  1. I last met my fiace was in August 2008. Just bring many pictures and many relationship evidences to the interview.

Was that when you first got together? or When you last saw her.

We were together, 7 months, when we had our interview.

Well.... let me explain. I met my American Fiance in the US in year 2006. And I came back to Thailand in April 2007. My fiance went to visit me in Thailand in year 2008, he was in Thailand 3 months. Then he went back to the US in August 2008. So from August 2008 to my interview date , I didn't see him for 10 months and my interview went fine.

For those of you wondering about phone record, I suggested that may be you can ask your fiancee to use Deedial.com. I used this service to call my fiance in the US.SO your fiancee can keep the record for you as well. It is cheap, I think it is only .89 satang per minute and she can add more money at 7/11 at least 100 baht. When she wants to get the phone record , then she just log in to the website and pull out the record and then copy and then paste to MS Words. But what I did I pulled out the record every week and saved it in the folder and made the file in order. Once the time was closed to the interview date , I just printed out.

  2. I am curious, what is the shortest relationship ( length of time knowing each other) that has been approved for a VISA? Any ideas?

CONGRATS to Everyone on getting their VISA'S

Don't worry I just had the interview yesturday and everything went fine. I last met my fiace was in August 2008. Just bring many pictures and many relationship evidences to the interview.

  3. :luv: Khun Nouch or khun Pim kha ? ;) I gues khun Nouch for sure !

Yes, it's me , Nuch. Are you around at USvisa 4 thai site? The lady that I had the interview with was really kind. Before the interview I was worry about my Fiance income last year because he just finished school and just starts to work in September 2008. But I have asked my fiance to send me most of his job offer documents along with I-134 and his 2008 tax return. I also submitted one recommendation letter from the pastor who I really restpect and one of our good friend 's letter telling about our relationship. While I was having the interview ,the lady didn't even mentioned about his income at all.

This lady is really nice and I didn't feel any nervous at all. I think everyone could get the visa if they did prepare their documents for the interview. Good luck and God Bless you to everyone.

  6. I have been trying to contact the U.S. embassy in bangkok via email. It has been 9 weeks since I received form I-797 and my fiancee still has not received the package 3. I have sent emails to visabkk@state.gov and visabkk2@state.gov and I get an answer from postmaster@state.gov saying message was not delivered.

Anyone know what's going on? Is there another email address? Has anyone else recently tried to contact this embassy by email?

you forget to put another " s" after visa

here is the right one: visasbkk@state.gov

    good luck

  7. My fiance just received an email notifying us that the NOA 2 (application approval notice) was returned by the postal service as undeliverable. My fiance called the USCIS customer service to give them the correct address. The customer service representative made a note and said that they would contact us back within the next 45 days. Obviously we don't want to wait 45 days. How can we get USCIS to resend the notice more quickly? As a side note, the acceptance letter from the National Visa Center just arrived (so obviously they had the correct address) and the application has moved to the embassy in Bangkok. Do we need the NOA 2 to complete the fiance visa process or can we proceed without it?

  8. Actually, my fiance just starts working in Semptember 2008. If he work for whole year, he will make above 125% poverty guideline. He just got his work recommendation letter yesturday from his employer which shows his yearly income above 125%.

How can paystub help for my fiance situation? Sorry, I really don't know what it mean.... How does it work?

    Thank you inadvance.

  9. Hi I am new here.

My fiancé and I are working on a fiancé visa and we just got the approved notice by e-mail from USCIS. My fiancé didn't meet the minimum poverty guideline for 2008 because he just finished his degree in May 2008. Does anyone know what

assets the government will accept as proof of financial support? In

addition, he has some money in savings. What amount of money would be

needed to makeup a $1500 shortfall in 2008 (he had $12,500 of the

required $14000(100%) for 2008)? Will it be 100% or 125% of proverty guideline?

    Thanks for your help!

I believe if you filed now you have to go by the 2009 guidelines, however I have not seen any posted. For 2008 it is 125% of the poverty line which was 17,500 in 2008 for a household of 2 in the Continental US (more for HI & AK). It goes up if there are dependents. If he is active service military then he can use the 100% guideline.

To use assets to make up the difference it is 3 times, based on 2008 Guidelines and the info you proviced, he would need 15000 in assets to make up the shorfall based on the current income.

    Good luck.

Thank you for your quick reply.

Can his assets be life insurance and then add it together with his money in bank account?

After he finished his degree he came to Thailand for 3 months and then went back to the US in August. He just starts working in September 2008. Right now he is collecting all his documents to send to me. His work recommendation letter shows his yearly income is above 125% porverty guideline.Do you think it will help for his situation? He is working as a full time employee at one of the university in SC .

Please advise and Thank you for advance

  11. I believe it is 3 times however short he is. I believe 125% of the newest poverty guidelines would be approximately $18,400 for two people.

He would need to have about $17,700 ($5,900 X 3) in the bank. However, that is just to meet the minimum. Often they would want to see his earnings somewhat over that amount. I recommend he have proof of meeting the minimal income requirement for 2009 (employer letter + pay slips).

Thank you for your suggestion.Well... I don't think he have that much in his bank account, will his life insurance help too because he doesn't have any asset? He is working at the university as a full time employee and he is staying at the University apartment. I think his minimal income will meet the requirement for 2009.

    Thank you again.

  12. Unless he is in the military, you'll need to be at 125% of the federal guideline for poverty. I'm not sure what assets could get you around this number. The best thing would be for him to have a job that shows he'll be good in 2009 or for him to find a cosponsor for the visa.

    Thank you.

but in Thailand, the us embassy doesn't accept a co-sponsor. We just got appoved from USCIS and still waiting for NOA 2 hard copy to send.

  14. Due to the holiday season, perhaps I am being a little over anxious.

However we sent our K1 application at the end of Nov and the check was cashed Dec 2nd. Yet we havent recieved our NOA1 yet.

To make matters worse, my fince used a bank account that does not allow you to see both sides of a cashed check online !!! Never been an issue before but obviously is now LOL

I have been looking at other peoples timelines to see if there has been a general delay in proceedings, but I dont spot any trends.

Any advice from you experienced campaigners ?

    Hi,

My name is Nuch. My Fiance is an American and I am Thai. Anyway, we are still waiting for Noa1 hard copy too. My fiance sent the K1 application on Nov 26,2008 and now we still don't receive the Noa 1 hard copy yet. The USCIS already cashed our check on Dec 1,2008. Otherwise, we are able to check our case online because we found the receipt number at our online bank account. If you send your personal check , you should be able to have the receipt number at your bank account and then find the 13 number which is included 3 english alphbet on front. Once we checked our case at USCIS.gov , there said they received and mail the notice on Dec1,2008. But I don't think sent it yet or it might lost somewhere.... Yesturday,My Fiance also called the USCIS to ask them to send us the hard copy , they said we have to wait for 30 days (counting from the day that receive the document) and then call them again. They said they can't do anything if it is not after 30 days. My fiance will call again on Jan 2,2009. If I have any update, I will let you know.
