  1. Hello, well my AP has arrived and I have booked a trip to the Bahamas for this Sunday... I will be home on Thursday and also need to go back to Canada that Friday. They sent two sheets for the AP... does this mean you can only use it 2 times and thats it until your GC comes.... or can you use them as many times as you want??

Please help... because I may need to go home again in a few weeks and I will have used my 2 docs.

  3. You'll get 2 pieces of paper that look like the NOA2 and other notices for the AP travel document. When you use it, they process it in secondary so factor that extra time in when you travel and go through customs (it's actually kind of a pain, I'd wait for the greencard if you can).

I got my AP in the mail about 5-7 days after they emailed me.

I would love to wait for my green card... but we have actually been offered this trip that leaves in like a week for free from my FIL, and after this date we are really busy and won't have time to travel before I start work. So it's looking like I will have to use it... but I just need it to come like nowww :(

  4. Just checked the USCIS website to see if there were any updates on my applications and soooo happy to see that my I-765 and I-131 have been approved.

This is what it says for I-765:

On May 12, 2010, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283. (how long does it really take)

    And for I-131:

On May 12, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I131 APPLICATION FOR USCIS TRAVEL document. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

For the I-131, when it says mailed you notice, will I be getting the physical document that I can use to travel, or does that come after the notice? I reallly need to know, because I might book our honeymoon to the Bahamas sooon. Please let me know if what I am getting is the actual travel document or not?? and how long does it normally take to come.

Yeahh sooo excited to go on vacation... also about the work card (I guess I need to find a job now)

  6. Hopefully, you'll be a lucky one and get the EAD/AP approved in 50-60 days from your file date and your AOS approved in a month from your transfer. From what I've seen from VJ examples, there has been a slowdown of approvals since mid-March, but hopefully, it will pick up soon.

    I hope sooo toooo :)

  7. interesting... it seems as though people that have been transferred are receving there AP and EAD within 2 months is this accurate?? or is this the case with most people in the recent months... this wait is horrific, not only do I want to work, but would like to book a cruise with my hubby... but if it is 2 months then I have 1 to go... but I will not hold my breath haha

  8. I've not seen evidence of this. Seems to be fairly equal actually (about as equal as it can be since everyone's case is different).

It is true that being transferred doesn't mean instant approval however - most folks do continue to wait after being transferred - they're just waiting on the approval and not an interview.

why does this happen to some people??? anyone know?

  9. Not necessarily - they aren't really linked. But the EAD and AP shouldn't take longer than 90 days.

When you get transferred you generally wait a couple extra months then people who get an interview...

What do you mean wait an extra few months.. wait for what those other 2 documents???

  10. If they won't give him an employment letter with his salary, ask for a letter stating the nature of his position and the hours he works. My husbands employment letter didn't mention his income at all, but it never caused us an issue. It did however state he was a full time employee and had been for several years. We also included all the pay stubs we had saved since our K-1 interview and tax returns from the last 3 years. It actually never dawned on me that the employment letter should state his salary, so maybe we got lucky. I'd get what you can get from his employer and include that plus as many recent pay stubs as you can find.

As for the medical, I've seen about 4 different medical related RFE's on VJ here in the last couple months. Could you maybe be more specific about the wording? In some rare circumstances they lose your medical, in which case the RFE says they have no record of a completed medical exam. If you were to show us exactly what it says, we could probably be more helpful.

it says... you have indicated that you last entered the US as K non-immigrant, please submit a properly completed and signed copy of the medical exam conducted overseas on from 2053... med exam for immigrant or refugee applicant, for the applicant on from I485.

If you do not have a completed for 2053, please submit a properly completed and signed from I693, report of medical exam and vacc record. the med exam must be conducted by civil surgeon....

have you heard of this one??? does this from have 2053 written on it.. i handed in the one that the doc filled out with all the dates of my shots. was this not correct??

  11. Just out of curiousity, did you include the vaccination sheet with your paperwork initially? I'm confused as to why they wouldn't have your medical from the K-1 already... By proof of medical, do you mean they're asking for the I-693?

As for the support, did you include anything initially? Tax returns, and what not?

Sorry for asking questions that won't really help you. I'm just worried as I've recently submitted AOS as well.

I did send the vaccination record with mine... guess it didn't do any good... said i needed a medical. So they must have no receipt that anything was ever done.

Also, I gave W2's from past 3 years... guess that wasn't good enough either :(

  12. So unfortunately yesterday I received 2 rfe's.... one saying that I didnt have enough evidence from the petitioner/sponsor for 1-864 and also, I need proof of medical. Should I just take my vaccination records to a civil surgeon nearby and get them to fill out I-693, since I had my medical done within the past year? Then for the other one it asked for employment letter, but my sponsor said her secretary isn't aloud to put salary on the letters anymore. So would it be sufficient to send past 6 months of pay stubs? Will this delay I-765 and I-131 as well, or just I-485? I am going to try and get everything sorted out this week.

  13. Hello Canadians... I really need your help and assistance with this matter...

I moved to the US on Dec 28th, using my K-1 visa, we just sent in our AOS package the other day. Now comes the problem, I am experiencing severe pain in my knee. I had surgery on it 5 years back, but am having problems now. I was told to go see a doctor but without insurance I am scared at how much it will cost me :( I was looking into getting health insurance, is it true Canadians have to wait 6 months before we can get health insurance? Does anyone know what I should do? Anyone know how much it would cost to go see a knee doctor? Has anyone gone back to Canada after they entered the US to see a doctor?

Please help... I am in pain and don't know what to do :(

  14. so I keep hearing seeing the words "3025 medical worksheet" does it actually say this on the form we got back from the civil surgeon. Is this the one where he wrote all the dates and what not on. Is this the form we supply we the AOS package instead of the I-693? Or is there another form that I am totally missing??

  15. Hello I was wondering if anyone out there could supply me with the I-131 supplement, part 7... I cannot open it on my computer, and was just wondering what had to be written on it????

For the copy of the marriage certificate... can you just copy the marriage certificate or do you need to send in the certified copy of the marriage certificate???

    thankss...

  16. Just about to file the AOS/I-131/I765... have a few questions?

With the I864... if we have a co-sponsor does my husband have to fill out the I864 as well, (like the I134) or does just the cosponsor fill out this form?

For the medical, so I have had mine within the past year, so i know i do not need one, do I definitely need to go see a civil surgeon to get the form filled out, or can i just send in my vaccination records fromt he medical??? id like to save money haha

who do you make the 1010 out too?

I think that is it for now... please help.. thanksss :)

  17. its been more than a month now & still no sign of my visa....so frustrated

Sorry to hear that. Hope you receive it very soon!

oh let me know how it goes... have you contacted DOS or called the Consulate?

Thanks, I hope so too, my hubby got in touch with the congressperson but no updates yet.

Yes my hubby called DOS and they were not helpful all they said was they didnt receive any update so far from the consulate, and there is no operator

service when you call the consulate only recorded. Going crazy dunno what to do.

I got my passport today in the mail... two days after they finally responded to my email. I wrote in the heading... urgent ugent case number urgent... and the responded to me a few hours later. So try and put urgent like 5 times in your email and maybe they will get the point. I am so relieved :)

  18. definitely not worth it... and my interviewer said oh yes it will take a few weeks to get your passport back and that is why i went through with taking it back. but now its still not here... it is 2 weeks today soo I will still hold hope to have it by the 27th...
