  1. Hi Everyone

Our first grandbaby was born yesterday :luv: We are soooooo happy. Welcome to the world Gabby (L)

    peace

    ~kris

Congrats to everyone who got their visas and those who have heard good news. Kris very much congrats on your new grandchild!

As far as Samir goes, we are still here and I wont leave until late June now. He is not on AP-I called to ask several times to the embassy and the DOS and they said no he is not on AP. So, I guess any day now or whenever they decide to stop making us wait.

Oh, I finally heard from Fairha and Zain. Zain got his visa already and it only took a few days. Is this because he was in the Navy? I am wondering why he got his visa so much faster than others. Anyway, she wanted me to inform you all since she has no internet access currently. She phoned me other night.

    Ok, take care!

    :-)

  2. Here is my two cents... I believe if you are a US citizen, they cannot deny you entry to the US Embassy in Islamabad. They can , however, tell you to go sit down and not be present during the interview. That was my experience anyway.

They let me be present at the interview and it went smoothly.

Congrats to you Kris and Waheed.

Great news Sibtain things seem to be looking up for you!

Please pray for us everyone as we are still waiting. They told us we were approved at DOS! Please pray he can come home with me when I leave in June.

Good luck to all of us waiting and those of us about to have interviews!

  3. For those who remeber me my husband and i got approved on April 13th, 2009 and today he got his passport. the interview was a breeze we were only asked general questions and one important one which was how a girl from brooklyn ended up with a guy from DR? other than that it was the generic questions such as when how we met and if we were married before or had kids.

my husband got his passport today and the only strange thing is that on the visa stamp it says IR1 and we tought we were going to get CR1 instead because we still haven't reach our 2 year anniversary. is it common that even though you are CR1 on the stamp says IR1?

Hi! I remember you as you used to be a fellow Dust Collector! Congratulations!

    ¡Felicidades!

  4. My wife's interview is in a couple of hours .. I just wish the next 6-7 hours would just skip by and I'd know the end result! Please pray for us

Good luck at the interview and good luck to everyone waiting on their visas (including us). This waiting game is not very fun and it is very depressing. Even though most of you have edured long AP-I had endured a long separation of a year and a half (until now) from my spouse. So, I can understand how hurtful this feels to everyone. I hope that everyone will be reunited with their loved ones very soon! May God help us all!

  5. Hi we are in Islamabad now! We are nervous about the interview! It is tomorrow as you know! Please pray for us!

You must be done by now. How did the interview go?

~Hello! So, sorry for the late response we have been so busy! The interview went smoothly and everything is fine according to the officer! Just waiting on the visa as per his request. They told him he has to pick up his passport with the visa on it when he is called from Amex. Is this meaning no AP or short AP? Need tips here! We will post the review soon, we are somewhat busy this week with family!~

    ~Dream Love~

    congrats!

i suggest you both don't make any plans until you have his passport w/visa in hand!

    mabrook once again

Hi Mahitab. I think he still has AP because he did not hear an exact approved did he? Karim had his interview several weeks back and they did not keep his passport but issued two sheets of paper. One white and one green. What is the deal with colors and keeping and not keeping of pasports. Anyone got any idea? What is the longest time for AP and does color of forms matter? Karim was told he is undergoing documentation administrative processing. How time consuming is this process? Please reply soon.

    Maysa

    Maysa,

I have no idea I am just going to leave on my scheduled date as planned and if he does not have his visa in hand he will stay here. I am not going to get excited or start planning anything because I do not trust Islamabad. Overall the interview was not very intensive and they never asked for evidence of relationship. They only wanted to see the pics. The guy was white with a short beard and he smiled the entire time. When I post my review you will know more. I guess I will have Samir do that from his id because it was more of his experience than my own.

    Mary,

Do you think he still has to undergo AP? What does it sound like to you?

Ok, please let me know thank you.

    ~Dream Love~

Kris...good luck to you and hope he gets his visa soon!

  9. Well the day is finally here for my fiancées interview. I am so nervous and feel terrible I am not able to be there with him. I love him so much and really hope everything goes well.

    Wish you good luck

Good luck-hope you all have success! Ours is also in a few hours! So scared! I know how you are feeling. We are both here jittery! Wish us luck and keep us informed!~

  10. submit a mountain of evidence at VFS and you'll be fine.

Ohh we have a ton of stuff. Pictures, phone logs, IM conversations, text messages, my trip information for when I went there 2 times and where we went together, and wedding plan information.

I hope this will be enough.

Be sure to update me on your interview experience and I will do the same! Very scared/nervous! How are you feeling?

