  1. Many Many congratulations Marijke :dance: I was waiting to hear from you :) Glad everything went well!! I was thinking of leaving our skype logs and take only phone bills,,, but i guess i will take them to be on the safe side :)

Anyways, have a smooth POE!! Best wishes for your life ahead!!

    Thank you very much aui2010 !!!!!!! :dance::dance:

Yeah i don't think you can ever take to much info, if they don't request it good...if they do request it and you don't have it...:bonk: .

So have you recieved any information from the embassy about the stroller/diaperbag question ?

Hope your interview goes as smooth as mine, i know how hard it is as a mommy to go through this process by yourself!!

Good luck, we will be praying for you!!!

    Congratulations Marijke!

Thank you OBX... it is a wonderful feeling huh :)!!!

  2. So i am very happy to announce that my visa has been APPROVED !!!!!!!

I can pick my passport up on the 15th and our flights haven been booked, we are flying to Alaska on the 21st :)))))!!!!

Ok so our daughter is going to have her first birthday without daddy, but a few days after that we will be together again!

So the interview itself was pretty nerve wrecking just cause it seemed to take forever...

My appointment was at 2pm, but i made sure i was there an hour ahead...so did lots of other people  .

So by the time it was my turn an hour and half had past... Finally got inline inside the embassy and a lady asked if ther was anybody for immigrant visa...

Happy to say that i was the only one who said yes :), so i had to go up to the window and she had a bunch of papers in front of her....She asked me for the medical results and made me swear that everything in the paperwork and what i was about to say is the truth!

I said i swear and she went over all the paperwork with a checklist to make sure nothing was missing! Big releave everything was there :)!

She told me to take a seat again and that later on they would call me to get fingerprinted...half an hour later fingerprints and got asked to sit down again.

So i was really stressing out from all the waiting... about an hour later, called me up to the window again for the actual interview...

They asked me all sorts of questions:

    -where did you meet?

-How long before you mett in person ?

-how many times did you fly out there ?

    -marriage date ?

-where did you get married ?

    -who where your witnesses ?

-What does your husband do for a living ?

-Do his parents like you and visa versa ?

    -...

    -...

She also wanted to see our pictures, albums and asked how we communicated: printed out skype history...

So finally she said ...well for me you passed. I thought FOR ME...so is someone else going to interview me know ????!!!!

Are you taking turns tormenting people ???!!!

So i asked does this mean i am approved and she said yes!!!! :))))) pick up passport next week woooohhhhooooooo :))))

    So

  3. Im american military in afghanistan and my wife is filipino living in the philippines. We were married in the philippines in feb. 2010 and we want to get her visa issued by the time i leave afghanistan so she can come straight to the states. Im so confused about this whole k-3 visa process... Do i need to submit both the I-130 and the I-129f? Because from what it sounds like is that the I-130 is for immigrants and the I-129f is for non-immigrants.. but everywere I look for instructions on what to do says that you you have to file both? Any help or past experience would be appreciated..

We started our K3 process last year, we submitted both our I-130 and The I-129f... Our I-130 petition was approved when the I-129f petition was still pending. When this happens you automatically go from the K3 route to the IR-1 CR-1 route.

And it says in your detalis that you are filing for IR-1 CR-1 not the K3. So for this visa you do not have to submit the

I-129f. Read the guides for the IR-1,CR-1...

    Good luck

  5. Hi all, me and my year old son will be appearing for our ir1 interview at the islamabad embassy on the 17th of this month insha'Allah...Just wanted some feedback on if anyone has had any experience of taking prams/strollers inside the embassy in islamabad? Are they allowed inside the embassy? Also, will they allow you to take baby food/diaper bag inside with you?

    Thanks

p.s. i didnt get any response on this from the embassy forum...so posting it here...

    Hey aui2010,

I have no idea about the US Embassy in Islamabad... but i can tell you about my experience in the USE here in Belgium...

I think all the USE will have a general security policy...

So we had to go to the Embassy to report the birth of our daughter last year and we were not able to take any food/diaper bag beyond security. When my daughter needed to be fed we had to go back to the secure area to feed her there...

(cold milk...), but we were allowed to grab a diaper and change her in the bathroom of the Embassy.

We had no problem taking our stroller in...

    Hope this helps...

Good luck on the upcoming interview!:)

  6. After completing and sending the initial package of forms, proofs, documentation for a IR-1, CR-1 Spousal Visa application for my Kenyan Wife. I am confused as to the subsequent forms that are requested..are they sent to me, the U.S. Citizen in the USA, or to my Wife in Kenya? I know for a fiancee visa the foreign fiancee gets a "packet" from the local to her US Consulate/Embassy, and I would have to send my proof of income to her to submit along with her medical at the interview. But what about the IR-1, CR-1 Spousal Visa, does she not get a packet local to her? Do I get everything, and then have to send things to her to fill out? The guide here is just not clear to me.

I (the beneficiary) never received any package with papers to fill in during this whole process, neither did my husband!

We waisted a lot of precious time waiting for instructions/ packages during this journey.

I would say read the IR-1, CR-1 guides and start gathering and assembling everything so you have it all ready when your I-130 petition is approved!

