  1. I got luck two days ago of talking to USCIS operator and after 2 days they got approved our case!..you know guys try to talk in a manner to USCIS staff probably they will approve your case. Will pray for you guys that all of you will got approve soon.

it still depend on status of your papers.. Even if you talk to the operator as soft as you can... its not them who approve the papers. they are just the one who will check the status online and they will give the information to those who will call them...

    but CONGRATS to you

I was told by the rep who took my call at the USCIS that they are only a call center. They aren't ACTUALLY the USCIS. Kind of like an answering service. That is why they sound so scripted. You can be nice or nasty... it doesn't matter. They only have access to one screen. If you are nice, you may get transferred to a customer service rep who can tell you more information but is still limited.

Best bet is to contact your congressman. That office can give you much more detailed information.

    congrats!!!!

  2. Age 16 and beyond.

    MORE: http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/iv/ds2001.html#pc

You dont just walk into the police station, you can order it on line, see the above link.

Moving this to NVC forum, this is handled at that stage for UK.

ok thanks, Any idea where i send it of to?

    Order it here: http://www.acpo.police.uk/certificates.asp

And it will be sent to NVC along with the other required docs when NVC requests them.

Ok thanks, How many copies will i need???

  3. No, I am using the LingChe shourtcut guide also. It really helps you understand the process. As soon as you have your NVC number, you can generate a barcode to put on a downloaded version of the DS-3032 and send it to them, plus there is a template to email them the DS-3032 also. I did both, the email one got accepted before the postal one even arrived. They'll discard whichever is unnecessary.

ok thanks paul. I will do that now

  4. i agree with misscharlotte. and also, dont wait for the forms to come before u start gathering whats necessary, like your police certs from all the countries you've been at for more than 6 months at a time... and unless u think that your timeline from NVC to interview to be more than 6 months, you can already apply for the police certs now. it will take time for you to get them, and when u do get them it does have at least 6 months of validity.

Yeah i know what your saying. I will start doing that now but did you guys wait for the nvc to send the DS-3032 and all the rest of the stuff they sent?

  5. I would send off for your police certificate now and gather everything else and send it special airsure mail to your partner in the USA. What I also did was download the forms needed and signed them so he could fill the rest in but he still has it signed by me

Well we was told to wait for the forms from them as there updated. I really don't know what to do now. I feel like i'm wasting time just sitting here

  6. It sounds like you are in exactly the same position as me. Have you applied for your police certificate and things? We got approved on the 16th of January and now we're getting everything together so that we can fly through NVC and I can get to New York to my husband.

No we haven't yet. I'm gonna do that asap But i got through to the nvc today and they said that it's in there system now but they said a wait 2-4 weeks for the rest of the forms.

2-4 week is what they say to everyone, but dont wait for 2 to 4 week for any paper. Keep calling them everyday to findout if your DS3032 and AOS bill genegrated.

Well i keep getting told different things. It really keeps confusing me

  8. Our I-130 petition got approved on the 10th january . We got a letter confirming this and it also said that our petition will now be sent to the nvc. I'm just abit confused on what to do next. Do i need to contact them or do i wait for them to send us something else. can someone help me please???

    Matthew123,

If you wait for NVC to send you on what to do next, it will take atleast 2 months before you complete your NVC process. So, I suggest you start reading LingChe shortcut here http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/...he_NVC_ShortCut this will give you all step by step process and what you should do.

    Good luck!

well i don't think anythink has been generated yet as i read in another post there is no point sending anythink till you know that it has been genarated Is that correct?

Yup that is correct, but keep calling NVC and talk to live rep instead of AVR. dont rely on AVR at all. I am guessing they should have your case number assigned and DS3032 and AOS bill generated by now. Its been while since your file was approved. Try speaking to live rep at NVC 603-334-0700

I've tried this number already and for some reason it won't let me connect to anythink. God i'm getting more stressed by the min lol

    Thanks for your help

  11. Hie,

We have revceived the approval letter from USCIS

and the Case number has been generated at NVC today..

the operator asked me to wait for next 2 to 4 weeks for furthure process...

which i doubt that it should take such long time..

do u guys have any updates????

We got approved on the 12th janaury and ive been trying to contact the nvc. I can't seem to get the number to work. can someone please help me

  12. Matthew123,

All you need to do is call NVC everyday and try to find out if your DS-3032 has been generated or not. If not then you will have to wait but keep trying 3 to 4 times a day because the AVR takes time to be updated (I would talk to the representative at NVC).

