  1. Hello,

I have been reading through this post and there is alot of great information. The idea of having this type of Forum is greatly appreciated and is helping people like us all over the world.

My question is actually for my friend. His parents have an Interview In Nairobi in a few months. What type of questions can they expect. My friend is a US Citizen and has been living here for 10 years without seeing his parents since moving here.

Thank You for your help :)

  2. Hi Everyone! My wife has her Green Card Interview in Newark, NJ in August. She came here on a Fiancee Visa in January. I am surprised how fast the Interview came. As always we are coming to this great website to make sure we have everything ready for the interview.

We have gone through the questions regarding our marriage in USA and life in USA.

We have a bank statement showing we have a joint account

I have a statement from my company showing her as my beneficiary in my 401k

I have a statement from my company showing her as apart of my health plan

We live with my parents so we dont know own a property

We have many photographs from our travels to Florida and NYC.

We have a professional album from our Reception

We have photographs from our court marriage in USA

    We have our Marriage Certificate

We have a copy of the AOS Application we submitted in March, along with the Affidavit of Support

We have her Birth Certificate and my Birth Certificate

I have a copy of my Naturalization of US Citizenship

We have her social security card

She is not working and is not going to school. But she does have her Employment Authorization Card.

We have her passport for ID and my Driver's License (but will also carry my US Passport)

Is there anything we are missing or should do further to prepare for the interview? We are not very stressed (yet) because so far everything has been very simple and normal. The K1 process went smoothly and we got married in 1 month of her arrival in USA in court. Also we have many photographs (we took 5-6 from each place we went to visit. Total of 40 + marriage and reception photos)

  3. Hello Everyone,

I wanted to know if anyone was able to get a Driver's License in NJ before getting their Green Card? My wife came to US on a Fiancee Visa and after we got Married we applied for the AOS. She received her Social Security Card and Employment Authorization Card but the DMV of NJ is saying she needs her Green Card before she can apply for a Driver's License?

Does anyone have any information or tips on this?

    Thank You as Always :)

  4. My Wife came to USA in January on a Fiancee Visa. We got married and applied for AOS Greencard, Employment Authorization, and Advance Parole Travel in March. We are planning on taking a couple of trips this summer inside the USA. Does she need any other document other than her Foreign Passport to be eligible for travel within the US? Her Fiancee Visa expired in April.

At the airport along with her airport would I need to carry the AOS Letter stating that we applied or any other documents like our marriage certificate?

    Thank You

  5. Hello Everyone,

My wife arrived in the US as a K-1 Fiancee. We then got married and now are getting ready to apply for the AOS. We share the same last name so we dont need to change that, but what middle name do I put on the AOS Applications? Am I able to put my name as her middle name or should we keep it as is on her password and other documents? Her current middle name is her father's name.

    Thank You

Correction above, password means Passport :)

whatever she deems as her current "legal" name and wishes to be known as...

But would it be okay to put a new middle name(my first name) even though her passport and other documents has her father's middle name?

    :)

  7. Hi, My Fiancee passed the interview and received her visa from Mumbai, India :)

She will be arriving in USA in a week. I have been reading that she will need to fill out the Customs Form and also the White I-94 Arrival/Departure Form on the airplane. When she arrives at the USA Airport, does she need to tell the officer anything in particular?

I also saw that we need the I-94 Form for the Social Security and Adjustment of Status process so she will need to make sure the officer gives back the I-94 Form at the airport.

    Is this correct?

Also does anyone know what questions or forms she may have to answer/fill out once she arrives at the USA Airport?

    Thank you.

  8. Hello, I am new here. I have applied for K1 Visa for my Fiance who lives in India. Her interview is in January at the Mumbai US Consolate. I have read in a few forums that the Consolate asks to see Original Documents, is that also including original documents I sent with the I-129F Package to USCIS? I have not received that package back from them and I was under the influence that NVC sends the original package to the consolate.

    Thank You in Advance.

    (will update my timeline shortly)
