We will be submitting the I-129F in a week. I presume I will need my Affidavit of Support in about 5 or 6 months. My question is this. I did not work last year. I took 2 trips to the Philippines plus one trip this last Feb. to be with my fiancee. I will submit tax returns from the years prior plus I am starting to work now so I will be have adequate annual income to show for this year. Not having a tax return for last year? will that be a big negative for me?

Yes. You need to either provide a tax return or a reason you did not file one. You will also need to do this for the AOS. I would submit the explanation plus the previous years return (2007) plus your docuentation of current employment and income.

The reason I will provide for not working is that I took a sabbatical plus went to the Philippines 3 times. Which is why I did not work. Do you think this is an adequate reason? I hope, because it is the truth

When the USEM shows you are in their system, they will let you book your interview. You can ask for earliest available date, or ask for a date you're hoping for. Worst the rep is going to say is that it's not available, right?

It took a couple of days for them to internally 'process' my fiance', or what you may call it, BEFORE they would allow me to set an appointment. I got through on ONE of the two days they worked during April Holy Week. Although they had received her packet from the NVC, they wouldn't allow me to book it yet. I think it was Tues of the following week that they allowed me to book her appointment.

i have been calling embassy 2 weeks still not approved to schedule appointment recieved email april 21 mnl case number april 27 recieved hard copy saying sent to mnl but here it is may 26 fiancee still not recieved letter from embassy and have not scheduled interview

i also worry if i schedule interview and she does not get letter from embasy how will she get into embassy

I sent the I129-F packet on December 30, 2008. Can I post in this forum or is it too close to January for me to be here? They received it on 1/2/09 and the check was cashed today, 1/8/09. What number should I look for on the back of the check in order to check online? Thank you.

my girlfriend told me they tell her proof of singlness form for me i told her no such thing but for her know problem i am not ure what to do

i mailed k1 packet dec 29 girlfriend wants to get passport she told them for fiance visa they tell her she needs proof of singleness please help what is proof of singleness for a u.s. citzen thanks mario
