    Hi Everyone,

    I'm starting to get a little antsy...... I've sent the petition for removal of conditions almost a month ago....No check has been cashed as of yet. Should I start panicking already...Is there any way that I can find out what exactly is happening. I phone number to contact.

    My husbands permit has expired. I'm in a lot of stress right now, going crazy just checking my bank account to see if the check has been cashed. Anyone's advice is greatly appreciated, I know most of us are on the same boat :(

    Hi everyone,

    I'm just filling out all my AOS forms and I have some trouble finding what I have to attach to the I-131 form, Application for Travel Document. Can anyone help me? I know I have to include two passport size photos but do I need any more copies of anything else?

    I also have a question about the I-693A do I have to provide that form to the civil surgeon or do they have it in their office. I could not locate it anywhere in this website so I don't know what to do.

    Under the tips for helping you fill out all the documents it states, "I-693, Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status. (if you already have this from your overseas visa interview submit a copy that medical check form......" what is "that medical check form"? did anyone submit anything as proof, a copy of the receipt or anything else?

    Best thing to do is look in the main aos thread for the UK and on I think page 6 is a full list of everything you will need

    I just sent my medical form in that I received at my medical in the UK as they signed the waiver box I did not get it transcribed, seems ok as I got a e-mail saying my ead and ap were approved yesterday and my aos has been transferred to California did not get a ref for only sending in the copy of the medical from the Uk and not sending in the I 693

    Later he went to pay for the interview at BanaMex. He said he had to go several times. At first he forgot his passport at home so he had to go back and get it. When he came back he let them know that he was paying for the interview and he gave them the money in US dollars but they told him that he had to pay in pesos!! :wacko: I thought that he could pay either in pesos or us dollars but I guess not. So then he had to go to get pesos. The total fee he had to pay for the interview was 1900 and something pesos, which is the equivalent of 148 us dollars. So know I'm worried because lately I've been hearing that you pay 171 us dollars. :angry: I guess we will find out tommorrow. This is really frustrating because you can't even trust what the juarez consulate website has posted. In there posting it states you pay 131 us dollars and it says that it was updated on april 2009. But everyone here has been paying around 171 us dollars. I just hope that tommorrow everything will go well.

    Is the $1900MN a special fee for the K-1 visas? Is it a separate fee from the $400 paid to the NVC? The consulate website says nothing about $1900MN in the Packet 4 pdf (linked here).

    Well I don't know it's a special fee but it is a different payment if that's what you mean. This fee is for the interview at the consulate. The consulate website says the fee is 131 US dollars. For some reason though the banks were only accepting mexican pesos at the time my fiance did his visa process. I don't think the link you provided is the correct link for K-1. It says its for immigrant visas not for k-1 process. Are you looking at the K-1 process or at some other visa process? Here are K-1 links

    Sorry I just looked at your profile... you are doing a different visa process. I don't think this information applies to you. I wish I could help you out but I'm not familiar with any other visa process except K-1's. :blush:

    Went to Banamex this morning.... In line at 9:30.. In the consulate immediately.... Approved at 11:52am!!!!!! Now I can breathe again.... Now there is more planning to bring everyone home finally!!!!! Thanks for everyone's kind words and advice. It really helped us all in this process! Best of luck for everyone doing their interviews in the next few days. Hopefully it goes smoothly for you all....

    I got approved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Now the famous dhl wait. Thanks everyone for their support and their knowledge.

    Regarding the payment it was indeed 1900 pesos. It is significantly less now because the dollar now is at 13,50 and a couple of months back got to be around 16.00.

    Either way. Cheers everyone and now I can finally relax.

    Did you also have to pay in pesos? How about for the medical pesos or dolllars?

    For the medical we paid in dollars. I think that the problem is with the bank taking dollars.

    Congrats epifreak!!!!

    After all that stress before and during the interview and finally being approved I got back to the hotel to take a nap. When I woke up it was around 2 and I checked the DHL website and to my surprise the VISA was ready and waiting for me. I just got back from going and picking it up. I'm just so surprised about how lightning fast the interview and getting the visa was. The medical was another story but whatever it's done.

