Yeah...I was just venting...but thanks for the kind words and all..And this is a little different than finding money..just to let you know. I was not pointing fingers at no one or sayin others didn't have to wait. I do understand others have, and even longer..Really you helped me so so much today. Just a note to others before something like this happens again, I am not sayin it is anyones fault other than the people who control it. It is frustrating to others. I do not come here to start problems I come here cause I know others have gone through it before. Its just to relate to others since ppl around me never have gone through this.

Of course it would of been ok if “she would have never said no AP and it will be 2 weeks”. It would have been ok for me this morning too if instead of finding a dollar bill in the parking lot that I found a $100 bill instead.

It's frustrating for those that waited months, years, some were denied. Everyone that's going or has gone through the visa process is well aware. It’s typed out all over these boards that yes it's a difficult and to be prepared for possible long waits.

B&S, did they give your husband a slip? I mean a AP or AR slip when interview was over? We were handed nothing, we walked out holding the knife handle of the knife they inbedded in our hearts.

No, she did not give us nothing..no slip nothing..I was there..When she didnt say AP, I asked and she said No AP he will have it in 2 weeks..

You know I am fixin to vent...It has been over 2 months since we had the interview. I know others have waited longer and I do understand this. But none the less it does make me angry. I do not understand how other cases are different. It is the same damn procoess. I think what is good for one should be good for all. Hey I am glad it took some of you 4 days or 3 or even 2 weeks. Really....But I think its not right. Every flippin week its the same ol #######. I was just told today by DOS it could take 3 months, 6 months, she said we even have some for 3 years.....WHY? Why so dang long? My husband is clean and clear been in school all his adult life. Its been a month and the embassy still has not contacted my senator. I think I would have been ok if she would have never said no AP and it will be 2 weeks..and now 2 months later and AP..This no one knows ####### is just that #######. You would seriously think they would do these damn visa in order..People who applied after us got it months before us? Yesterday was our one year of being married spent it working, and being depressed. That goes to say I worked 2 jobs, paid my taxes, I don't ask no one for help, I do everything on my own. I don't rob banks, or sell drugs. And another thing I am sorry Paris Heart..really I want to cry for you as well. Try so hard to do things right and spend so much heart and soul in a relationship and at the end of this journey its lonley, and depressing. Wake up daily prayin to God to help you. I am wondering when is a good time to jump off a bridge and call it a year..

I totally understand your reasons not that you have to give anybody any. I should be making an omlette and getting ready for class but I couldn't resist today making a comment reading the thread. My Mom comes tomorrow and leaves the next day. It's homecoming weekend though she didn't plan to be here for that. lol! And I'm afraid that now that we passed 8 weeks that we're moving into the 5-6 month range for the visa in hand. In five to six months my whole world as I know it is going to change.

Oh no don't say that Flower....we could be soon..inshallah. I seriouly will be honest I will not wait 5 or 6 months..I will sell everything I own and move to Egypt. Work on the corner sellin bread or eggplants I grown from a window..I dont care.. I refuse to sit here alone for 5 or 6 months and watch the season change..LAA

Hello everyone, we recieved an email today stating that the visa has been issued and we will recieve it in 2 weeks. I checked DHL and this is what it says......

We're at 8 weeks. They updated us the same status on DHL today which makes the 8th one. After reading Hot Guy's thread on how he's been in AP for three quarters of a year coming out of Cairo I'm a bit depressed at this point. I might be offline for awhile because I need to study. So don't be surprised if I'm gone for some time. I'll come back and check in and post the visa in hand thread but until then we're in Administrative Final Review. I just hope it's not nearly three quarters of a year like Hot Guy's.

Flower have you heard anything..I called DOS and all she said is just wait...no updates nothing just wait...so I dont know whats going on..Contacted Senator maybe they will have better luck than me.

Flower have they told you that you was in AP or do they just keep saying AR cause thats mainly what they told me..and DOS told me today also that everyone goes through security checks at this point. There is no way around it. Alteast they are tellin you final review that would almost give me some hope back..

well Flower we still gettin pertty much the same thing just a longer email, this is the last one and it was on the 15th..The case is still pending the officer's review. We will process the case to conclusion once that is completed. We sent a gentle reminder to the consular officer in charge of the case. I have called DOS before and she said to contact my congressman. Seems like when I do call they act confused for some reason with his case and 90% of them say they don't see no updates and never say he is in AP. I just called and she was lookin around and she said it does not say he is in security checks .....dont know they know this? I dont think he is in AP i think its AR and I think cairo is being slow and Monday I am calling the congressman. There is no reason for this..I am so sick of this ####### its unreal. He has nothing on him and I was at the interview with him we lived together 9 months out of the last year, wish they would just let him come home to me...

