I do not think your number will change, mine did not change after I change my last name and it took about a week to get the new card bearing my new name but the number stayed the same

We applied for an name change on our social security card after our marriage, we haven't received the newer one yet but we were wondering if the number on the new card will remain the same as the number on the old card. we would like to start using the number but we're worried that the new card will come with a different number. Can anyone help us out with this please?

just talked to an operator and she told me that they will generate one for me today.

Isn't it nice that at least at NVC you can speak to the operator to try to find out what's happening? More often than not you get someone nice (even if they can't give you the IIN#!) In Vermont everything just sat there and you never had a clue what was going on! Once that is generated and you send and get the DS-3032 accepted everything else happens pretty quick!

i get it right, it can be very frustrating when no one wants to talk to you. i was kind of surprised myself the way the operator talked to me politely, she politely told me that she cannot give me the IIN # but was helpful in letting me know whatz up with my DS3032, maybe she sensed the desperation in my voice or she was just nice and doing her job respectfully.

peter u just need to check the AVR, and i think it must be generated since ur case got there on the 27,u can check with an operator,if it was generated u can email it and mail it too, i advise u to use priority mail good luck

Hi there peters,

I think most of us are following the LingChe NVC ShortCut which explains everything. Instead of waiting, basically when you call and get confirmation that the forms/bills along each step of the way have been generated then you go ahead and download/fill out the forms (including barcodes) yourself and skip waiting on the mailing times. Chek it out! And good luck at NVC!

Ditto, these guides will really help but it is important not to send or try to pay anything until it has been generated. You can make your own barcode for the DS-3032 (see the guide) and once NVC says it has been generated you can email and send the hard copy in (signed by the beneficiary).

Then you need to wait for the IIN (invoice identification number) to pay any generated bills online. Again wait until they have been generated. Once paid from the online site you will be able to print a bar-coded cover sheet to send in with each package (I-864 and DS-230).

Just take it one step at a time. We are all going through it together so we can help each other. Good luck!

I have updated the spreadsheet. I checked this a.m. - nothing generated yet, will try again tonight. Seems to be easier to get through at night. Best of luck guys.

my case number has been assigned on jan 27, but i was told that it may take them 4-6 weeks to get the letters DS3032 AND I-864 I suppose, I asked them if they have mailed it and I was told that they haven't. My question is do I wait to find out if they have send the forms before i download it from online (the short cut)? how will i know if they have send the documents? What do u guys mean by generating the forms, is it the same as the shortcut link to download and mail ahead of time before you receive the official copies that will be mailed by the NVC?

Am I all alone this week? Anyone else approved?

lpr take at least 3 years to get approval after which it can take an average of 1 year for nvc to respond, hope this helps

Anyone who filed for I130 in september is welcome to share their progress. So far i have only received NOA1 and now sinking into depression daily. I am contemplating on filling I129f but it seems like it get approved at the same time with the I130 and creating a conflict of which application to pursue. What are you guys doing about your cases?

I'm married to a man from Nigeria......I'm just curious who of you are still together (those of you who are married to a Nigerian that is) and how long has it been? I'm specifically wanting to know how its all worked out after your SO has come to the states?? I have seen several case where Nigerian males have come to live in the US with a spouse and they left as soon as they were able. Not wanting to judge just want a poll to see how many are successfully still married to a Nigerian. You only hear of the bad cases. Thanks for your help with this.

I think it a good thing to be cautious when it comes to marriage but u are supposed to know the man you are getting married to better than listening to what people say about Nigerians. I am a Nigerian woman and i can tell you categorically that if your man do not live up to expectation it is not because he is Nigerian but because of his own character. I think you should search your conscience very well as regards the reason why you are asking this question. A man can leave a woman and vice versa at any time irrespective of their country of origin. If you are marrying this guy and you are already paranoid of his intentions to marry you I can bet that he will not like to find out. Nigerian men, just like any men, can be loving and caring as well as deceitful. In fact, some Nigerian men do not give a damn about coming to the U.S and leave their family. i was engaged to a nigerian guy for 3 years and he severed our relationship after his case was approved by the NVC b'cuz he did not want to come to the U.S against his parent wish. If he is still waiting for you when he has a choice to marry a woman at home i think you should ask yourself why you think he may leave you. if u want a successful marriage with any foreigner that you will be bringing to the U.S it comes with a risk which does not necessarily mean deceit but cultural differences. If u are of the opinion that he may be a fake i beg you to let it go because it will be degrading for him to find this out. Besides, the law in the U.S can protect you if deceit happened to be his aim, you can always withdraw your application within 2 years, i think 1 year will be enough for u to figure him out if he is a fake. In all, follow your heart and not hearsay or the media portray of Nigerians as scam artists, we are smart and honest people otherwise the U.S wouldn't have given us opportunity to become her citizens
