Hey Guys!!!!!!!!!! I went to local field office today to find out my oath day, is on July 17th. Wahoo! But I have a question, do I need to notice or go to SSA to update my SS card information and tell them I'm a citizen by that time?

Thanks guys. I hope they can be faster, because I'm waiting for this to upgrade my wife I-130 to become IR1. I had applied for my wife almost 20 months already, and I still haven't got the NOV2. Good Luck to next in line fahadkhan00 and riosling. Remember to bring everything just in case if they ask for them.

I took the interview yesterday, it was very smooth. Only thing that I had been forgot to bring was my Marriage Certificate. But I passed the test. My interview is 8:10am, got there on 7:50am. Was waiting outside of the building to 8:05am, another 10 min waiting inside the building on interview waiting area. Been called by one of the Officer. First she asked me to rise my right Hand. Then she handed me a paper and asked me to read. "What State got the most people?" then she handed me another and ask me to write " California has the most people" After that she took out a test already been printed out. I can't remember the 6 questions. But she was wrote out my answer. After that she was exactly following the N-400 form and asked me all the questions over and mark out. When she asked me "Are you married?" I said "YES" then she asked me for my Marriage Certificate. I said "I forgot to bring it" She told me she gonna let me know what to do after everything done at the end. At the end, She printed out 2 documents One is "Continuance" and told me to send a copy of my Marriage Certificat with this letter. Another one is "N-652, Naturalization Interview Results" saying that I passed the tests of English and US History and Government. and need to follow the instruction on the N-14, Also showing B which is "A decision cannot yet be made about your application." After all, She told me the way home. Once I get home, I make a copy and ran to post office and send them in by Express Mail. They should get it today before noon. Hope they can resume my application as soon as possible. I have a feeling they gonna take like a month to resume my case. God. So please bring everything just in case.

Whole interview took 15 min. From the time I get in and rise my hand to the officer told me the way out.

I don't think Tampa does same day oaths BigRay. I would think you'll be scheduled for the next Oath ceremony after your interview date at the Tampa Convention Center, which is on 6/11/2009.

Either way keep us up to date and let us know how the interview went. I did my biometrics at Bay Plaza Blvd in Tampa this morning, so I should see my interview letter arrive within the next few weeks.

I got my biometrics taken at Bay Plaza Blvd too, it was pretty fast!!!! 6/11/09 is not bad too. Just can't wait. My interview is tomorrow, I'm the only one taking interview this week in VJ. Will post after I took the interview. Good Luck to everyone.

I don't have the details yet, but passed the interview. Oath was a few hours after the exam. Seems like it depends on local office. Some do it the same day and others do it at a later day.

Had interview 5/11/09. Showed up to the Boston office 5 minutes before appointment time, waited a couple minutes, had 5 quick civics questions, waited 10 minutes, had a quick interview that just went over all the check-box questions from the N-400, waited 15 minutes, signed my photos and left.

Does anyone know whether they allow people to bring cell phones into the JFK Federal Building in Boston? It said "no cell phones" on the fingerprint notice, but not on the interview letter.

China is changing. It will not turn into Democracy right away. It needs time. It's got almost as big as US lands and 4 or 5 times more population than US and most of the people or citizens are not educated. By 2008 March there had 23 towns or villages had election their own Mayor appear. And more than 3 provinces had became Free Market. For me this is a good sign.

Check with uscis.gov, currently in CSC, I-130 for LPR spouse is in the time frame of Feb 08, 2005. In VSC, the time frame is around Jan 18, 2006.

When should LPR I-130 get approved?

Based on the current time frame for LPR spouse I-130 (1/18/2006), it will take another year for your I-130 to be processed if you filed in 12/2007. But if you become a citizen, it will only take few months.

Just go to USCIS.gov and checking for "Processing Times". The processing dates shown there represent the receipt dates of petitions and applications currently being processed by the USCIS Service Center. Find the Service Center that has your petition and it should give you an idea when your petition would be processed.

I know but it's showing the same processing date ever since I started to view it. Current processing time for I-130 (LPR spouse) Jan, 18, 2006 so sad

I had contacted with my attorney on Jan 20, 09. And then he called USCIS at Jan 22 and requested for expedite my case. Yesterday Feb 13,09 I recevied a letter from USCIS saying they denied my attorney request for expedite.

I had applied for my wife for I-130 by 2007. Detail below:

What is the next step should I do? and what will happen to case coming? How this kind of case process? Can any one help please.

we have the same situation. my husband filled I130 for me since oct. 18, 2005

but they only sent us notice of receipt, and nothings follow.

we decide to filled N400 for his citizenship oct. 2008 and this year of february he passed his interview. and just only

waiting for his oath taking.

the next step we plan is to upgrade his petition for me at USCIS.

When should LPR I-130 get approved?

You will need to call the USCIS to let them know you are now a US citizen, they will then ask you for a copy of your naturalized US citizenship certificate and upgrade your petition. After that, it will take a little less than 12 months for your wife to get her visa.

Don't worry about further evidence since your marriage certificate is more than enough proof of your relationship. If the USCIS feels that they need more evidence, they will send you an RFE and you will then submit it to them.

Thank you, I just called my Attorney, he said I should get approved on my case and get NOV2 already he's going call USCIS for me, but since I was applied and filed in I-130 when I was LPR how long it take to get NOV2 if I mailed by October, 2007 and USCIS got it by January 16, 2008?

After you become a US citizen, you can inform USCIS of your new status and ask to upgrade the application for your wife to an Immediate Relative. After that it should take about a year for her to get here.

It's just taking so long. So after I became Citizen, still need to wait another year, Estimated she will be here by June or July 2010....... I wish NVC can storter their process time.

I got the same kind of issue too. I was born in China and then immigrated to HK at 1992, got HK passport (Chinese HK SAR) by 2003. Became LPR in US at 2004. going to be citizen this year. My brother became US citizen 4 years ago. And he got 2 passports (US and HK SAR). Every time when he's going to China (mainland) he's using his HK ID and travle document so he can enter China directly from US and doesn't need to apply for Chinese Visa and he could stay in China as long as he wants to. When he returning back to US, he's using US passport to enter US without any problem.
