  1. I asked her to please come by and say goodbye to the kids whom she had a relationship with for three years, she said she would come by. My daughter was excited and waited all weekend for her to show up to help her pack her stuff, she never showed up, not even a phone call, my daughter was devistated. I am at a loss how someone can spend three years with your children acting as their mom and not even say goodbye, obviously she never cared about the kids.

I am doing fine it is just sad for kids to see adults act this way without any compassion. I will have to now make up a story as why she didn't come by. On Monday I called my Attorney, he told me to close all joint accounts and pack her stuff up in boxes if she ever decides to pick it up. After closing the joint accounts I Immediately get a call after a week with no calls, with her screaming did you close the accounts. At this point it is obvious where her motives were. To me there is no value to be placed on true love, it is unfortunate that I got involved with someone who's main motives were money. I didn't see it coming she was very skilled at making everything seem normal. I will move on, I am just sorry for my innocent children that I have to tell a story too, in order to make it seem normal for this kind of behavior. I appreciate all of the kind responses, I have found this site to be filled with valuable resources and just want everyone to know that I am propably a minority as far as outcome of our marriage and do not want to dampen anyone's spirits in their pursuit to find there true love. I wish all of you the best in finding your true soul mate, they are out there.

I can see that you are a good person. someday, you'll find the right person or she may come to you one day. Keep praying...

  2. Hello,

Little stressed out right now and need some answers. My wife and I have have been married for over three years and have lived together here in Minnesota for a little over two years. She wanted to go home and visit the her family. She left on July 5th for a three week trip and was planning on returning home today. Well Unfortunately neither one of us realized that her green card had expired. They would not allow her to get back on the plane for her return flight, and is now stuck in the Philippines. I told her to go the U.S embassy and see what they can do but I have no idea what is going to happen.

I would appreciate any info on how to get her back home as soon as possible.

according to your timeline she arrived in US(LAX) March 12, 2007. Did you guys married in US or in the Philippines? She come here with CR1 Visa? or K1 visa? If she intered here as a CR1 visa, she need to apply for removal of condition before her 2 yrs green card expired. Friend, you need to consult now an immigration lawyer here in US. then, She need ASAP to go to US embassy in Manila. It's 4 months expired?....let me know again what happen OK!

  4. Hi everyone,

Is there anyone here filing I-751 or done filing and have their final greencard already? I would love to know more about it. We filed I-751 June 18 and now on the waiting period. Is there another interview? Thanks for the help

Sharing you my K1 Fiance Journey to filing removal of conditional status to get the final greencard:

I filled I-751 Nov. 15,2008, then I recieved I-797 Notice of Action Nov.27, 2009 that I have to appear in person and I thought that was for interview but its for finger print for the new green card. Then May 19,2009 ,I recieved I-797 notice of action that I was Approved. Finally, June 17,2009 recieved my 10 years Green Card.

So, Good Luck to you! and enjoy while waiting...if you and your husband living together...surelly, you will be approve***

  5. actually, our daughter came at the same time as her mom. we did not use follow to join. the important thing to remember is the K-2 has to be issued within one year, not just an interview scheduled. as I mentioned before, the application process for the visa is almost the same as for a k-1. I'd contact the Embassy to see what you need to do to schedule an interview.

perhaps you can start a new thread, K-2, follow to join. I'm sure there are some members in the forum who recently used follow to join at the Embassy in Manila.

Hi, I'm getting information too about that following- to-join for children. Honestly, I am having severe headache reading about that issue. I think you can do that to get your child from Philippines. This the the article about that:

"important: This section is only applicable to lawful permanent resident who dis not gain LPR status as the immediate of a U.S. citizen.

If you had children before you became a LPR, and your children did not physically accompany you to the US, and you would now like your children to join you in the US, your children may be eligible for following-to-join benefits. This means that you do NOT have to submit a separate Form I-130, Petition fot Alien Relative, for your children, and your children will not have to wait any extra time for a visa number to become available. In this case, you can simply NOTIFY a U.S. consulate(Philippines) that you are a LPR so that your children can apply for IMMIGRANT VISA. IF, however, you immigrated to the US as an immediate relative of a US citizen who did not or could not petition for your children, you will need to file a separate I-130,Petition for Alien Relative.

Take note of this Kababayan: : your children may be eligible for Following-to-join benifits if; **you immigrated on the basis of a FIANCE(e) petition.***

YOU need to contact the US embassy in Manila. and register your daughter as a following-to-join*** Get the website of US embassy in Manila and click"SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS then click the Following-to-join"...GOOD LUCK! but let me know what's going on about your status...

  6. [Hello, Why not to try to resubmit the application and the petitioner is your wife. anyway your wife is a green card holder. But you may have to explain to the immigration about the case. Get an infopass and bring all the docs. Its better you and your wife will be present in the immigration office. Its better to do it now while the child is still under 21 y/o. Good luck.

  7. Hi Jeremy and Dora,

We have been through on that situation. Until, finally we both decided to get married outside of USA and my country. And we applied for Petition of Alien Relative (Form I-130). We both present in US embassy to submit all the documents and they were so helpful to us because they advised and helped us to finish it with in at least 2 months. I received a CR1 visa then flow right to Miami. But before 2 years (before my green card expired) I applied for Removal of conditional status (Form I-751). Then, now I just received my 10 years green card after 6 months waiting. I hope this letter will serve you guys an idea to help your problem. Good luck.

  8. hello!

this question is directed to anyone who has experienced the same situation as i have. my problem is that i need to go home to my country, philippines, in order to attend the graduation of my daughter. i just got my green card today. i didn't file for application to travel together with my adjustment status papers since i read in the topics here that we can apply for it at a later date. my question now is if i apply for an application to travel, will i have to pay the fee? from what i understand in the instructions on the form, i don't have to pay it anymore. any valuable insights to my problem please? thanks so much in advance for your help.

Hello, When is your Green card will expired? And How long you will be in the Philippines? Because, you know it depends how long you will be outside of USA. Try to read about "
    FORM I-131" Ok. Good luck!
