Hi, I'm hoping/expecting our NOA2 in the next couple of months. Because I returned from the Peace Corps at the end of December, I don't have a job yet, and I'm thinking of returning to school next year, so it's likely I won't have one in time for the consulate interview (which may require the I-134) or maybe even in time for our AOS filing (which will require the I-864).

The I-134 form instructions (which reference the I-864 form instructions) indicate that if your income doesn't meet the 125% of poverty level, you can make up the difference if you have investments, savings, etc. which are 5x the amount your income falls short. The current poverty level for 2 people is about $18k right now, I think. I have well over $100k in savings and investments.

So my question is: Will this work? Has anyone else done this?

I know I could get a co-sponsor, but it seems like I shouldn't have to if I have plenty of other resources. Clearly, I will if I must.

I'm just seeking to hear from people who have done this. Also, if anyone else who has interviewed at the Casa consulate can confirm exactly what my fiance will have to bring with him. The Casa page on VJ doesn't indicate the I-134, but it does refer to form 156k which says we must attach Evidence of Financial Support. Does this mean we attach the I-134?

so i was in casablanca 27/1/2009 my interview was had some kind of trk questions but its ok in the end she told me wheres your finacial tax income and support...cuz already i asked the guys in consulate in casablanca and my fiance called them from us too and they told her we dnt need no financial or no i-134 when i was in my interview she told me sir you have to bring financial support ill ask for that next time and she gave me 221(g) that said my case will complete to review when ill bring this financial taxes income and i-134 so just to let you know just make everything ready befor your fiance he will be in interview and he will need something and then they will dealay it for few weeks so my thoughts for you just make everything ready in case cuz that happend to me too ...have a good luck

I'm just curious, in your original interview packet, the consulate DID NOT ask for any financial information? Or what financial information did they request?

I'm hoping we get our NOA2 and therefore the interview in the next few months and want to be prepared!

salam alaikom.you asked me if they ask for any financial informations i think you try to mean taxes ??anyway first think make sure that you have a copy of ticket of your fiance and all emails and chat history and they echange money when she were here with you and all letters that she sent you by mail and all pictures you make with her and you can make an invitation wedding its easy or go google card of wedding and print it and write on it date when you ll get married in usa and where and your name and her name maybe she can send you one .and all phone record , look more you show more you are stronge .and about taxes if you fiance didnt pay a taxes of her job she can fille a taxe of 2008 at this time when you are going to interview you ll have it .put a date with your fiance when you ll get married in usa so the consulat can know that you guys already have a plane .and you have to know more about her and about her kids if she have ?and try to know more about her family and when she work and she work with who what exactly fonction of her job .thats like a important questions that really you have to know .anyway just be really ready and you have to calm down and your fiance too cuz a lot of poeple they break at this time cuz its a lot of work and they get depress and stress so you have to calm down and ista3in bellah and everything will be fine incha allah if you ahve any question you can ask me .so anyway allahoma yassir wala to3assir salam alaikoum

salam alaikom..i read your topic and i had same case like your fiance i was had my interview at 29/jan/2009 too and this nasty lady she were trying to trick me she have no reason for that anyway i was making a call befor go to interview and i asked the office of immigration about if i have to take with me the financial tax incom and affidavit support and this man said to me no i dnt need none of that so when i go to interview she were question me some questions i dnt understand why she need to ask questions like that anyway after that she took all evidence i bring with me , and last second she asked me wheres the financial tax income i told her i called you guys and you told me i dnt need it.and then she gave me 221(g) its say the same they ll review my case unitil all document its comply and this papper she gave me said please bring with you the document you need next time.so i traveled again and i gave them the docs that they need so the man he told me we wiil call you when we are finish from it ....i just wanna say you dnt need to be crazy you guys need to keep loving eachother cuz sometimes they doing like that to see how much you are seriuos and how much you are in love .just bring what they need and then the fianceé need to keep calling the consulate at casablnca to know whats goin on all the time .and i hope you ll be togheter guys so soon incha allah salam alaikom

yeh im really need a help cuz in my evidence of our relationship we have just email and letters and chat history and phone record from may 2008 but i met my fiance at 27/2006 but we werent that seriuos and we werent talking that much at all we werent exachngin our adress or our phone number we werent that seriuos so when i said to consulate we met at 27/2006 cuz that a truth and then they call me and they said to me back with financial taxes income and with evidence that show you are met from 27/2006 i dnt know how i can have this evidence of our relationship from 27/2006 we have a little bit of chat history thats it cuz i didnt know that we goinna be that seriuos like that and go far like that so anyone can give some idea pls ?,
