  1. Im also pretty sad. I did see my wife on cam last night for about 1 1/2 hours and that was nice, however

at times even that is not enough. I have a hard time sleeping and eating, concentrating. The only thing that is brightening my spirit right now is maybe I will get to go and see her towards the end of march ! :D

I always believe that God will help all of us through this time of seperation from our loved ones. One day at

at time, keep the faith, never lose sight of the prize at the end of this journey! God Bless everyone.

  2. I think the guy is lying. I think he is a pig also. When I went the the Philippines, as most know who have gone there,

you have to go to the embassy and provide documentation that proves that you are legally capable to marry.

He would have had to prove that to get the documentation necessary to marry is current wife. Sounds like to me that

he is just lying to get the quick Divorce, then marry the new woman in Manila. I feel sorry for both the women involved. What a scum bag :bonk:

  3. I hear you Joe! Just be strong and hang in there. I am also planning a trip in march to see my wife because

I cant stand being apart. I wish this process would be faster. It is so hard on all of us to be away from our wifes

and husbands. I pray that God gives us all the strength that we need, is with us and our spouses in our time of

sorrow to comfort us through this journey. Never lose faith, you will be a family again soon!

  4. I am English only. My wife speaks English, Tagalog, Pangasinan, Illocano. When she is angry or very tired it is a mix. I call it Tagalish. She has taught me a few words. Most of them bad, that way I have no doubts when I am in trouble, again!!!

Thats funny John...TAGALISH! I know when my wife is mad at me also. She gets real quiet and does not

say a word for about 5 to 10 minutes...maybe that is called "Tampo"? although from what I have read, if that

is how she is acting, it is mild.

The quiet has variable degrees, depending on what the Tampo is for!!

Awwww !!! I will keep that in mind !

  6. Hmmm...it's quit amusing at times. I speak English, although sometimes I just speak American. My wife is a filipina and can speak English, although at times I have to speak very slow to her or she cant understand me. Come to think of it, sometimes she has to also do the same thing or I cant understand her! hehehehe Our ears are slowly getting trained to better understand one and other. She also speaks tagalog and illongo. which I am slowly trying to learn.

It will be nice for our children to speak both languages.

  7. I just saw my SO this morning, on Webcam that is, but I guess that is still seeing her. It will be one month on the

29th since I held her in my arms. I know that is nothing compared to most on this site. I think it's hard on all of us.

It doesnt matter if its one day, one month, or one year, it's still hard.

Good luck to all and God Bless.

  8. It will help to prove a bonafide marriage if you are present for her interview.

I thought that it stated in the regulations that I could not be in the country( her country) during the inteview

process, that I had to be in the US? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

Nothing of the kind is stated in any regulations. As a US Citizens, the US Government doesn't tell you you can't travel to another country.

I suggest that when you read the guides here or form instructions that you do so slowly and carefully and that you interpret literally. It's going to be critical to your success.

As for age difference, generally it doesn't matter. A significantly older man is a common situation in the PI but an 18 year old with a 50 year old is going to raise some serious questions anywhere. In cultures where men seldom marry older women, a significant age difference can raise serious questions when the woman is older.

I read this on the Embassy of the united states in Manila website:

A spouse of a U.S. citizen is considered an immediate relative (IR) and is immediately eligible to apply for an immigrant visa under the IR category. The Filipino spouse must be the beneficiary of an I-130 petition approved by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). This petition must be filed at the USCIS office that has jurisdiction over the petitioner's (American spouse) place of residence. On a case-to-case basis, a U.S. citizen who resides in the Philippines may be allowed to file the I-130 petition at the immigration services office at the U.S. Embassy in Manila. However, the petitioner must be domiciled or residing in the United States at the time the Filipino spouse has a visa interview.

  9. (This question probably ranks somewhere in the Top Ten Questions asked on VJ.)

Most of the time, age difference doesn't play a huge role in either approvals or denials.

Did you want to explore your age difference specifically? (If so, give ages.)

There is 20 years between me and my wife, I being the older. I don't think it should be a problem, but then again

I'm new to this whole process and dont know all the rules. Thanks

  10. Hello Everyone,

I read an earlier post from a person who said they feel that their K-3 Was denied because of age difference.

Is this possible? It was my impression that as long as both parties were 18 or older, and could supply all the necessary

documentation needed to get approval, that would get approved. Does Age difference really matter in these cases?

    Looking forward to everyones feedback....Thanks

  11. some times i just need to call her and let her know that I love her every min that we are apart when iam hurting and when iam happy Iam hurting rite now, Hopeing for happyer days

    joey;,'

    Hi Joey,

I know exactly how you feel. I spoke with my wife about two hours ago. I still break down at least once a day, even sometimes when I am on the phone with her. It is very hard on all of us. Never lose faith, try to keep a positive attitude. I know the pain that you are feeling in your heart because I also feel it everyday. Simple words cannot express how we all feel about seperation from the ones that we love, but just remember you are not alone.