Once your DS-3032 has been generated just follow James Shortcut from WIKI to create your own DS-3032 before you even receive one from NVC.

You can Mail and Email your DS-3032 once you find out that it has been generated. There is no point in sending your DS-3032 to NVC if it has not been generated yet.

    Good Luck

Ok,Thanks for your help I will try calling asap

  13. Ok, Me and my wife filed The I-130 in october 2nd 2008 ( the date vsc recieved it) But we was not sure if we should have sent the I-129f. In the end we didn't and we thought we would wait for them to ask us. Time has passed now and i checked my status online and our case has been moved to calafonia service centre for processing.

Have i made a mistake in not sending it and have i slowed up the processing by not sending it. My wife is the american citizen and im from the united kingdom

    Any help would be nice

What you have done so far is good enough, I went the I-129 and was mad that I did. Your case moving to the CSC is a good thing they work fast. Good Luck.

Thats brillant news thanks. It's made me feel a little better. I was worrying about it all over xmas because the more research i did the more scared i was getting but thanks for clearing that up for me and thanks for the luck. Were gonna need it

  14. Hi everyone,

I'm new here, so please excuse me if I ask some questions that have already been addressed elsewhere! I've read the relevant guides and many of the forums, but still have a few questions.

For background, my husband and I were married in Nicaragua earlier this month. I'm from the States (based in New Orleans for now) and he's from Nicaragua. However, we're both living in Costa Rica and will be there through August of 2009, when I'll have to return to the States. He'll probably remain in Costa Rica (with monthly work visa and/or US visa paperwork-filing trips back to Nicaragua) until he can come to join me in the States.

    1) I was originally planning to go the K-3 route. However, after reviewing the guides and the forums, it seems to me that the CR-1 visa is the better way to go. The processing time for the I-130 is <2 weeks longer than the I-129, and I just saw a note where someone mentioned that the NVC processing could be completed in as few as 19 days. Is this typical? How long does the DS-230 & etc. NVC processing typically take? Is there any other reason - other than possibly shorter processing time - that would justify going the K-3 vs. the CR-1 route?

    2) It's even possible that we could go the K-1 route at this point. We had our marriage ceremony, but the paperwork is not turned in yet - and in Nicaragua you have up to a year to turn in the final paperwork. So if I thought there was a valid reason to go for the K-1 instead, we still could at this point. But given the similar I-129 vs. I-130 processing times, and the fact that we'd have to file for adjustment of status, which is both expensive and means a long time without him working, it doesn't seem like a good option. Am I missing something?

    3) I had read somewhere that the I-130 had to be submitted in person, but I just read in a guide here that it can be mailed to Chicago. Is this true? Can I mail the forms internationally (that is, from Costa Rica, e.g., by DHL or UPS)?

    4) What about the consular route - does anyone have experience filing from outside of the States? In our situation, we're living in a third country, which I assume complicates matters. Also, we will only be at our current address through mid-August - if the paperwork takes longer we'd be in trouble.

    5) Re: demonstrating a bonafide marriage - We're living together in a house in Costa Rica, but I don't have an official lease - the landlord just gives me a handwritten receipt each month. Would this be sufficient? Could I make something up and ask the landlord to sign it? Does anyone have experience with this? I also have bills from the biological station where we both work, and could have both of our names put on it - do you think this would help?

    6) Re: Affidavit of Support - I'm a graduate student, and for the last two school years I've received a fellowship stipend which is well over the 125% requirement, but isn't taxable, so I haven't reported it on my tax forms. I have bi-weekly pay stubs, and could also get a letter - and maybe even an Accounts Receivable statement - from my university attesting to my income. Would this be sufficient?

Thanks for any help you can offer! Happy holidays, everyone!

    Cheers,

    Nicole

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm from the united kingdom and my wife is an american citizen and we got married september 19th 2008. We sent out the form I-130 but we was unsure if we needed to send out the I-129f as we was already married. After only joining this today I've found out that if you only file the I-130 your automatically aplying for the CR1.I didn't even know that this visa exsited or infact if it's even a visa. I don't understand any of the requirements for it. The only thing we have done so far is send the I-130. I need to discuss with me wife if we should send out the 1-29F to go down the k3 route.
