  1. Oh good thanks, I am not sure if I would call though, since they never have any idea what is going on

I didn't have a good experience calling. The tier 2 agent suggested my case was taking longer because I "might" have something on my record (i do not in the least) then told me that the 6 months timeframe on the site is inaccurate and its more like 8-12 months and is "only going to get worse" due to immigration reform. Needless to say, the call was worthless and not helpful. I hope everything goes well for you. I am sure you will hear soon!!

  2. Less than 18 hrs later I get a response telling me my biometric information is current. Yay! Saves me a 4 hr round trip to the support center and a day off work, but a tad miffed about the biometrics fee not being refunded.

    Thats great!

Grrr. I haven't heard back yet.

  3. The 30 days since my NOA date was up last Thursday, still no biometrics appointment so decided to call USCIS and they have no record in their system of my receipt number. The guy told me it can take 45 days to appear in their system and I should phone back after 45 days, so in another couple of weeks.

    Anyone heard of that before?

    Hi!

I just did the same thing. I told the lady on the phone that I knew that they wouldn't be able to look me up because the only time they are able to do that is with our BIOMETRICS case number...so she placed me on hold and opened up a case with a service request and gave me a reference number. I would call back and at least get that done. Good think Visa Journey has schooled me.....

She then said that i would hear back in 15-30 days.

    Good luck!

  4. Seems pretty strong.

I believe the instructions also call for copies of your primary IDs for the two of you (usually state ID cards or driver's licences).

(Edit) Can't actually seem to find that in the instructions anywhere, but I recall seeing people RFE'd for not including it, so I would certainly do that.

Cool, thanks. I do have my green card included but will include a copy of his ID too.

    Thanks again!

  5. Sworn affidavits in an I-751 are generally used to shore-up a weak application; they are secondary evidence at best. Feel free to include 1-2, but if you're submitting a lot of primary evidence then they won't really do anything for you. OTOH, if you feel your application is a little on the weak side then by all means include some.

    Hi Hypnos!

How are you? thank you for the quick reply. i appreciate it...as all of my VJ friends know, I am an over thinker :)

    Here is what i have:

    • Copy of our taxes for 2012 and 2013

    • Copies of statements from our joint checking account

    • Copy of savings account showing a joint account.

    • Document from my company of the designation of her life insurance to my husband

    • Copies mortgage statements of our home, showing joint ownership.

    • Copy of the sewer bill of our home, showing joint ownership

    • Copy of our health insurance cards showing a joint policy.

    • Copies of envelopes of mail we have received as a couple, Christmas, anniversary, birthday and thank you cards

    • Pictures of us, along with family members, including our friends who completed the aforementioned affirmations

    Thoughts?

  6. Hi Folks,

I am probably overthinking things (as usual) however I am about to send off my packet to remove my conditions and this is the last item i need clarity on. i have two affidavits from people that know my husband and I. What kind of proof do i need to provide that these people know us? I included a picture of one woman with us in a family setting (she is my brother in laws girlfriend) and I am also having a neighbour sign one as well.

Here are the instructions for the i-751:

    5.
Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by at least two people who have known both of you since your conditional residence
was granted and have personal knowledge of your marriage and relationship. (Such persons may be required to testify
before an immigration officer as to the information contained in the affidavit.) The original affidavit must be submitted
    and also contain the following information regarding the person making the affidavit: his or her full name and address;
date and place of birth; relationship to you or your spouse, if any; and full information and complete details explaining

how the person acquired his or her knowledge. Affidavits must be supported by other types of evidence listed above==> what does this mean?

    Thanks!

    Andrea