    Good luck

  7. Hi all, new user.

I am a US citizen and got married in March to a Belgian national. We met when she was one vacation here and we have been visiting each other since, she also studied in Canada for a year. We got married here in the US and submitted a form I-130 petition for alien relative, she is back in Belgium while we are waiting and we plan to approach her green card by doing consular processing.

Right now the I-130 is still under review and we are awaiting the decision. The estimate given from the USCIS site at the time we submitted was 6 months processing time, it has been almost that long now. She is just finishing up her studies and will be ready to come to the US soon.

    My question is this:

Is she allowed to travel to the US on the visa waiver program while we are waiting for the decision on her I-130? Will she still be able to visit once the I-130 is approved and it starts moving to the consular processing phase? She will obviously have to go back to Belgium once they ask for an interview and for her medical exam and biometrics and stuff like that. But, we are just interested in if she can come visit during the waiting time.

    Hi,

I have no idea about travelling to the US when the I-130 is still pending, but i'm pretty sure that it won't be a problem.

Our daughter and i spent almost 3 months in the US after the I-130 was approved, they didn't ask me any questions at US customs or anything :)...so no problem there.

If you have any questions about the paperwork, medical or interview here in Belgium feel free to ask.

Good luck on your journey :)

  8. Not to get your hopes down, but we got the same checklist...NVC received our new birthcert. on the 28th of june and it took them 6 weeks and 2 days to complete our case. We now have an interview date for september 7th.

I hope for you now that the summer vacation is nearly over things are speeding up again at the NVC...but i think it's gonna be an October interview :( .

    Good luck

  9. Most of the reactions where coming from women...i assumed wrong guys, sorry guys: ...

I guess that there is always one person in the relationship that is better at paperwork...so i guess that person (man or woman) is put in charge...with the help and support of the significant other :).

Congratts to all who have succesfully ended this journey and good luck to all still travelling!!!!

  10. Thank you all for responding :)...It seems that mostly the woman are in charge of handling the majority of this visa process :innocent: ...or am i wrong. In my case if i would of lett my husband do anything besides pay the bills and get angry at the operators this journey would of taken at least 4 years :bonk:! Not that i didn't make mistakes  , i had this account since 2009 and if i would of found my way back a bit sooner this process would not have taken so long. I am gratefull for this site and all the people who have helped us  !!!

  11. Just out of curiosity ...i was wondering who all you VJers are ? Are you the beneficiary or the petitioner ?

In my case i'm the beneficiary... my husband doesn't have the patience or the time to deal with all the paperwork that this visa journey involves...so i took it up on myself to gather, inquire and find out what needed to be done to bring this journey to a good end ?

So who are you guys, who did all the legg work...who is on here ?

  12. When i sent in my DS-230 my package contained our marriage certificate + translation. I got a checklist a few weeks later from NVC saying that my mariage cert. was not original or a certified copy....tssss ( sent in the same thing with the I-130 never got any complaints on that one  ). So i sent them another mariage cert.+ translation and an extract from the mariage registers...the international one. Result case completed... If i was you i would send in both to be sure!

  13. I am not expecting anymore for an interview appointment for the month of September.... :help:

I'm sorry to hear you haven't recieved any news yet...it seems like your Embassy has alot more intervews to schedule then mine coz our cases got completed a day apart. Hope they lett you know something soon and that you get an interview date for early october!!!!!! Good luck and don't lett it get you down...you are almost there!!!!!

  14. Good luck aui2010 :)!!!

I just had my medical done yesterday...The medical excamination took about 20 min....my whole trip took about 9 hours.

Pfff long, exhausting day and i have to take that same trip again next week to pick up the results!

    What i brought with me:

    -2 passport pictures

    -My ID

    -My vaccination history

-The questionnaire that needed to be filled in

-A few papers of medical history that i got from my doctor

    ...thats about it i think

    The medical itself:

He just asked me some questions...like do you have any mental disorders, how is your general well being,...

Then he took some blood, took my bloodpressure and sent me off to the Radiologie department.

See you next week when you come to pick up the results...and that was it.

  15. Thank aui2010 he/she made the list,i just added you guys :)

  17. I don't know if I'm in the correct forum but I'll ask anyway, my wife and I have been given our NOA2 (I-130 & I-129) petition accepted as of Yesterday, I was emailed and told I will receive my acceptance mailed to me but I have no clue how long I have to wait for an interview, if I need an interview at all, can anyone clear up my dilemma?

I guess I would like to know something about the average time scale between now and when I can expect to purchase a plane ticket to fly over to my wife, I live in the UK if that has any relevance.

If your I-129f was approved before your I-130 petition you are still on the K3 visa route ttp://www.visajourney.com/content/k3guide, this is IR-1/ CR-1 forum...but that doesn't matter. Yes you will have an interview and before that you will have to have a medical.

I f i were you i would not book a flight before your interview, you never know what might happen! I have mine on the 7th and i will book my flight as soon as i'm approved. Sorry don't have an estimated time for you all departments have been delayed for weeks...but they are slowely starting up again.

    Hope this helps