Hang in there and God Bless you

    Eric

  12. Hello To my VJ Family,

I am very new to this site and community. I have found alot of great information in this site, and I am thankful

that this site exist with a wide array if topics. My question is How do the other people who are also petitioning a loved

one remain strong? For me it has been a daily struggle, and I'm just starting this process. I speak to my wife at least

twice a day, and we try to see each other a few times a week online. Right now she has to go to a internet cafe, but hopefully next month she can purchase a computer allowing us to at least see each other on a daily bases. Seeing her on online everyday will be great, but it does not lessen the pain that I feel in my heart. My wife and I both knew that this would be difficult. The idea of being 7000 miles apart is not a thought that either of us really like, but we understand that we must make the sacrifice now. Hopefully this journey will go by quickly and we will be once again reunited. The anguish that I feel on a daily bases is sometimes overwhelming. I have not lost my faith, I have just having a hard time and so is my wife. We are committed to making this journey together, to fighting the good fight, and never ever losing hope. The love that we share is strong and continues to grow despite our physical distance.

So let me just ask everyone. How do you remain strong? What do you do to make through another day without your

loved one with you? Thanks for the imput. I wish everyone the best of luck in their Visa Journey. God Bless you all.

  13. hi to all beautiful people of vj,

anyone here knows of a cheap hotel within walking distance of st lukes? how much per day? thanks in advance.

I stayed in the Bayview during my stay in December. It is a farely nice hotel, and is right across the street from the

    US Embassy.

  14. I have spent hours resaerching this option. Not much available. I hope that you can find anything. We were hoping for six months also. It took sixteen months till we had visa in hand. Do not want to discourage you, just be prepared....

16 months!!! Are you kidding me? Why so long? I guess If nothing else I could go for and extended stay. I know that

I can get and extended stay vistor visa there. I guess I will talk more with my wife. Thanks

  15. Hello Everyone,

I must say that after everything that I have read about the visa/immigration process, that I am getting very

very discouraged! I-130 to Embassy interview average time 309 days!!! I really dont want to be away from my

new wife for 309 days. When I first started researching the whole visa process, I thought it was only going to take

6 months, boy was I wrong. So, if I wanted to live in the philippines and work there for awhile, while this process

unfolds, what would I have to do? I know my wife can petition me a visa, and I believe it is a much quicker process.

But what about working there? Anybody have an ideas? About me, I have a BA in Business Management, and over

400 hours of training as a massage therapist. I have worked in the retail and the food industry. Any advice would be

    greatly appreciated.

I thought K3 process is as short as K1? Why not take that route then?

I am doing the K-3 Process, and I still think it will be almost a year.

  16. You probably want to do some research on working in the Philippines. You might look at some of the expats groups in Yahoo, there are several. I belong to the CDO, Cebu and living in paradise groups. These fellows can be very helpful and informative. Good luck with whatever decision you make.

How do I find these expert groups? Sorry Im just not familar with this? Thanks!

  17. First off, I hope there are no stupid questions

After finding this website I decided to fill out the forms myself and not waste money on those darn lawyers (no offense). This website is a godsend. Thanks in advance for all your inputs.

    1. I-129F, question 8b and 9 A# (I'm assuming this is alien regist #). If I'm US citizen and my fiancee doesn't live in US, I assume neither of us have this # and the # is for green card holders. Correct?

    2. I-129F, question 10. I'm looking at my citizenship certificate and I see 2 numbers starting with A xxxx. One is the Application No. and another one is on the very top of the page in red letters. Which is the certificate # and how do I know the place it was issued? Certificate only states the address I was living in during the time the certificate was issued, which happened to be in Honolulu, Hawaii.

    3. G325A, question File Number A _____ (next to Citizenship). What file number is this referring to? Citizenship cert #? Also am I correct in assuming I filled out ALL questions on ALL 4 pages?

    4. Letter of intent. Should my fiancee write this in her native language and have it translated or just use the sample found in this website? (She can understand the letter from this website) Also is the sample found in I-129F guide section sufficient or use our own words and elaborate?

    5. Is there any negative side effects or complications of submitting paperwork for K-1 visa while my fiancee is visiting me on VWP as long as she returns by due date?

I'm sure I may have more questions as this process continues, but this is all I have so far since the guide section was very thorough. Thanks again for your help.

Okay so I guessed I missed this one also! What is the letter of intent? Is that something I write or my alien spouse writes? Im so confused!

  19. Hello everyone,

I am new on this board and don't know to much about the process.

I have copied the signature of another member in order to track my progress and there some steps that I don't understand what they mean. For example when they say I-130 or I-129F touched, what that mean??

    Thanks!!

Im new to this whole process as well. If I were to guess(and this is just a guess-I could be very wrong)

touched could refer to when an actually agent looks at the packet and all of its content. Please let me know

if you find out for sure. Good Luck
