  1. Ur right. I guess my GC is coming in the mail soon. I received the approval email last night! Thanks for taking taking time to reply!

Personally my solution would be this: Your AOS papers are correct. SO if you get the GC with the information incorrect, you can:

    - show them where on your paperwork it says your birthdate (this is the most impt proof)

    - show them your passport

    - show them your birth certificate (a copy of which you SENT)

therefore getting a free replacement GC at THEIR cost because it's now their error because they didn't follow the AOS paperwork and you have the evidence.

You should get your GC soon enough so there's no need to bother fixing the EAD.

That's what i'd do anyway. Good luck!

  3. I received my EAD card in the mail a couple of days ago. I noticed right away that my date of birth was wrong but I wasn't too concerned about it... until yesterday when I went to the SSA (Social Security Administration)to change my name in my SS card. The SS officer told me there might be a problem if the infos in their system dont match but she accepted my application to change name and told me to wait in the mail on what to do next.

I came home and looked at the copies that I made before I sent out my AOS package and I found out that it was an error on my part. I called the USCIS hotline and asked if there is anything that I can do about it. They told me that if it was USCIS's mistake, i can re-file at no cost but if it was my mistake, I could still re-file but I have to pay the fee ($340) but the process, nevertheless, would still be the same as filing all over again, 90 days and all.

I am caught in a limbo. I dont want to pay $340 and then find out that my AOS is approved tomorrow or in the next days BUT then again, there is no guarantee when the AOS will really get approved. The good news is, I filled out my AOS forms correctly. I thought about getting an infopass and ask how I can go about to at least have my DOB changed in the system file. Oh gosh, I dont know.

  4. I got my EAD card in the mail today. I guess when u start venting in here u see good results in the next couple of days

My birthdate information is incorrect though, they put june 28 instead of june 26. i wonder if that should matter... Anywhoo, I am still glad that I finally got it. I'll give it 2 more weeks and then I'm gonna start whining about my GC here and find out if I get in the mail shortly after that. Teeheehee...

  5. It is seriously getting frustrating. I'm still waiting for my EAD that apparently got approved the third time on the 18th of this month. I need it so bad so I can finally be a part of the society. I want to work, I want to be able to drive on my own and actually do things that I want. I passed by nursing board exam last month here in the US, fortunately for me the nursing home in town badly needs nurses asap.Even the hospital next town has 3 open positions for nurses! I am getting antsier by the second, literally! Unfortunately for me, I don't have the freaking EAD yet. Sorry, I am justventing. Well, just my luck, I guess.

  6. Hi Dave and Melanie

we received this update after a notification of transfer to CSC too...online it says 'The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office', but the email notification we got says:

'Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred. The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office'

so I am hoping that it means it is pending at CSC. I called the USCIS today but they didn't really shed any light on where the case is.

Has anyone else received a notification like this?

Same thing happened to me and i have no idea what it means

  7. It has been 2 mos since my I-94 expired and we are just starting to gather all our AOS documents this week. I feel nervous about staying here in the US without legal status and so i just want to sumbit the AOS package just to get it started.

The problem is that our co-sponsor is does not live in the same state and sending forms through snail mail takes awhile, would it be okay to send in my husband's affidavit of support and wait for an RFE and then send in our co-sponsor's affidavit of support later on?

  8. hi to all..........anyone from minnesota? want to have more friends here....pm me or let me know maybe we can keep in touch and get together... thanks

MEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We should meet! Seriously. Please? Lol. Desperate much? Yes. P

    PM me :)

  9. The application is valid for 12 month. NVC will close the case if you do not complete the process. If the IV Fee Bill has been outstanding since 2007 then it is already too late. A phone call to NVC and talk to an officer will tell you for sure if the case is now closed. If it is then you will need to start from the begining with a new I-130.

thank you. i called the NVC as suggested. ur right its only valid for a year, although, the lady i spoke with said she can reset it and send my parents a new updated billing. thank you for ur help, guys. :)

  10. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

Pano ba yan? kitakits nalang next year...joke! tagal kasi ng case#ko e...nakaka-baog!

