  1. My wife already had a medical exam done in May so we are still good as far as the year thing goes. We are filing our AOS. She has all her vaccinations and everything. But there's one CS in our town and he told us he's not going to just sign it that he wants to do the whole thing physical, bloodwork, and everything. And we don't need it done but he refuses to just 'sign' the thing. What should we do?

i have posted an alternate source document that may help you explain to the CS what pages of the I-693 are nessesary for your situation, but Vanessa & Tony indicate that i post it too often. Perhaps you will find it somewhere in the AOS forum. I would think it might help as the intructions on the I-693 may be ambiguous to some SC. Good luck

Here is what I think most people and Civil Surgeons are missing. If you follow the link above to USCIS for the Q + A on TB skin testing and vaccination requirements, you will see the following Q + A.

Q: If an applicant is required to receive only the vaccinations, and not undergo the entire medical exam, does he/she have to submit the entire Form I-693?

No. Applicants who are not required to have the entire medical examination need to submit only pages one, three and five of the new form. The required sections include Part 1, Information About You, the vaccination record portion of Part 2, and Part 5 (if the vaccinations are administered by a civil surgeon) or Part 6 (if the vaccinations are administered by a local health department). Pages two and four, that would have been left blank, do not need to be submitted.

Because the last page of the I-693 (where the doctor signs) says that he certifies that he , the CS, did a med. exam, he may not want to sign it without him doing an exam, thus charging you a fee for another exam. Copy the entire Q+A and bring it with you to convince the CS you will not need another exam regardless of any other immunizations or TB skin test. Good luck! Mari-Joe

  3. The embassy will extend the expiration for the petition. If you are talking about getting a police clearance from a country in which the benificiary spent more than 6 months since the age of 18 then you could have applied for that already. The embassy will consider it valid for 1 year. It depends what country as to how long it will take, if it is even nessesary, but you should check the reciprocity tables to make sure. http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/reciproc...ocity_3272.html It took us 4 months to get police cert. from lebanon, but most other countries are alot faster than that. Also, if not in English, it will have to be translated into English. On the other hand, if you are talking about a police clearance from the benificiarys own country, (Australia) then it shouldn't take long to get. Also you should visit the embassy website to find out more about how long it takes to schedual an interview there, however, I would suggest you have all the documents you need before doing so. Good luck. Mari-Joe

  5. I wrote up our first interview in January for a question back then so I will paste it below.

But we live together and have since Last January. We met in July of 2007 so we have known each other a long time. I even went to India before we married to meet his family. I think we werent affectionate enough. We are both not PDA people and we were told not to be by our lawyer. So I always thought we were way too professional and maybe it came off as distant.

This is what I wrote about my first interview in January...

""""Well my husband and I had his AOS interview in the Fairfax, VA office today and it was irritating. After an hour and half wait we were brought into an office where we were asked a minimal of questions. She got all of my husbands info and he was fine with his simple name address marital status, are you here for ill intent, ever been arrested questions. Then when asked my name I gave my maiden name. (I have less than a year of saying it and I was nervous) so I started off stupid. Then when asked how we met I told her the story. She just kept writing and writing with her evil red pen and gave us back some of the back-up we submitted that she decided she didn’t need and she just kept writing. My lawyer suggested that we mention I spent a month in India and I showed her the pics to prove it. She said that my pics could have been taken anywhere (now the next time I take a vacation I will think twice over my background).

She handed me back my tax forms and asked me for the W-2’s I did not bring my W-2’s because I had submitted my tax forms. She then printed out the EVIL Form: I-130 request for evidence. With the need for W-2’s checked and initially she had the box checked stating establish the bona-fide relationship for which I started to panic and bring up that my phone bills showed while he was in India last year we had spoken on the phone several times a day. She looked at the bills and asked him for his India phone numbers and she took the phone bills and said she would go over them and verify that the numbers matched the bill. So she reprinted the form and that line was not checked just the W-2 box but she told us that we should still provide any proof we can come up with for our relationship. She was very intimidating in this request. The w-2’s I easily have and found within 10 minutes after coming home but the proof of our relationship is freaking me out. I have been the only one working for the past year and we live in Northern VA/DC area not a cheap location so we kept it minimal this year. We barely went anywhere and when we went to the movies we threw away the ticket stubs. When we traveled to meet my family in Ohio we went by car you can’t prove joint travel when you go by car. We honestly had the most boring year of my life but we were newly married and didn’t mind staying home. """""

I don't think it is common in India for PDAs, so dont worry that. You should have pictures with the inlaws though. Your passport and airline tickets will prove you went there for a month. Im sure you showed them your official marriage cert. Right? Joint bank, credit card accounts and bills will also help. Start taking plenty of pictures together and with family. Bring the W-2s. Sometimes affidavids from family and friends will help. Can you explain why your first year of marriage was the most boring year of your life? Maybe that reflected in your interview. Joe

  7. look at the ds3025 form at the bottom left it will have a box checked. if it says immunizations complete then you only need to have the records transcribed onto the I 693. If it says incomplete, then you will need the nessesary shots or tb skin test and then have it all transcribed on the I- 693 by a CS. You will not need another examination. Good luck - Joe

  8. is it found in the visa or in the I-94? can i just write NONE? because there is an A#****-***-**** in my visa and at the back of my I-94. my friend told me she put hers none even if she had hers like mine... correct me if i am wrong, too, is the AOS fee $1010.00 for K1 and $600.00 for K2? just wanna make sure things go well for us. responses will be greatly appreciated.

    God bless!

Your A # is on the back of the I-94 and on your visa in the annotations section. It will be used on all your forms now. It is not advisable to put none on the forms. When you sign the form, you are saying that all information is true and correct & you have your A# so you need to use it. The fee is $1010, not sure about k-2.

  10. Hello VJ family :) ! Would you help us with our question please? :help: We got our NOA2 at February, 17. Here is our question - how can we track our case AFTER we got our NOA2? (we did track it while we were wating for our NOA2 at uscis.gov). Will we get any notification when NVC will receive our case from USCIS (and when it will leave NVC to embassy)?

    Thank you much in advance.

you will find your answers in the NVC forum http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showforum=83 Visit there often untill your interview date is set. good luck - Joe

  11. follow the links above as suggested. But one of the first things you will want to have her do is if she has left her country for more than 6 months since the age of 18, she will need police clearance from that country. Depending on which country it is will decide how long it will take to get. It took my fiancee 4 months to obtain the police cert. from lebanon. Study the manila embassy guides well, your checklist is there, Good luck. - joe

  12. Okay, we're going to attempt this tomorrow morning. The office is only a couple of miles from where we live. Info on the web site says that walk-ins are acceptable for military members, but doesn't say that is the ONLY exception. If questioned, I think we'll try the excuse that on the date of the appointment there is a chance she will be out of town, so we thought we'd try to squeeze in earlier.

Did they let you complete biometrics with an early walk in?