  11. As if this process hasnt taken long enough already...it is 1:45am in Philadelphia, 10:45am in Islamabad. I would have thought i would have heard from my fiancee by now as to how her interview went. hope to hear from her soon with good news as I have waited a long time for this...

Just got off the phone with my girl...SUCCESS!!! she said the interview was 2 minutes long, just asked where we met and a few other questions. Then told her that she can pick up her visa in 7 days at the American Express courier in Karachi. I will get more details from her in the morning (it as 2am and im tired) and post a review for everyone. Please note for those that have interviews coming up, she went to the Convention Center to catch the shuttle and there was no shuttle. Someone at the convention center said she had to go someone else because they moved the site from the convention center. again, when i find out more details as to where she went to catch the shuttle i will post.

Congratulations! May the rest of us have similar success!

  12. tracking the package will be the best deal u can get. I know u dont have tracking number but if u know what date was package sent go to dhl.com and see whats send to ISB on the date u have. if u want more information on how to do that search for a thread called tracking dhl package. Still cant do? let me know the date sent and i will find out for u. Wish u luck.

Thanks.. Yes i was able to track using the DHL. NVC sent it on 2009-03-11 and Consulate Received it on 2009-03-17 (according to my tracking), but the wife hasn't received it yet so was just wondering how long it usually takes. I have tried calling but no luck getting through and have also sent an email and no response yet.

My dh is in Karachi too. It took about 2 weeks-I think! You can always email them and ask when they sent it (pakivquery@state.gov)! They always reply to me within a day-Alhamdulillah!

  13. Hi Everyone

Called DOS today.. my bi-weelkly ritual. When I call them, the only response I have ever gotten from them is that our case is pending administative processing. They will never tell me anything else. Today I asked her... We have been through two home visits, three requests for more information, and 8 months of waiting since his interview ... So just what are we waiting on now? She told me that we are waiting on the name check to clear. For the first time in calling DOS, I truly feel I got an honest response from someone. ;)

    peace

Got great news! We got our interview date! April 6th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, that was fast. I called DOS and they said my wife's interview is on Apr 13, and we had submitted our documents in Feb. I'm glad yours was faster!

Darn! I'd like to trade, I wanted April 13th it would have worked out better for us!

  15. You are right Fire w wind. It is like a dream and I cannot even imagine the reality of it. I read lots of things on this site and everyone says that suddenly one day, it is over. Or they say when he gets home it will be like we were never separated. I believe what they are telling me, but, I cannot even imagine it in my mind. After all this time everything has become surreal to the both of us. Waheed and I are very good at being a Cyber Wifey and Hubby but one day it will all change. Some days I am sad, Some days I am mad, and other days I am numb. I just pray that this hell is over for all of us soon and we can be with our loved ones like browneyedgirl. She has waited a long time for this day and I am simply over-joyed for her and her guy. :luv: She has been a wonderful friend to everyone here and always willing to give support to everyone. Lots of Love sent out to browneyed girl and soon to be husband.

Hang in there Fire w wind... our happy time is coming soon.

    peace

  18. Dream Love I am relocating. What is the process if sending $ through wire transfer. Which bank is better in this service and how much do they charge? I heard western union is ridiculously expensive.

    Thanks.

Sibtain: Thanks for your kind reply, but I must wear hijab my husband is very strict in Islam and he wont let me go withouit hijab. Therefore, I will have to wear it of he will be extremely upset with me. I understand your point of view that it may cause some form of criticism for me, but I think I am strong enough to handle it. I deal with it here on a daily basis. Thanks for all your support throughout this process. Samir is very grateful that you are so kind and helpful! May Allah bless you and reward you. Jazakallahu khair.

Revived: Alhamdulillah I am Muslimah and Hijabi in my small town and criticized often but Alhamdulillah I am still covering daily. I wont remove it for the interview, but perhaps will wear it the Pakistani way! Like a duppatta or shawl. I will most likely dress in a nice Pakistani outfit because I want to feel comfortable and that is what I feel most comfortable in. Above all, I will wear hijab simply.....because I do not want them to mistake me for something I am not. You, know? I am not Christian and I do not want them to assume we are in a relationship with blended religions. I am Muslim like my husband. Jazakallahu'khair for your input on this situation. I think we are able to both understand why it is important to not try to be something you are not. I would feel half-dressed without my hijab.

Kute: Where are you living right now? If you can msg me privately then I can give you the help you need. Just send me a pm. OK? I do the bank transfers and it works thoroughly!~
