  1. No I understand what you are saying Vanessa&Tony...it was a difficult choice for us when he took the job out of state because for one full year he was looking for a job here in NYC and that got frustrating for him and for me (since I was studying at the time and once he got the opportunity to get the work we both decided that would be the best for us to save money.

The situation where he is out of state is only temporary as I will be joining him once my review course is done...so hopefully USCIS will see that. I do have the evidence of us in a bonafide marriage...all what you mentioned in your message. And I definitely have no plans to lie to say we live in the same place. I think I will use his out of state address since that's where I will be going once my review is done. Situations are different for every couple...but I thank you for your input.

  2. Hi everyone!

So it finally will be that time soon to file for my husband's permanent 10yr green card...so this is the situation that I have a Question on...for the last year my husband has worked out of state and has stayed with relatives during that one year while working...I on the otherhand stayed behind in NY because I was finishing up some classes.

I am now done with the classes. When we filed for his AOS papers, we were both in NY together. Well, with him now out of state, he doesnt have his own place (staying with relatives) because we're trying to save money. There is a review course I still need to take for the next 2 months before I can go to him...this is the exact time that coincides with the filing for the i-751...I don't know which address to officially use when filing for i-751. Should I use the one here in NY or where he is now?

Any advice would be helpful...or any website you can send me to that could help me more would be helpful as well.

  3. Hi everyone,

I just had a question concerning I-864A form. Initially when we first sent our AOS package, we sent the form I-864 for using a co-joint sponsor (not living in the same address as me and my husband). Then some weeks later we got an RFE saying we didn't send in the most recent I-864A form. So maybe my mistake for not questioning more about it, but we had mailed an I-864A form as requested. Then today, we received another RFE saying that the household member on Form I-864A has a different address from the sponsor's/petitioner's address. And they are asking now that we submit evidence that the household member lives in the same address as the sponsor/petitioner.

I am not sure what to do with this now because the joint sponsor does not live with me and my husband. Should I call uscis and say they were the ones who asked for the I-864A form and so we mailed it and now they want more evidence because of the different address of the co-sponsor and us? It's just confusing because uscis ask for something that really didn't apply to us and now they want evidence for it.

  4. This is the website I was talking about for manila airport. You can click on arrivals and departures and see the live info updates of planes on time.

    http://www.manila-airport.net/

    Here's the link for Arrivals

    http://www.manila-airport.net/Arrivals.cfm

    And departures for MNL

    http://www.manila-airport.net/Departures.cfm

    I hope that's helpful :)

Oh cool...thanks so much...you just saved me the time to look for the websites...you've been really helpful. Good luck and also have a safe trip :)

  5. Hello.

I'm flying through Manila this Saturday. I've been watching for any delays in the Manila airport but there was only some delays during the first days of the storm. The airport is operational and there's a website you can go to somewhere that shows live updates of incoming and outgoing planes out of Manila.

I don't know if I will see any flooding or not from the air since I'm flying it at night. I pray for a safe and good trip as I go :)

Thanks for your reply. I will try looking for the website that shows the updates. And I wish you a safe trip :)

  6. Hi everyone!

As we all have read and seen on tv, typhoon ondoy has left thousands and thousands of Filipinos in devastation. And we here in the US I am sure are of great concern for our loved ones who are still in the Philippines, for their safety and security...wanting them to be here with us as soon as possible. My fiance will be leaving the Philippines some time this October but now I am greatly concerned about long delays (like days) etc due to the typhoon and newly emerging ones.(one concern is due to his 6months will be almost up by his departure date) and any further delays scares me that perhaps the 6month deadline will expire because of these typhoons and delays. I wanted to know if your fiance/fiancee has a flight out of the Philippines for the US during this week or the next 2 weeks and if so, has there been any news about extensive delays or anything like that for their flights?

And let us all continue to pray for the so many filipinos who have been struck by this typhoon...for those who lost their lives and that help will continue to come for all of them.

  7. I think that if you were to go back to college here in the US, the admissions office of the college you plan to attend would/may ask for your official transcript from the college you attended in the philippines. Most college will not accept hand-delivered transcripts (that is, if you got a copy of your own college transcript and then bring it with you from the PI) because they will prefer that the college actually mail the transcript...making it 'official'. I know this because I have relatives who have gone through this in the past. So, with your transcript, they could possibly transfer some credits towards whatever new degree you would be studying now. That way, you can take less classes. This is from what I have heard of colleges here in NY. Maybe other college admissions offices don't mind you hand delivering it to them.

  8. Hello again to everyone! Well, I again have a question to ask. I have been reading topics from various month to yrs about co-sponsors for the Affidavit of Support at USEM and some of what I've read is good and others not good.

I am the USC and am currently still studying and have co-sponsor. I will be done with my studies by the middle of the year. We will be scheduling my fiance's interview but I am afraid from what I've read about visas being denied due to co-sponsors. I'd like to ask those who have had his/her interview recently, like the last couple of months, and had a co-sponsor, if you could fill us in on your experiences (good or bad) and what the CO said etc...any feedback would be helpful.

    Thank you in advance!

  9. I got mine through DHL

Hi, i just had a quick question to ask. Once the USEM has received our case from NVC, what mailing method does USEM send the confirmation letter to the beneficiary? in other words, via regular mail, priority mail or registered mail? thanks in advance for any input.

Oh you did? do you mind me asking how long ago was that? if it is thru dhl, then someone would have to be at address that my fiance had given, right? no one is at home during the day so that is why i ask about method of delivery with USEM. i don't want something getting lost or any mess up etc.

  10. There are so many phone cards coming out all the time...one will be good for a few months and then later for some reason service tends to go downhill (like connection-wise, length of talk lessens as the new card is in the market longer etc) I haven't used phone cards in awhile but just the today I bought a Hello Asia $5 and a new one called 365 New York. So far they have been good...the connection was fast.
