    Hi Timona.

    Thanks for your reply

    I'm applying for TPS Venezuela.

Hello Carlos, so I would suggest to use personal checks instead of money orders. Also, you want to add all the aforementioned items after the cover letter. That is the usual way of organizing the documents... the cover letter is the first thing you want the person to see and understand what it is being attached to the cover letter. Hopefully this helps!

  2. Hey everyone thank you for the responses.... to be honest, I do not know of a way to track anything... it kind of sucks that if you paid for all the fees prior to arriving to the US, you have no way to track GC, nothing... I see that people who pay the IV fees after arrival can track GC production etc. I guess it's more waiting.... at least the relative is here so that is a big plus!

  3. Hello Everyone, I see that most of the cases here are for folks who paid their VISA fee AFTER arrival... I am curious to know of the folks who arrived to the US recently, as in this year 2021, and paid their fees PRIOR (our case) to arrival because I do not know a way to track green card production unless you paid for it upon arrival. Also, I do not know if the SSC is arriving after choosing the option on the DS-260. Thanks in advance for any experience you can share....

  4. Hello Everyone,

I hope that this message finds you well...I am curious about a couple of things and hopefully some of you who recently, 2021, became US Permanent Residents can help with the following questions:

After US Entry or Arrival on US Immigrant VISA issued by Consulate or Embassy:

1)How long did it take you to receive your green card? (entry Year 2021)

    2) Did you select "YES" on the DS-260, if so did you get your SSC? If not, how did you make it work to get one since the SS-Offices are all closed and only taking "emergency" appointments.

I have been reading the forums for the 2020 year (not a surprise) and apparently, it was a such a mess! In my personal experience, even if you chose the DS-260 option, not a single person I know in over two decades gotten theirs that way (I assume some may have gotten theirs that way)... they always had to go in person and apply at their local SS-Office. The green card arrival upon US entry was a big range between 1 week to 2 years. Anyway... any recent experience/advise is appreciated....

    best regards,

  5. Did you manage to renew your Virginia license with the NOA? We're also in Virginia, so my wife's license expires the same day as her GC.

I have been reading about this instance where people with temporary GC are having issues to renew their licenses. I am in the same boat as you, my wife's DL expires the same day as ger GC, here in GA they make them that way (matching expiration dates). But if we dont get approve before her DL expires I am one who is going to raise hell if they give me problems to renew her license with the NOA1. I would suggest to any person in this same situation to ask and talk to a supervisor and if they dont fix it, talk to someone above them, i.e. a district supervisor or something, because that NOA is as legit as a GC given the circumstances. So the fact that personel at the DMV are ignorant does not justify you or your spouses being deprived from the right to obtain their DL. It's as simple as stating that with no DL this person will be breaking the law by driving with an expired license. Plus if they keep that ignorant attitude ask for a written and signed document where they are denying you to give you a state document by ignoring a federal one like the NOA. I hope that we dont get to any of these uncomfortable situations, but if we are playing by the rules the others have to play by them as well... anyway, I get of my soap box. My wife got her Bio done on the 18th.

    Good luck to everyone!!!

  8. Hello Everyone,

I have been out for a LONG TIME prolly since we finished our AOS paperwork. Anyway, my wife's GC expires on 03/25/2012. So today is the 90th day before it expires; therefore, we are sending our documents tomorrow. I expect to hear something back from USCIS in the form of NOA1 around Jan 10th or so. Can someone please add us to the list of the VSC fillers. The date for sending documents is 12/28/2012. Good luck to everyone!!!

  9. We received the exact same notices/emails, etc. as you. It was like they took a step backwards..hehe! I'm still thinking we will get our actual greencards in the next few days. :)

    Hey guys,

My wife got her PR card today...so I'm sure yours should get to you today or Monday the latest... it looks like we are done until late Dec 2011...good luck to everyone waiting for the rest of your docs...

    Regards,

    TEMP

  10. Hey Guys!!

Just for information... after our e-mail on the day of our interview stating: we have ordered the production of your card, which it was repeated again 5 and 6 days later... we got the letter of the welcome to the US, etc(still waiting for the green card though).. and today the case has a new update stating: Today, we mailed you an approval of your case... etc etc... so I dont know if any of you experimented this situation as well, I am not worried just intrigued on how weird USCIS works....