Uy,pag nsa amerika na kayo....dont change ha?!! dalaw dalaw lang dito!!

why not, dba? kitakits tayo dun :)

did u try emailing NVC yourself? cuz thats what I did and i got a reply from them in a few days with our MNL case number.

good luck, sis. i hope u get your case number soon. AND thank you to all who congratulated me. GBU!

  11. Congratulations!!!

Maybe now it's time to change your screen name. :P

    Tahoma & Chinook

not yet, sis. waiting for the visa to get delivered is as dreadful and nerve wrecking as the interview! lol

thank you to all who congratulated me :)

  12. if she was told to go back to slec for vaccines, most likely she passed the medical exam.

sputum tests are usually done when there is an anomaly in the x-ray result e.i. a scar plus if she tested positive on the skin test. somehow, they automatically suspect exposure to TB and they are very ####### about that. if the x-ray result is clear, there should be no further tests like sputum culture or skin test.

psych evaluations as far as i have read around here are usually done to those who have scars on their wrists (they check for this during physical exam)

  13. So this is how it feels like :D

"Happy" would be an understatement. It's a feeling of euphoria (not that I know how it really feels like being high haha)

Finger scanning sucked big-time. My left hand was not participating. I made a point not to put on lotion but then my hands were sweaty (they usually arent) I was nervous as hell, can you blame me? :P

The pre-screener was not so friendly. She greeted me back with a good morning but she hardly smiled. Anyhow, she asked me how we met and the word "introduced" came out of my mouth and she was quick to say "You were introduced??" Ugh, i knew that was a wrong move but then I was not going to lie or make up another story.lol

Interview took no more than 5 minutes. The consul asked me how we met, how he ended up being in the Philippines in the first place and what he does for a living. There was no trick question whatsoever, he has my files - he would glance at them once in a while and ask me something. He asked in a confirmatory manner. Finally, he said "I have no more questions for you. Your visa is approved. Blah blah blah...."

This website has helped me a LOT. There were people who showed up that didn't know they were suppose to pay for a visa fee! They were asked to reschedule their interview.

    Tips:

It is important to have all the forms filled out beforehand to avoid delay.

Take note of the number of forms you are suppose to bring. (2 copies of DS156, 1 DS156K etc...)

Answer only what is asked. Less talk, less mistake.

Don't get pissed if your fiance doesn't reply right away when u text him the good news. He's probably just sleeping! haha!

    Pray. Pray. Pray.

  15. Thanks for posting this thread....(will it be okay if its not me who did the craziest thing for love but my husband?)

    Anyhow,here's the story.....

we met thru a friend in california, technically we are introduce online...we plan of meeting for the first time on May 2008, so everything is already planned....First week of May...I wasnt that excited because it still February (so 2months to go...)

One saturday morning, April 19, 2008...our maid called me and told me that someone's looking for me...(I'm wearing contacts because I dont have 20/20 vision, but I'm not wearing my contact lens that time...so all my surroundings are blurry! ) a guy standing infront of the gate holding a bunch of Flowers told me "Delivery for Ms.Mariel" since i cant read it....i called teh maid and she read the card for me...."Dear Luv, you are really so gorgeous in person......and i am so lucky to have you"

And I was like " what the?" There goes my Prince Charming! loveshower.gif

    Well,

    AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW hehehee!

  16. My fiance would call me each morning that he wakes up but often times he is still half asleep lol.

One morning, he called me and he sounded like he was still in deep sleep but managed to pick up the phone and said "hello, baby..."

I was very excited to tell him how my day went and so I did, when I got done talking I heard a soft snore on the other line.lol

I didn't want to be rude or hang-up without saying the usual "good-bye" and "i love you" and so I read to him my entire 20-page project and sang about a gazillion of songs.lol He woke up about after an hour and "Hey, baby. How are you?" LOL
