  1. My wife's interview is at the end of july . my process completed today .

Can some one please tell me how to prepare for her . We have not received the interview letter yet but was told by the NVC. Please tell me what does islamabad embassy sends you and what documents I need as a petititoner and what documents does she need . Its CR1. Thanks and congrats to all of you who got to this step. And for those who are still waiting, best of luck to you.

  2. To me paying the IV fee bill and 70 dollar AOS fee bill turned out to be a night mare and I am still dealing with it. So far i have received two RFEs saying that I need to pay the IV fee bill even though I have paid it and even on the website it says paid. I have also sent them the bank statement but they have not yet fixed the issue. I recommend only paying the IV fee once you receive the IV fee bill. I paid both things at the same time. turned out to be a big mistake.

  3. Greetings to you All,

I am a little confused and your help will be greatly appreciated. I am trying to fill out I 864 but stuck on the question related to sponsors house hold size(question 21).

I am married (No kids) and live by myself in an apartment and sponsoring only my wife. Q 21 states...

Persons you are sponsoring in this affidavit:

    a. Enter the number you entered on line 10. -----------------------------------------01

Persons NOT sponsored in this affidavit:

    b. Yourself.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------1

    c. If you are currently married, enter "1" for your spouse.--------------------------1

    d. If you have dependent children, enter the number here.-------------------------0

    e. If you have any other dependents, enter the number here.---------------------0

    f. If you have sponsored any other persons on an I-864 or I-864

EZwho are now lawful permanent residents, enter the number here.--------------0

    h. Add together lines and enter the number here. Household Size:----------------3

This is how I am filling Q 21 , am I right this way based on my situation. I just want to make sure that I am not adding my wife twice.

  4. You guys rock!!.

I am planning to file W-7 with my tax return . The problem I have is that my wife does not work and have absolutely no income. What do I do , I read the 519 from IRS but it does not point to any form. The other thing is that I have copies of her passport but they are not notarized.

    Question 1.

What do I do in the situation where My wife dont have any income. Any one know any form number etc

You should probably file MFJ with your wife getting an ITIN, also follow Pub 519 and claim her as a full time resident in the US. Her foreign income will be taxed but in your case that is 0.

    Q 2

Will the tax form with MFJ need to be signed by her?

Yes and the W7 for the ITIN.

I am so frustrated by these taxes , if i files MFS I loose so much money. Please help!

    Thank you so much

  6. I had to file an I 824 to have my case sent to NVC. It took over 5 months for that to be approved. While in the process of waiting we decided to go ahead and file the K3. I had my K3 before the I 824 was approved.

Loverboy- just curious- why is she moving to Canada? It seems to me the move will just make things more complicated.

All her family has been sponsored by her sister and she has pretty much every thing done for Canadian immigration so she have no choice but to move to Canada. I was thinking that once she get the PR card etc . She can apply for a visit visa to come to US (very easy to get , I believe) and spend time with me . In worst case scenario she will go back for an interview. Any other thoughts on this?

  7. request a consulate change when it gets to NVC

If only an I-130 was filed, the visa category would not be K3. It would be CR1 or IR1.

If K3, there's no changing the Consulate. The interview must be in the Country the marriage took place unless the marriage was in the USA.

Thanks for pointing that out. So since I have only filed I-130 and the G 325A I must be CR1 or IR1. I see on the other post that K3 and K1 takes almost the same time and alot of people think they should not have filed the I-129F (with I-130)in the first place. How long does the CR1/IR1 takes. I was not initially planning to file I129F but now I am confused and have 2 questions

    1. Will it take a long time since I have took the CR1/IR1 path.

    2. Since its IR1/Cr1 , does the interview has to be in the country or marriage?.

    3. Can she take the visit visa to US and come live with me. What would be the consequences and how would Ir1/Cr1 processing will be impacted.

    Thanks in advance.
