  1. My wife just had her interview in jakarta (US embassy) and will get her visa a little over a week. We want to avoid her having to go back to Indonesia after she gets here. How should we apply for the green card? We just don't want to make a big mistake of her having to go all the way back to Indonesia for some sort of required interview to get her green card. We are going with the K-3 visa. Will we be able to get the green card for her when she gets here to the US without needing to go back...thanks for any good advise..God bless VJF

yes but you guys didn't use the I-129 petition..My wife got the K-3 visa through I-129F petition. I saw you guys went directly with the I-130...the I-129 I thought was for waiting for permanent residency. I assume what you are saying might work for us as well..but I am just trying to avoid any regrets..thanks so much for your reply..God bless

  3. naaahhhh..we haven't even recieved the I-134..I am usually very good at pre-arranging prior to making any actions before recieving instructions. But you sure should get a metal for seeing I neglected the I-134 instructions through assumptions. Wow is that a rap song? God bless brother. I gotta go ...so long.

    Hello VJ Family,

my question is pretty simple, who should prepare and signed the AOS I-134? the petitioner or the applicant?

Thank you Thank you Thank you

    God bless

It's the petitioner. Your question indicates you neglected to carefully read the instructions that come with the I-134. That's a good way to ensure failure in the immigration process.

  4. hello my VJ Family

    Based on experiences,

when after you filed all your documents, do the consulate usually arrange the interview schedule?

    In other words

how long is time interval between filling your all the required documents to the consulate and the interview?

    Thank you so much

    from both us

    God bless

  5. Hello VJ family

My wife is close to her interview at the Jakarta US Embassy. But we were waiting for something that we think might not need to be required. We saw a request for a recent tax return from me the Petitioner. I do my taxes every year on my own and then I usually E-file. But this year we needed to mail it in with a W-7 from my wife and also a copy of her passport to get a ITIN#. I haven't received a check yet or any confirmation that it might be considered filed.

My question is: Do we need to wait for the check to show proof of a return or will a W-2 and a few of my last check stubs meet the requirements of my Evidence of Support without the tax return?

I will ask the question one more time to get the answer we need for the Evidence of Support.

Will two of my last check stubs and a W-2 meet the requirements without my tax return for Evidence of Support?

If I need a most recent tax return to meet the requirements for Evidence of Support, will a copy of the tax return I sent to the IRS meet the requirements?

I have not received a check for the tax return yet. It can take 4 to 6 weeks to show proof of a return through the check amount. Other than that we are ready for interview.

We need immediate answers. My wife has been trying to contact the Jakarta US Embassy via phone and no one is answering the phone for immigration section.

Thank you so much for your responds

    God bless

  6. In general the questions are simple. They are not the same for a K 1 type visa. Your proof of relationship is your marrage rather than pictures ect required for K 1 types.

Ours was a K 3 as well. How did you meet? how long have you been married? Children? Where will you be living in the USA? Questions anyone starting a new life together can easily answer.

Other than that just comply with the Packet 3 instructions & you will have no problem.

How long is the interview? Thats a product of your ability to answer the questions & how many they ask. Our was 10 minutes but it wasnt in Jakarta.

You will find the hardest part is behind you already.

Great insight, Thank you so much. I'm very much agree with you, it's really making sense to me (that's probably why the consulate didn't mentioned about proof of relationship in the document list, because we've passed that process when we sent the petition to the USCIS).

Im going to bring some pictures of me and my husband, affidavits of ongoing marriage relationships, copy of our emails, other proof of our communication, and we also filling our tax together this year, so that can be another extra documents.

Tell me what do you think about that... again, thank you.

    God Bless.

  7. I was on K-1, but I don't think the requirements for interview would be that much different from K-3. Also met somebody who went for K-3 interview on the day and she needed the same things as I did. So these are what you need to bring other than affidavit of support:

Pictures (from the time when you were still dating, wedding, and after you are married).

Proof of employment from employer stating your position and annual salary (original).

Pay stubs (the last 3-6 months, copies are fine).

Proofs of assets (home ownership, 401k account, etc. Copies are fine).

Complete copy of the package(s) you sent to USCIS from the US (the consul made a very positive comment when he saw that I had the identical copy of the I-29F package... so it's a good sign).

If you or your spouse was married before, make sure you have certified copy of your divorce decree. The lady I met who came for K-3 interview was grilled during the interview because she couldn't bring solid proof of her divorce. They asked her to come back again. You surely don't want this to happen.

I also brought copy of my husband's (then fiance) passports as proof that he came to visit me, and certified copy of his birth certificate (the consul didn't ask for all of these, but we thought it would be wise to prepare because we read on VJ that different consulates asked for them).

Hope this helps. Best of luck! :)

Thank you so very much, but I think I will eliminate the proof of my employments and pay stubs and proof of assests, I had to prepare that kind of documents when I was applying for my tourist visa to Australia and it was required for number of revelant reason. I am going to stick with what mentioned in the email from the consulate about the document preparations list. I dont want to make it too complicated and confusing, since it is K3 Visa, not K1.

    God bless :) :)

  8. Hello my VJ family

I'm preparing my interview for K-3 Visa at the US Embassy in Jakarta. Can someone please advice me of what to expect in the interview.... What will be the questions about? and how long will it takes?

In the US embassy official website it is mentioned that one of the document that I need to prepare for the interview is proof of relationships (but they didn't mention about it on the list of document preparation that was sent to us from the NVC and Jakarta Consular).

My question, what kind of documents that I can used as proof of relationship?

We sent affidavits proof of ongoing marriage relationships to the USCIS back when we were applying for the I-130 and I-129 petitions, so can we use that too as proof of relationships?

Thank you so much for your kind reply.

    Some proofs of on-going relationship..

    Pictures

    Chat logs

    E-mail

    Letters or Cards

    Proof of remittances

    Phone bills

You could bring anything that proves your relationship as a couple.. Affidavits is an additional proof, too..

    Goodluck!

    thank you :)

  12. (laughing) I think this dude is still on honeymoon. Probably come up for air soon though.

Can you be more specific? It is better to post questions, then we will try to answer as good as we can.

Well sadly im not on my honeymoon...my wife is in the bandung hospital in Indonesia with a high fever and apendix infection in intensive care...its painful to be so far away from her and see her so ill. she also got a diease from the tap water that was giving her trouble to breath and now she is doing a little better with the antibotics. Thank you for your process example...sounds very helpful. We are looking for any help with the process. I saw you message and brought a tear to my eye knowing people care to spend the time to help us out. This whole process can be stressful but I have many patience from God and I put it into practice everyday. Sorry I might sound a little personal, I am just hurting seeing my wife so ill and apprechate any prayers...
