I'm a late filer, sent my package 07/30 but after reading the instructions I found out I could have sent it 3 months ago.

"You may file the N-400 90 days before you reach five years as an LPR or, if eligiblethrough marriage to a U.S. citizen, 90 days before you reach three years as an LPR."
I was wondering if anyone else did the same??

My husband filed in April in Vermont Service Center, and like the rest of you, has not yet received his new green card. We are currently in the process of buying a house and we close next week. I suddenly started freaking out about this affecting our ability to close. Has anyone shown their foreign passport + expired green card + extension letter for something as big as this without a problem? Or does anyone have any experience/advice they can share? Thanks in advance.

I received my new green card on the mail last week, but we were in the middle of the process of buying a house when I filed, jusk like your husband.
All I was requested to present was my expired green card along with the extension letter. I'm not sure if the real estate laws change from state to state (we live in Tacoma/Washington), but I don't think this is going to be a problem at all.
Just to be on the safe side, I would ask your real estate agent. Better yet, your lender.
Only one advice: make sure as soon as you close on the house and sign the contract to go on the USCIS website and change your address. You can do it online, it's very simple.
Along with that your husband still have to file an AR-11 form to make sure they will have his new address on their master data-base.
I made the mistake of only changing the address online on their website and my green card ended up being sent to my old address and I only found out about it 10 days later.
So, DO NOT FORGET THE AR-11 form!!

Update:
Exactly as I was expecting even thou I did put in a change of address, my greencard was delivered in 09/27 to my old address.
Luckly it was sent back to USCIS and I received an email asking me to update my adress (haven't I done that already???)
Today, October 18 I received my new green card on the mail.
Again, as I was expecting, my son's green card was not delivered, not even to the old address and we were told to wait another 30 days before
we contact USCIS.
This is really frustrating since his removal of conditions was filed along with mine, in the same application.
His first green card was lost in the mail and even thou he never received it , the USCIS had a confirmation of delivery (??)
so we were forced to pay all the fees to get him a new green card issued.
It is looking like it's happened once again and I really hope that I am wrong.
If someone can please update the status on my case, I appreciate.

It has been quite a while and I thought I would keep everyone posted on my status as there may be someone else going through the same situation I am.
I originally sent my package in April and I had it sent back to me because I filed too early
( a month earlier to be precise).So I waited another month and had the package sent back in on May 2nd which technically makes me a May filer but I like to think I'm an April filer anyways
.I received the letter with the biometrics appointment on May 22nd and had the biometrics done on June 13th.
Meanwhile, we bought a house and moved from our old address into our new home on the weekend of July 16th.
I updated my address at the USCIS website and am still waiting for my case to be approved.
My current case status on the website is "Under initial review" and my main concern is that they mistakenly have my gc sent to the old address or that it gets lost in the mail (I had this happen before with my son's first issued gc).
Well, guess this is all for now and I would like to please ask for my case status to be updated on the April's filers list.

I sent my package today (California Center), and just reading all the posts and comments I start to get concerned.
I really was not worried at all and maybe that was a mistake?
I did not send any afiddavits, nor any pictures. I also did not add any W2's or 1099-MISC forms for our Schedule C. I did send what I considered important and sufficient based on the USCIS instructions.
Only time will tell now!

I just sent my package today, and what I can tell you is that you have way more evidences than what I had.
One advice I read here on the forums and I think is important for you and everyone else to consider:
Every case is singular and unique. I really believe you have plenty of evidences and should not be concerned.

I've been through this same situation while I was waiting on my GC. We moved to another town and we changed our address online.
I called USCIS to make sure and was advised to fill out one separate form to each one of us.
One for my husband (the petitioner, one for me, and one for my son).
Even with that being done, my son's GC got lost in the mail, probly for being sent to the old address while mine was sent to the new one.
We tried everything to locate it with no success.
We had to send in an I-90 application for replacement for a lost green card and had to pay all the fees again, even for the biometrics.
I guess we just were not lucky.

I've received my GC on the mail last month.
My son should have received his as well but he didn't.
We called USCIS and the officer said the card was sent in on August 12th but we've never got it.
We were advised by the same Officer to send in a I-90 Appplication for replacement.
It really sucks since accordingly to the instructions if your card was never received and was never returned to USCIS either,
you MUST pay for the filling fees AGAIN.
The officer was very nice and told us we should wait another 3 to 4 weeks to make sure that the card is not going to be returned to them before we order a new one.
I'm so overwhelmed with this whole situation and I really wanted to go ahead and send the I-90.
But in the other hand I really am not willing to pay the whole thing again.
I really do not think we should have to pay if it is not our falt the card got lost in the mail.
Well... I just wanted to share this information in case someone else is going through the same situation!!

Hello all,
Yesterday my son got a letter from USCIS for his Interview in July 30th.
I thought it was really strange because ever since we filed we have been getting all the NOA's and letters at the same time on the mail.
I thought I would wait and see if maybe I would get mine on the mail today, which never happened.
I called USCIS and the person who helped me on the phone told me to wait another couple of days to see if I will get my letter on the mail and if I don't, that I should come to the interview with my son and let them know what happened.
I was wondering if anybody else had the same problem or could give me some advice.
I really don't feel like waiting if I don't get my letter and just show up at my sons interview like if everything is fine.
Should I request an interview?
If anyone can give me some advice I would appreciate.

I had my biometrics last March 18, but until now case is not yet available online. Anybody with the same case?
I had the biometrics last Thursday, April 9 and still can not see my case online.
Frustrating but looks like many people are having the same problem.

We sent our package in Feb 28 so I figured we can be added to the Progress Report as well?
I just had my Biometrics taken today. In and out in about 45 min.
Pretty fast I thought.

Based in all we've read and learned from all of you we decided not to take the risk to apply for the FEE WAIVER.
Following the sugestions, my husband is selling some of his stuff on eBay and Craigslist.
Even his Cyclocross bike. It's sad to sell stuff you've worked so hard to get for so cheap but like many of you said It's all about priorities and we finally woke up for reality.
We still don't have all the money but we are almost there.
We are gathering all the paper work and we've a;ready seen the civil surgeon for the Medical Exam.
My son got the 5 vaccines he needed for free at a Community Center and I got mine at Safeway for a very good price.
If we get to sell a few more things I believe we will be able to file the AOS by the end of the month.
I appreciate all the comments and advice, they have been very helpful!
I will keep you all updated.
