you need. They helped me alot when i was confused.

it is always good to get information directly from the U.S. Department of State which is the following web site.

  13. First he gets a conditional greencard if you were married less than 2 years. Then you apply to remove conditions. Then after he's a resident for 3 years total, if he's still married to you, he can apply for citizenship. If he's not married to a USC then it's 5 years after he's a resident.

SO THE 3 YEARS INCLUDES THE 2 YEARS HES GOING TO ALREADY HAVE WITH HIS CONDITIONAL GREEN CARD?? SO AFTER WE FILE I-751 IT'S ONLY A YEAR BEFORE HE CAN FILE FOR CITIZENSHIP??

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR REPLIES!!

Three years from the time his conditional residence status is granted. Five years if he's no longer married to you.

    THANK YOU!
