I'm new to the K-1 procedure - I just sent in the I-129F petition last week to the Vermont Service Center.
I have a question about the place where my fiance applies for his visa. He is a Colombian citizen who works in India, so I wrote on the I-129F that he would apply in New Delhi for his visa. However, now that I understand how long the process can take, I was wondering if it would be difficult to change the embassy where he applies, and how long it would take to get the people at USCIS to change the address? If it takes so long, his visa in India will expire, in which case he'd need to go back to Colombia and apply for the visa there.
Any stories of similar situations would be much appreciated! Thank you for your help.