Kenza we're waiting too. Ours was picked up the same day of the interview but there has been no movement. I haven't been stalking DHL because I was thinking it would be 2-3 weeks like they said. This is really amazing about Cairo and no AP thing all in a row.

Ours says shipment picked up at 9am but we didnt even have the interview til closer to 10:15am. I am hoping you get yours soon cause we was told 2 weeks too. You get yours I might trust what she told us. I just worry they lie...

Thank you all for the congrats. I am not sure whats going on either and I am sure not gettin my hopes up. I asked her straight up I said is he going to be in AP, she said No, she said some word I cant remember but meaning it was going to be made in 2 weeks then sent out. When we was sitting there waiting for the interview I heard one of the men giving the interview and he said to this egyptian guy we are puttin you in AP. So, I have no idea if our interview person was just wantin us out of the way or was confused. I do wonder if it is random, or it depends on your interview officer. I guess we will see in 2 or 3 weeks too.

We had the interview today and just got back home. He was approved. Said there was no AP and it will be done in 2 weeks. So, dont know how true that is but hoping so..Want my husband to come home with me. Just wanted to let everyone know. If anyone has questions or anything just message me. I will post a review once he gets his visa so everyone will know what happen. Glad this is almost over....

Well his interview is in 2 days so I am making sure I dont miss anything. I got letters that are recent from my address in the states. And I can print off bank statements. So, Hope all this is enough. Thanks for your help.

Ok Lover500 said proof of residence. I have been in Egypt for like 5 months, what should I take to prove it?

Granted, our experience is now nearly 4 years old, but at the time, the embassy *thought* we forgot to include something, so they sent the packet back to us and asked us to send it back with all the information. That was only a few days after sent it.

I wouldn't send something in seperately, because I honestly wouldn't trust them to put it with your file.

But then, our experience with the embassy staff showed they were completely and totally incompitant, so I'm a bit biased. In addition to returning our packet 3, asking us for a document that was clearly *in* the documents they returned to us, thus causing a delay and costing us more LELELE, when AbuS had his interview, the initial interviewer couldn't find his folder and claimed his interview wasn't that day. Then after he found it, he went through the packet 3 and started throwing things in the garbage! Then, another person came to interview him and asked where forms x y and z were. AbuS tried to tell him they were in the garbage, but they made him fill them out again

Well we just got the packet 3 today. The person said we could go ahead and mail it before we got it. They claimed they didnt have his address or phone number which is on all the paperwork. So, we have been approved for like 2 months and still keeps going this way. If they want to send it back soon I am good with that. I figure they would anyways since I forgot that. But I just dont want it to take another month to get an rfe.

May be you can call the embassy and ask what should be done. Call 0227972200 From Monday to Thursday, From 1:00 to 4:00 pm. You'll wait long on the phone, but they should answer you in the end. Or just email them on consularcairoiv@state.gov, they should come back to you with a reply in a day/few days...

Thanks Aya, I called and I was running out of min on the phone so I guess I will tomorrow. Yeah I will probley just wait til they send me a letter wanting it or call them again tomorrow. This really is a bummer. Looks like I am stayin in Egypt longer for his interview. Wonder how long do RFE take to get in the mail?

I think you my get request for evidence and if you don’t get it and you have your interview date set make sure to take it with you to the interview so you will be in the safe side.

I wonder if I could go ahead and send it to them. Maybe with a letter and the case number explainin what happen and if they can add it to the packet?

Yeah, I forgot the marriage cert. copy! What do I need to do, send it to them or can I take it to the interview? Or are they going to send the whole thing back?

My husband has been approved for 2 months now and no packet 3. I am fixin to call them today and tell them I am sending his paperwork in. Or just thought about doing it. Was told on the 14th of this month that it will come shortly and its been 2 weeks already and nothing. And I can't find anything that says it happened to others like this. So, I can understand being frustrated. Getting pretty angry at the current moment.