    The messages where as follow:

Three times in the day of the interview, 5 and 6 days later:

    Current Status: Card production ordered.

On March 30, 2010, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

    Today's:

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

    Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On April 2, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Anyway maybe I'm just bored and wanted to post something on this forum...

    Regards...

  11. RFE for name verification.

My original birth certificate was lost..So before coming to U.S, i re applied for getting the same. But this birth certificate along with english translation is dated for last year. That is where problem is. They want evidence that was dated since before i was 14 years of age. I am compiling following documents that are dated back to those years-

My school report cards since 14 years of age.

    All achievement certificates from school.

Vaccination records since 14 years of age.

What else can i put up to convince them? My I 485 outcome is based on this final evidence. Please help.

I'm sorry you have to go through this much trouble.... I do not know...how is the process of paperwork in your native country. But it seems weird that the government is not taking your birth cert regardless on when was generated. The important thing is that your record exists in the main office of your native city, state or whatever geopolitical distribution your native area has. Now, regarding documents you might want to submit... I agree with the ones you have, but I suggest submitting something similar to a baptism certificate, I do not know which religion you belong if any, but here Americans tend to accept such documents as well...Also, I would think old passports or any other national document similar to driver's license or national ID documents (typical in other countries). If available of course. I hope this info works.

  12. Great news for our fellow filers! Eltemp, we had the same impression from our officer. I think especially since there was some distraction during the interview they wanted to make sure they have given it a thorough review. Glad to hear that you got the news really fast though!! :)

Maybe it is a little uncomfortable, but I felt that it was very strictly professional. I think it is a good thing overall. Just imagine how frustrating this process could be if it was personality driven. I'll sacrifice the warm-fuzzies for fair and impartial adjudication of cases. Also, I think that the recording was started before she actually told us about it - or it is ALWAYS recording or something, because I noticed a slight but noticeable change in demeanor in and out of the office with ours - we had a little more exposure out of the office due to our "RFE errand" she sent us on. Also, the light on the camera was always on, and didn't blink or anything when she said she started recording.

    Yay December filers!

Hey... thanks!!! well I think these people could be objective without being too serious...anyhow...how is it that you guys were recorded during your interview?? in our case unless they guy never told us we were not recorded at all...but good thing we are over this experience... hopefully we'll get the GC soon... I'll posted here as soon as it happens...

    regards to everyone!!!

    TEMP

  13. Thanks for your comments... and as you mentioned we had the same case... around 10 mins ago we got a text msg that my wife's case had been updated... and it showed the production card status.... so I guess we are done for the next two years... I guess my assumption was correct the officer wanted to do something else... it just bothers me that we go through all these trouble, taking days off from work & money that pays for their salary... and these people could not care less...and rather than take his time with us and make the decision, to put us through this anguish, my wife's, and me loosing a couple of years in my life for being such a future anger management training member :P ............anyhow!!! thanks for the encouraging words... and congrats to the other vjers that got their process finished...

good luck to everyone... I will post whenever my wife gets her GC...

    regards,

  14. Hello Everyone...

Well we just got back from the interview... and the person who took care of us... was neither nice nor rude... but he was too serious for my liking... anyway... our app was at 12:45 and we got in there around noon, waited for a couple of mins and the gentleman called us... asked questions about when we meet, her name, my name, etc... then someone came into his office asking him for assistance on some other case, gave him a folder with info, which led to the officer just telling us: "well give me the evidence that you have..." look at a bunch of pics that we gave him and choose a couple and put them in another envelope, then right after he said: "well we will send you our decision over the mail" which of course angered me, but I took a deep breath and just politely thanked the guy and we left... now I am not worried about the decision because honestly, we are not doing anything wrong... but it does anger me that the guy is taking longer to make a decision... and of course my wife is now worried about it... anyway.. I believe that we will get everything soon.... but I am not to happy with my latest experience with an USCIS officer... I will keep you updated on what happens next... good luck to everyone!!

