  1. I am in the same boat. The NVC mailed to the consulate on March 5, and I saw that all packets sent within 3 days to Rio de Janeioro were received. I have emailed the consulate three times and they note that there is no record of getting my case. So, I called the NVC to ask what the hell is going on. The guy who I spoke to noted that even though they got the case, they may have not entered it into their systems yet. They got mine on 03/11/10 and still have not got it into their system... complete bs if you ask me. In the meantime, I am going to email them every few days until they tell me they have it. The pleasures of dealing with the U.S. gov't :)

This is prob the same with you case...

My fiancé called them yesterday and they said they sent it off on March 5.

  2. Hey,

I got the exact same email noting that they have not received the case. My fiance is worried that I will anger them if I keep emailing :) Some form of cruel punishment.

I think I will email them again on Thrusday night to give it another try. I am dying to see my daughter, so every day counts!

On that note, do you think that requesting an interview via email will speed up the process?

Thanks guys, it is comforting to hear others experiences and know that my processo is not lost in the mail or something,

    Brad

Was pretty different experience to me. I would sometimes get my e-mails answered on the same day even. It took me two, and then the third had the interview date. This was in November though.

When I called NVC, they said the case traveled to Rio on November 19th, and gave me the RDJ number, which is the number your case will be known as in Rio. I got my e-mail answered with the date on December 2nd. I can't recall when I got the letter itself, but it was before the 10th, since this was the day I took the medical and I took the letter with the RDJ number on it, just in case.

Anyway, I'd say to politelly keep trying. I would send an e-mail every two days, exact same thing:

    Bom Dia,

    The negative answer was:

I am sorry it is in portuguese, but I once wrote the e-mail in english and they answered in portuguese, so I guess they prefer to comunicate this way since my e-mail adress is my last name, so by deduction they probably knew they were talking with the "brazilian person" of the process.

    What is says:

Negative answer: We don't have it yet, please keep waiting to receive our correspondence or call NVC.

Positive: We have your process, interview date is XX/XX/XXXX. Notification has been sent, please wait.

One more thing. How many days after they received your package from NVC did you email them?

It has been 5 business days since they signed for it...

  3. Hey guys,

We got our NOA2 on 02/24/10, NVC received out approved K1 on 03/02/10 and they say it was sent to the consulate on 03/04/10 or 03/05/10. That being said, I tracked all packages going to Rio de Janeiro on March 3, 4, 5, and 8th where I can see that they all have been signed for and received.

I emailed the consulate last night to request an interview date. We have a 6 month old child, so for us, getting this moving is pretty urgent :)

The consulate replied today saying that they do not have a record of receiving this case. I guess that it can take a couple weeks to process and get into the system, but I hope that others (preferably from Brazil, but all are welcome) can share how long this took for them? Just hoping that this is not lost in the mail or something crazy.

    Thanks guys,

    Brad

  4. Hey Brazil Nov'09 Filers:

I got my NOA2 on 02/24/10 and know that the NVC sent my applicaiton to Rio on 03/05/10. I went to DHL and saw that they received the package on 03/11/10. I just got an email from the consulate in Rio stating that they have not got it yet. Have any of you heard anything and got the Packet 3 yet? Just curious as I want to get things moving and do not like hearing that they signed for the package, but do not say so when I asked via email.

Let me know where you are and what your experiences have been.

    Thanks,

    Brad

  5. In the December 2009 group from CSC waiting on our NOA2 approval.

My petition includes two minor children. Do you think the background checks take longer when there are children in addition to the Fiancee?

My fiance has one child from a previous marriage and we have one together. That being said out case was just as fast, if not faster than others who applied when we did.

  6. Hey,

My i129f was just approved. My fiance has one child from a previous marriage who is 5. You do not need a g325 for him. We did however include a certified copy of his birth certificate and of his passport that were officially translated into English (only birth certificate, we figured copies of the passport were enough).

Additionally, be sure to include on the application that there are children of the beneficiary.

    That should do the trick.

    Brad

  7. This is getting out of hand already. I got my NOA1 on Nov 10 and to see January filers getting approved just sucks.

There is no method to the madness... I have even seen someone from Venezuela approved who filed after us. I would think that countries where the US has good relations would make for a faster approval... the wonders of USCIS (nothing against Venezuela, but come on).

My daughter is 5 months old , every week counts...

