  1. Hiyaaa congrats!

Sounds like you had a smooth ride.

However I may need your help. I just paid the AOS fee to NVC. Also my hubby just emailed the 3032.

Whats next to send to NVC?

Also with the I-864, tax info, job letter, birth certs, marriage lic, copy of passports,

anything else is missing? Also, what ORIGINAL docs will be needed?

    I appreciate your help!

    Maleena

Once your AOS fee shows paid, you send in your I-864 with W2 and tax returns and cover letter.

After your 3032 is accepted IV fee will be generated and after that shows paid you need to send in DS230, original birth cert, police cert, marriage cert, benificiary's pic and cover letter I believe.

Thanks to everyone else for the congrats

  2. Congrats Shimool...I am really happy for you....I have separeted around 200 pics for my interview....Did your wife took it an album? I don't know what is going to happen... Can u ask ur wife, how many of them got visa right away? Is she was the only one or not.....

    Good Luck.. Keep in touch...

    Sonia

Hey Sonia, she was the first one to get a visa, so we don't know how many were interviewed after her. I don't think you need to take so many pics. They like to keep the interview short and I told her to take just a couple pics from each events - mainly the family pics

    Thanks everyone

  3. I know of a couple of my relatives, who had an arranged marriage - basically they didn't know each other beforehand, were delayed. They received an AP slip and had to wait for a few more months. I guess when it is arranged they need to do additional background checks to make sure the marriage is not for the reasons of entry to the states.

  4. Hi fellas,

First and foremost I gotta thank each and everyone of you guys. If it weren't for VJ and it's members, right now my case would still be at NVC. I used the shortcuts and it saves so much time. Thanks for all the support and advice everyone.

Now I'll tell you guys about my wife's interview. My wife had her visa interview on the 9th of March in Dhaka, Bangladesh. She went to the Embassy at 7am, when her visa was scheduled for 8am. As they let her in, my wife was the 9th person in line. They checked her appointment letter and passport and then she went through security checkpoint and they didn't allow a cell phone inside or to be kept at their lockers. She went inside, and within 10 minutes she was called and was asked for her actual passport, medical report, 2 photos, appointment letter, birth certificate, marriage certificate and police certificate photocopies (originals were already submitted to NVC). They gave her back her original birth certificate and pcc and 20 mins later she was called again for fingerprints. At 9:30 she was called again at a window and it was time for her interview. She had no idea this was the actual interview, because she thought it would be in a room. This was a huge advantage for us, because if she knew it was the actual interview, she'd have been really nervous. The consular asked her the following questions:

    Petitioner's name?

How long have you know the petitioner?

Love or arranged marriage? - from what I've heard, the answer to this question makes quite a difference

    Marriage date?

How many people attended? and asked to see some pictures

Asked a few more general questions and then said your visa is approved. :D:D:D

My wife was so shocked and teary eyed and happy that the consular was joking that she can play some music for my wife to dance to. Then she gave her a receipt for her passport to be picked up the next day and that's the end of it. She didn't need any other pictures or any other paperwork.

It was a very painless and fast procedure. It took her a total of only an hour and 30 mins inside the embassy. We are so so happy now. She'll be here next week and finally, FINALLY we can live our dreams.

    Once again, thanks everyone

  5. Hey VJers,

My wife has her interview on the 9th in Dhaka, Bangladesh Consulate. I wanted to know if anyone has any specific tips for me to convey to her.

