  1. Every time I called USCIS to get my case status,a service request was placed and I never received a response after that.I was pretty frustated so I called this time and when the guy said I will do another service request I told him that It doesn't help at all,he suggested to get an appiontment and I did.I just saw today that my case was touched yesterday so should I cancel my infopass and give it a couple of weeks to see if it gets approved. Also does infopass appointment help or its just a waste of time like calling USCIS.Does any one have experience of infopass at NYC,how long you have to wait for your turn on average.

    Thanks for sharing........

woow, i feel your pain--- i am in the same boat, we got married in 2006, had to wait for the first interview for almost 1 and a half years, then for 6 months and no response, called senator's office and still no response. called the 1800 # and made numerous service requests!!! still nothing, worst of all went for an infopass and the lady couldnt tell me anything. stay encouraged, alot of other folks are waiting!!!!!!!!!!!1

  2. With my experience, the IO didnt get my EAD too, what he took from me was my I94.

Did he let you sign some papers?

    a. reminder about the I751 that we have to do it 90days before its expiration and that they wont remind us again.

    b. its like a waiver saying you are not involve in any terrorism or other things and all....

i guess those are indication that you were approved. so even if he didnt verbally say it getting the I94 and letting you sign the reminder would mean you are good to go...

also i received my Welcome Letter 5days after the interview.

so i think you can make an infopass already....

i hope the info somehow would help.

    Hello,

You may have to wait alittle while before you do anything. After my first AOS, i waited 6 months before anything. The IO said that everything was ok, and if she needed anything else, they would request it by mail. She never took my EAD either. However, i was called for a second one and this time the IO took the I94 (hopefully that is a good sign) with no verbal approval...i just have to wait.....

  3. ShaSha and I had her AOS interview on Feb 9th and it was approved. How long did it take everyone to receive the green card in the mail after the AOS interview? We have plane tickets to fly to the Philippines on March 8th.

UPDATE: Well everyone the green card arrived today. Interview was Feb 9th so only took 12 days for the GC to arrive, we are so happy because we already have plane tickets to fly to the Philippines on March 8th. Its going to be great because her family doesnt even know we are coming, we are going to just show up and knock on the door so cant wait to see shock when they open the door.

Goodluck to all who are still waiting.

well congrats, we had ours on the 17th, we hope to hear something soon.

  4. We went for the interview and yes we were separated, -- we had a few discrepancies but the IO did nt bring us back to the office to clarrify anything, she took my I-94 and give me back the passport. She didnt say whether the case was approved or not.

What king of questions did they ask you?

Were there major or minor discrepancies?

    Hope you were approved

I didnt think they were major discrepancies, just not sure what to make of it....... Is it a good thing when they take your I-94?

  5. I stumbled on your forum while searching answers to my question. We had our interview at the beginning of this Month in Baltimore. Everything seemed to go well with my hubby's I-94 taken away during the interview. Today we got a letter requesting us to come for another interview. It simply tells us to ask for the officer in question and that hubby has to bring his passport with him. The reason for the appointment states :Form I-130. There is also an attachment with all the things needed as evidence of a good faith marriage. What could this mean? Please help... :help: :help: :help: :help: :help::wacko:

    Hello,

I saw your blog that you were called for a second interview in baltimore, I was wondering if you would share it with me, i realise that was awhile back, I have a second one tomorrow and we dont know what to expect. The officer gave us the impression that everything was ok with our first one. Please let me know how the experience was

    Thanks

  6. Hello,

I just wanted to find out if there is anyone out there who can remember the specific questions that they were asked when they were separated at the interview. I am compiling a series of questions in preparation for my interview. Also, i am interviewing at tthe baltimore office and my interview letter says that we will be interviewing with Officer Z, is that bad or good.

    Anyone please share

    Thanks

    Google "Stokes Interview".

    Thanks

can anyone with similar experience share-- thanks

  7. ...and she said it happens all the time. I've done some research and Ghana has some of the longest waits for interviews but then others who have done research say it's odd that I've waited more than a month (these are Ghana filers). The NVC automated line asks you to talk to an operator if it has been more than eight weeks. The operator just gives you the same tired, scripted response that they schedule interviews based on embassy capacity blah blah blah. I suppose I just want to rant. But anywhoo....anyone been waiting more than eight weeks? What steps did you take to get scheduled? Allah be praised if we're scheduled this week, we've been waiting so looong.

I waited for a year before i got anything.......................

  9. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Hi Alexandria. A friend of mine that I was referred to had they 2nd interview yeasterday in Baltimore. They were interviewd separately. They were asked a lot of personal questions, like what they did last week, who visited them, who cook meal and more... If I were you you, try to be familiarized with individuals habits and other some basic things in your household and sit down with your husband and go through with it, and also bring more proof that you can get. she said the IO was nice and asked her more questions than her husband(USC). You will be fine, just have faith in yourself.

Thanks Lucille, did she tell them that they passed after the interview?

  10. Hello,

I need some help here. I am going for a second interview on the 17th of Feb, in Baltimore. We had our first interview on sep 2nd on 2008. The lady was friendly and professional. She asked as general questions like date of births, how we met, Where do we work? We had common proof like bank account, car insurance, health insurance, . We also had a photo album that she didnt even ask to see. She said that we would hear from the shortly. This took 10 minutes.

In jan, we found out that we were going for a second interview? How anyone experienced a second interview?

    Please help!

I have heard from a couple of sources that they have been calling severl people for second interviews at the Baltimore office.

Thanks-- i have heard the same from other people. Still the idea of another interview is really fustrating!!!

I was not approved during our interview. The officer had his mind set not to approve us that day. I had all the documents you can possibly imagine, but he was looking for something to call us back in for a second time. So he asked for additional bank statements from the account I had in my name only, the one which all our bills were being paid from. He also asked for letters from people attesting to our marriage. He handed me an RFE and said that he would call us back in after I mailed him the docs.

So about 1 week after I mailed the documents, he sent us another appointment letter. This time no questions asked. He just said I gave him everything he needed and more (sent him 4 letters from different people, including our next door neighbor who happens to be a sheriff). So he just stamped my passport, gave us instructions for filing I-751 and that was that.

So this is what I tell you.. if you have nothing to fear.. don't worry. If all your documents are up to date and your marriage is legitimate, which I am sure it is.. then don't worry. Just bring everything you guys have together and go for it.

Make sure you also bring your valid passport, I-94s, AP, and work permit (they will stamp your passport and collect the others from you).

Best of luck, let us know what happens.

    Thanks for sharing your experience!