  8. Hi VJ,

I have submitted my I-129F in November and am eagerly awaiting a response. I aim to have my fiance, newborn baby girl and her child from a previous marriage come to live with me by the end of March. Needless to say, there are a million things that I am working on to ensure that when they arrive we will be all setup.

My daughter was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil in September. One of the first things that I did was get her an American passport at the consulate. This was a very tiresome given that fact that I am engaged and not married. A paternity test was one of the requirements which cost an arm and a leg. My fiance also has an amazing 6 year-old from a previous marriage who will be coming to the States as well.

When my daugher was born we applied for a social security number. This request was sent to Argentina for processing and we have not heard back yet, so no social just yet (am following up).

This leads me to insurance. I did not report the birth of my child to my insurance company within 60 days of birth as I was out of the country and was dealing with a host of other documentation issues (if you have had a child overseas, you know what I mean).

I currently have Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance through my job. My question is how will I be able to get my fiance, child and her child from a previous marriage onto my insurance plan? I believe that the registration period for changes to the plan has passed. Will I be able to get them on prior to marriage? Will I be able to enroll my fiance's child (I am not the biological father)?

If anyone has any experiences that they can share, I would greatly appreciate it.

I still have a good two months before they arrive and would like to have this resolved beforehand.

    Thanks,

    Brad

  9. After 2 months of getting everything together I finished my I-129F petition packet today. And will be sending it in tomorrow morning...

Happy Thanksgiving to Everyone..... Thanks to the many people who helped me put my 45 page petition together over the past 2 months.........

Little update - I got my NOA1 on November 10, my I129F was last touched on November 16 and no action since then. I have seen several peoples petitions get processed and delivered a NOA2 in a little over a month in October at VSC. I know that the holidays are approaching and fear that things are going to slow down over there. Another thing is that I checked the list of people ahead of me on the processing times and I am number 252 :(

Our petition reall covered all the bases and we probably overdid it with the amount of evidence we included. I think that having a daughter with your fiancé helps, I hope that those at the VSC agree.

At this point, there is not much to do but check their site everyday and to sit tight. Tough when your 3 month old daughter is 5000 miles away. Such is life...

  10. Just sent the package off today... Wish us luck!

Unfortunately there is this sinking feeling in my stomach that not having pictures is going to bite me in the butt.

(based on comments on this forum, the likelihood is super high). However, if I didn't send it today until after another trip(I've been to China twice in the last year, for a period longer than a month), would have to wait another 6 months(time issue not money)

I think I'm going to just hope for the best and if I get those RFE, I'll plan that trip earlier.

Got my NOA1 in the mail yesterday, dated 11/10/09 (one day after I mailed it)...

Now the waiting game for NOA2... not much I can do at this point... will keep you posted.

  11. The back of my check has an NOA1 date of Nov. 6, the same day it was received at the VSC, but still no hard copy! Ack! This whole thing is turning me into such a nut, frantically checking the USCIS website and VJ several times a day!

My check is in clearing right now... it is in the process of being cashed. A good sign that they accepted the package (i.e. I didn't miss any signatures or anything)... Sent on 11/09/09, delivered at VSC 11/10/09 check cashed 11/13/09. So far, so good. Looking forward to seeing the check when it is formally cashed tomorrow and I can get my case number!

    Here we go!

    Brad

Beware, Brad! As soon as I got my case number I think I became some sort of USCIS addict. I check the website every few hours. Not sustainable behavior if this is going to be months in processing... But hopefully we'll all get through in 20-some days like those lucky Octoberians! Here's good luck to all of us to be with our loves speedily!

So, the case number on the back of my check is really tough to read. I must have read it incorrectly b/c the case number I input pulls up someones I-130. The first three digits behin with EAC (filed in VT), but about 2 of the other 10 are indecipherable. Looks like I will have to wait until I get the noa1 in the mail.

This is annoying :) I can see that I need to be patient! My fiancé and I have a child together and quadruple checked our application, if they don't approve us, then I don't know who they will approve!!

  13. Received NOA1 in the mail yesterday :) Anybody else?

Haven't received the hard copy of the NOA1, but my check was cashed this morning! Hopefully that means I can log in and check my status now. There are heaps of numbers on the back of the check - does anyone know which is the case number?

Mine was sent on 11/09, received on 11/10 and no action yet... has only been one day and a public holiday at that, but was surprised to see you check get cashed today. Lucky you. From what I have seen on here, the I-129F's are being processed very quickly in November... let's hope this keeps up!