Also I asked her to take the following with her:

The first folder should include the absolute necessary things:

    a. Original Passport.

    b. 2 photos.

    c. Medical Report in a Sealed Envelope

    d. Appointment Letter

    e. ‘ADDITIONAL PROSSESSING QUESTIONARE’ (specific Dhaka US embassy requirement)

The 2nd folder should be all about proof of legit relation:

    a. Photographs of our wedding, etc.

    b. Joint bank account statement

    c. A printout of my passport’s Bangladesh visa and visiting dates (as a proof of my visits to Bangladesh)

    d. Emails

    e. Telephone bill (Skype)

Third envelope includes backup copies of stuff and photocopies:

    a. Birth Certificate Photocopies

    b. Marriage Certificate and Nikah Nama Photocopies

    c. Police Certificate Photocopies (Originals of the above 3 were send to NVC)

    d. Passport photocopy

    f. My passport and Birth Certificate photocopies

    g. Take a copy of DS-230 Part 1 (signed) and Part 2 (unsigned)

    h. Copy of AOS papers

    i. 1 more ‘additional questionnaire form’.

    j. Keep some scratch paper, and a pen/pencil to write consulate's name and other info.

Do you guys see anything that I am missing here? Also do you think the 3rd envelope is an overdo? Thanks

  6. we are about to get the k3 visa and right now the cr1 visa we already paid the aos bill for $70 and the IV bill is coming soon for $400. do we have to pay that? what is going to happen next? do we have to do i-130 all over again? we already did it like a long time ago.

If you pursue the CR1 visa, you'll have to pay $400 (recommended)

If you go to states under K3 visa, you'll have to file for adjustment of status there and that'll cost around $1000

You won't have to do i130 again, just gotta do the NVC procedure and then you'll have a CR1 interview

  7. In Addition to above, I found taht they said to try a day or 2 beyond or before the date alos and this:

"I think it takes DHL atleast a day or so to update all the different shipments through that method. I was checking for shipments on the 12th Feb (AVR says my package was sent to consul on the 12th), but nothing arrives, but for the 11th, everything shows up online."

Lol. It was actually me who wrote that in a thread about tracking NVC stuff. Thanks a lot for your efforts. Maybe DHL tracking doesn't work over the weekend, as it was working friday night.

  8. I found this on another thread posted by 'SankuNiku:

"The NVC uses DHL to ship their packages. Once you confirm the date that the I-130 was sent, you can go on the DHL website to approximately track your case. There are forums here talking about it but I'll sum it up below.

    1. Go to: http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByRef.asp?nav=TrackByRef

    2. In Reference, enter the info as follows:

    EXP DD MMM YYYYA

    EXP is constant

DD is the date before the day the NVC said they shipped the case.

MMM is the three letters representing the month the NVC shipped the case

YYYY is the year the NVC shipped the case

    A is constant

For example, if the NVC says they shipped the case on February 12 2009, this would be entered as "EXP 11 FEB 2009A"

    3. Date range for shipment - From: Enter the date of the day NVC said they sent the case

    4. Date range for shipment - To: Enter todays date

    5. Keep the rest of the fields blank

    7. Once you enter the info, press "Track"

    8. After a while you will see a list of all of the packages that left the NVC today. You need to search for the specific consulate, in your case Lima?

    9. When you find the shipment the corresponds to your consulate, you will see the tracking number that you can record.

    10. You can then track the shipment from the NVC to your specific Consulate"

    Hope it helps.

Thanks Jan&Rachid. I actually used that process, and it worked a couple of days ago, but hasn't been working since. So I was wondering if it is just me or if DHL tracking has been down the last couple of days

  9. Wow!!!! no wonder y we have to go through a hard time. I mean we go through long distance relationships for so long and when we decide we want to be together, the process is so tiring both mentally and physically. After reading this I can't blame USCIS or NVC or the consulars any more for the hardship they make us go through.

Anyway, I am not going to judge you, but it is odd that you have a bf here who filed the petition and maybe you had some problem with him and somehow you find another single guy ready to petition for you 'here'. I mean what are the odds, you meeting 2 guys ready to petition you (must've been quite a search). Anyway sorry for the vent, but if your new guy petitions for you, you will be labeled as 'fraud'. Whoever your friend is, that tells you they'll pick the most able guy or something, is horribly wrong. You will have a ban from US entry! (fingers crossed)
