Hi. I wonder if anyone can provide some advice on my visa situation - specifically on AOS.

I'm a UK citizen who has been in the US for 2.5 years on a company sponsored L-1 visa and am due to marry my American fiance in January. Within a few weeks of the wedding we're both moving to Australia for work and in the long scheme of things will return to the US in around 5 years.

1. Do we need to apply for any permits or file any AOS prior to the wedding or are we ok to marry on the L-1?

2. Do we have to file an AOS, immediately the after the wedding, bearing in mind we'll be leaving the US within weeks?

3. From my reading around the subject it looks like I can carry on working on the L-1 visa until we move to Australia without filing an AOS - is this the case?

I guess what I'm ultimately hoping for is that we can pursue the AOS through the US embassy in Australia without having to file any paperwork in the hectic few weeks post-wedding --- is this the case?

Any help would be appreciated!
