Hello Everyone!

I just wanted to let you know that yesterday, October 21, 2013 I received an email from USCIS stating that my oath ceremony was scheduled and a notice was sent providing the date, time and location.

Thanks to all who shared their own stories and offered support when I needed it most.

The day of the interview, they did not give me an approval letter to take with me. They did not check any box and said someone else would need to review the file and approve and they would be in touch by mail. I went home feeling a little let down. The next morning I received an alert that they had scheduled me for the oath ceremony.

Thank you! I just checked my status online and it is still testing and interview. I'm hopeful that everything will be ok.

I had the same thing happen to me a few days ago and the IO indicated he'll likely send a letter with a request for more evidence. This is one possibility, but I've corresponded here with many people who received the same letter ("USCIS will send you a decision") and didn't have a request for evidence; they were just approved a few days or weeks later. It's not uncommon, it seems. Nothing to worry about; a decision may just take a little longer :-)

S history and goverment and USCIS will send you a written decision about your application. I'm worried because my friend told me that when she had her interview the IO's checked box A - that say's Congratulations! Your application has been recommended for approval. Mine has no check. Is this something that I need to worry about? Please help me guys.......

If you didn't change you name you may receive an update tomorrow or early next week . Chicago are so quick when it comes to oath scheduling . I believe they have 2 ceremonies a week . please come pack and update us.

I had mine a week ago in Chicago and I get the approval letter in hand. Maybe the officer wants to review you file before making his decision. Don't worry, relax, and wait for your oath letter in the upcoming days. Congrats !

Sis, we are in the same boat.. Im having hard time with SSN also. BAdtrip! I dnt know what to do.. they always told me to wait and wait and wait!!!!....it is frustrating!

Hi guy! I just got back from Social Security Administration Office.. after recieving my EAD card yesterday filled out the application and was told no SSN could be issued as Home Land Security had not updated their system yet. Now im waiting again. the lady told me i might wait up to 45 days for Home Land Security to verify the information on the application. any thoughts or comments?! I would like to hear from you. Thank U!

Happy that another step was completed. thank so much for the replies... when I filled my AOS(on JULY 13) i used my married name, everything was done using my married. I also used my married name when i applied for my SSN.. GodBless !!!

Hi guys!!

here's my story :

Initially applied for SSN on june 29, with my married name... August 15 , I recieved a letter from the local SS Administration, indicating no SS number could be given because no match was found on my married name. the letter suggested to re-apply using the name on my INS documents. We went to the office to apply again but was told we could not proceed b-coz my I-94 was expiring that very day Aug 17. so the question now is... can i re-apply once my EAD arrives or will i have to wait until i recieve my green card? this whole process is very frustrating. any thoughts,suggestions, advice would be grately appreciated. Thanks

Sure, this is normal. Pending just means that they have not made a decision, which is normal because they just received the file and it is awaiting processing.

Don't worry.

I'm curious of what took place after you received your NOA2 paper. How did you know your case was forwarded to the consulate from the NVC? Thanks

NVC send a letter to Petitioner indicating that the petitions is being forwarded to the approriate visa-issuing post where your visa interview will take place or your fiance interview will take place.

Go to USCIS web site once you get your NOA's & create an account using your NOA receipt #'s you can follow your paperwork. They do not update very often though so keep in mind you will drive yourself crazy thinking nothing is happening and one day BAM something comes in the mail LOL