    To answer some of the recent questions.

    They are still not using the DS-160.

    They did ask me for the DS-157.

    At the clinic you can pay with pesos or dollars for the medical exam.

    For the visa fee at the bank you have to use pesos.

    Regarding the questions about the interview. It's pretty much what everyone have posted. In my case it was very fast. I think it was that fast because we sent a huge I-129F that the interviewer was reviewing. The only thing extra he asked were pictures. That was my case, either way come prepared with lots of things.

    Well to answer some of you guys questions pretty much David-J covers it.

    Even though we did take the DS-160 , they asked for the DS-156.( We had both just in case) They didn't ask for any of the Afidavit Supports or anything to demonstrate our financial status. At the interview they only asked him how we met and if we had any pictures. That's pretty much it. He was out pretty early but because he rides the bus it took him a while to get home.

    Nothing out of the ordinary or anything.

    Best of luck tomorrow! Everything should be fine...

    That's really strange about Banamex, we definitely paid in dollars, not pesos. Maybe that's a new policy, who knows! It was also definitely $171 U.S. that we paid but it really fluctuates with the exchange rate, and lately the exchange rate has been really unpredictable, but I do know it was over 2,000 pesos. I've never heard of the costs going down instead of up, but I guess they know exactly how much it is, though, so if it's paid and you have the receipt, you should be just fine.

    Just as an aside, I think I might know why they're doing that at Banamex (the not accepting dollars thing). At practically every bank in Mexico it's become extremely difficult to change dollars to pesos (it's getting worse all the time), and very few banks are now easily accepting dollars if you are Mexican. They would allow me to exchange dollars at a bank (I went to 4 different banks in Merida trying to change my money) and they wouldn't let me do it without my passport. When Marcos tried to do it they said he would have to open a bank account and present a bunch of different documents in order to change money. That might be why they didn't allow him to pay in dollars, just because it's difficult to verify the the authenticity of the bills, and they only let us pay in dollars because I was there with him.

    I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that they did charge him correctly, Its very frustrating and stressing, but hopefully everything will be ok. Thanks for letting me know about the banks and stuff I feel a little better know. Even though I'm still unsure about the cost.

    Hi guys my fiance just came back from the medical exam. So far everything went well.

    He arrived at the clinic early in the morning at 5:40 and there was already a line. He said he was the first one out, around 12,no eye exam, or vaccinations for him. Typical check up, but he said that they first gave everyone a mask and sanatized there hands because of the influenza H1N1 thing. They drew blood and took urine samples, a physical check up, x-rays. He said that for the urine samples they gave him a cup and he had to pee behind a glassed door :blush: He said he was kind of uncomfortable because there was a girl behind the door watching him pee. I thought this was kind of interesting since I don't remember ever hearing about this here on vj. He also said that it was a young lady who did the physical check up. He was asked to undress and stay in his underware, then was weighed and asked questions about if he had done drugs before, if he had any kind of venerial desease etc etc. Then he was asked to fully undress and was physically checked, no touching though.

    I know a lot of you have been asking about what the consulate will be with our interviews now because of the whole flu thing. I will let you know as soon as my fiance goes and he gives me all the details.

    This might be kinda of a dumb question, but hey someone must ask it.

    Do have to wait until the exact date of the interview to go to ciudad juarez. From what I understood is no. The type of visa we're going with is the I-130 (CR-1).

    I know that for a k-1 visa you don't have to wait but for a k-3 visa (Spouse/Husband) I had the impretion that you did have to wait. That's why the give you a specific date. For a k-1 visa we are told we have an open date meaning we can go when we are ready in a lapse of 4 months.

    Thats good i would like to know also, sence i see there is walk in for k1 what about spouse visas lol im doing the spouse visa and its seems like im the only 1 lol :(

    I don't think your the only one. Maybe your the only one in this forum(mostly posts are for k-1), but keep searching in this web. I'm pretty sure you will find others. The spouse visa? Is that the k-3 visa or the CR-1? I think for those you have to wait for them to provide a date for you. I'm not sure since I'm doing the k-1 visa or fiance visa.