    Regards,

    TEMP

  15. I wanted to wish eltemp good luck tomorrow at their interview!

I was a December filer technically, but joined the January filers because I filed so late in December. I find it interesting that those in the December group whose files got transferred to the CSC have not been approved yet and those in the January group have already started to get approved... I'm sorry this is happening to some of you! I hope you get your approvals quickly!

    Hey Laura & Kyle....

Thanks a lot for the good wishes!! we are doing our final review of documents and tomorrow we'll post our experience...

    Regards,

    TEMP

  16. Eltemp & Nik & Heather

I am delighted to tell you that this morning I received my permanent resident card in the mail. This is ten days after the interview. I suspect this mail was misdelivered. The envelope had been taped (YIKES). This is a rural area and the mail person is usually quite chatty but this morning he/she drove off as if the truck was stolen LOL.

Hope that your card arrives in good time for your journey to be hassle free. Nik & Heather I hope your Phoenix fizzle gets resolved soon too. Best of wishes to all on this

YAY!!! that sounds awesome!!! I hope to have your same outcome.... I am not too worried about the interview, but you never know....hopefully my wife's green card comes out quick!! good luck on the rest of the process... CONGRATSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  17. we had our greencard interview today

it was the easiest thing ever!

the only paperwork she asked for was our passports and she took his advance parole documents

she wanted the EAD card but i explained my husband was hired for a job starting april 14- i asked if it would be ok if he could keep the EAD card just in case the GC didnt arrive on time

    she was so nice

    two thumbs up:dance:

    Hey congrats!!!

Please let us know when you get your green card... my wife's interview is next week... and we are traveling overseas in three weeks, so I hope that the agent allows us to keep the AP... just in case the GC does not arrive on-time......from what i can understand the officer allowed your husband your keep the EAD, correct? Did they stamp your husband's passport?

Good luck on the rest of your journey....

    regards

    TEMP

  18. That's bizarre. But I am hoping to receive the green card today. My husband returns from Jamaica this evening & when checking in for his flight, he (I) had to answer if he's a permanent resident. Well, he IS since it was approved a week ago, but doesn't have anything with him to prove that. I want to have the green card in hand, so that if they ask about it, he can say that it just arrived today & his wife has it just outside.

My backup plan is to have the approval notice with me.

My suggestion is that tell your husband to go through the non-citizens/permanent residents line in immigration, because having the letter does not allow you to come in as a resident, only two options are considered to be allowed documents for it: 1) Permanent Resident Card, green card. 2) Passport Stamp, and from what I understand you do not have either one... it will save him the trouble of an uncomfortable situation... plus I assume he has the AP so there is not issue by traveling with it....

This suggestion comes from the experience of a friend who could not enter as a resident even though this person had the approval letter in hand, this person had to go to the embassy and get a passport stamp in order to re-enter the US....

    Regards,

    TEMP

  19. Hey Guys,

    Couples of things:

    1) Nik+Heather: I am so sorry to hear what happend to you... it is maddening to see how dumb the people involved in the immigration process are... whether are physicians or their staff, the government personel, or any any person that is PAID to do their job, which as we all know in most cases they fail to do a good one! Now, I do worry about what happened to you...here is why... my wife's interview is next week and of course we took her paperwork from the CS in Venezuela to the CS here in USA, and the person at the CS's office seemed to know what to do (the only one in the list, in Atlanta, GA, that knew what a K1 visa was compared to the other ones that said that they must do full medicals). So, I am a bit preocupied of our CS not doing the right thing on the paperwork he gave us in a sealed (which obviously we cannot check) envelope. But if i do recall correctly on the paperwork for the K-1 shows that only parts 1-2-5 should be filled out, so i dont understand this whole part 6... I've had issues with USCIS before of them trying to tell me what the law says, so I have this "Bad" habit of keeping the regulations with me to the interview... and holding them accountable to what is show on the their website....

    2) To the ones that have gone to interviews for their AOS, have any of you gotten your permanent resident card, "green card", yet? If so, how many days after your interview did it take to arrive??? the information would be extremely useful since, we have a overseas trip in mid April...so I want to see if you will get her GC by then....

Thanks for your help and good luck on your journey
