Je m'en mords les doigts de ne pas avoir fourni de réponses concises au mec, qui en plus était xénophobe comme pas croyable ("pourquoi ils prennent des stagiaires étrangers sur les campagnes?").

Ca ne m'etonne pas plus que ca, cette question. Je ne pense pas que ce soit particulierement xenophobe: quand je ne pouvais pas encore travailler (faut d'EAD et en attente de green card) j'ai postule pour un job de benevole chez les Coast Guards. On m'a repndu qu'il fallait etre citoyenne americaine ou residente pour travailler pour eux. Sur le coup, j'ai ete choquee (c'mon, free worker!), mais finalement, ca tombe un peu sous le sens...

Anne-Sophie (c'est etrange le nombre de Sophies sur ce forum. Y a-t-il un lien de cause a effet ?) respire un grand coup, la procedure est longue et pas si compliquee que tu ne le penses la, maintenant, tout de suite... Tout va bien se passer !

Je suis nouvelle ici. Je m'apprête à envoyer tout le dossier NOA1 à mon copain demain. C'est incroyable ce que ça me stresse tout cette affaire. J'ai 14 pages d'email, 5 captures d'écran de Skype, des photos prises en vrai, 7 pages de logs de Skype pour montrer qu'on se parle tout le temps, et deux captures d'écran qui montrent qu'on a des centaines de threads sur gmail, et je me demande tout le temps si ça suffit. Vous en pensez quoi?

Oui, Anne, ca suffit amplement ! Ne stresse pas trop au sujet des preuves, il faut surtout que ton dossier soit bien rempli !

Je me demande pourquoi quand même les USA restent l'Eldorado pour le reste du monde.

Moi qui ai voyagé un petit peu je me demande vraiment....

Je rajoute mon grain de sel : je suis francaise et j'ai toujours reve de l'Amerique. J'adore la France et je suis toujours heureuse de pouvoir y retourner, mais les Etats-Unis ont beaucoup a offrir ! Dans mon domaine, je gagnerais 2 voire 3 fois moins d'argent en France, pour un peu plus de vacances et moins de consideration de mon boulot. Et il y a tellement d'endroits magnifique dans ce grand pays !

Je suis sure que les films et les series TV sont propagateurs du reve americain. On est bien en Europe aussi, mais c'est moins connu !

Rien à voir avec les séries américaines, mais j'ai une question concernant l'adjustment of status. Je suis en train de remplir tous les formulaires (c'est reparti avec la paperasse...), et je me demandais quel nom de famille je dois utiliser: mon nom de jeune fille ou mon nouveau nom de femme mariée?

Comme nous venons de nous marier, je n'ai aucune document officiel avec mon nouveau nom (certificat de naissance, passeport, carte de sécurité sociale, notre mariage n'est pas encore enregistré en France...), donc je ne peux pas prouver "mon nouveau nom"... Et sur le certificat de mariage, il n'est pas marqué que je prends le nom de mon mari.

J'etais allee a la Social Security Office avant d'envoyer mon dossier d'AOS pour rajouter le nom de mon mari au mien avec un tiret entre les deux pour avoir mon nouveau nom sur ma carte verte. Ca ne prend que le temps d'un rendez-vous, et c'est gratuit !

Si tu prefere avoir ton nouveau nom sur ta carte verte, il faut que tu te presente a ce bureau avec ton certificat de mariage et que tu leur dises exactement comment tu veux changer ton nom. C'est tout bete !

J'ai une question au sujet de l'Advanced Parole...

Nous avons envoyé le I-129F donc je pense - si tout se passe bien - qu'autour du mois de janvier, nous aurons notre interview et visa (envcore si tout se passe normalement...mais je préfére regarder le côté positif de la chose!).

Seuleument voilà, ma cousine se marie le 9 juillet 2011 en France et je suis son témoin. Je devrais donc absolument avoir l'AP avant le mois de juillet pour pouvoir voyager. Pensez-vous que cela soit jouable? Combien de temps avez vous attendu avant de recevoir l'AP?

J'ai lu sur le forum que cela pouvait prendre au minimun 5 mois voire bien plus... je voulais avoir votre retour d'expériences là-dessus

J'ai l'impression que le parcours qui t'attends ressemble bcp a mon parcours de l'annee derniere. Pour moi, tout s'est passe normalement (Attente, RFE, entretien, et tout et tout) et j'ai recu mon AP en Mai, si mes souvenirs sont bons (tu peux voir ma timeline). Je pense que tu n'as pas a t'inquieter, tu es tout a fait dans les temps !

Moi j'utilise de la pancetta (diced). ca remplace bien les lardons dans les pates carbonara ou la quiche lorraine !

Je reviens de Trader Joe, et j'ai une question quant aux pates (pour quiches ou pizza)

apparemment ils ont de la pate à pizza ou pate à tartes, c'est laquelle qui est la plus proche pour faire des quiches maison?

Pour ceux qui font la différence. J'ai pris de la pizza, mais je savais pas si l'autre (pour tartes) serait sucrée ou pas.

La pate a pizza est excellente... pour les pizzas !

Et la pate a tarte (au rayon surgele) n'est ni sucree, ni salee : on peut faire des quiches ou des tartes aux fruits avec, elle marche pour les deux (j'ai teste).

Parlons peu mais parlons bien... Il est vraiment bon ce saucisson de TJ?! Je l'ai vu pour la premiere fois hier a TJ, mais il n'y avait pas de prix, donc comme je ne voulais pas de retrouver avec un saucisson a 15 dollars qui risquait de ne pas etre bon je ne l'ai pas pris. Zut!

Promis, il est bon.

Et on m'a dit qu'il est encore meilleur si t'as un moyen de le faire secher un peu... Mais je n'ai pas essaye.

La prochaine fois que je suis chez TJ, je prends la photo et je note le prix pour les amateurs/trices !

J'adore les Trail Mix de TJ... Je crois que si ce magasin n'existait pas a Philadelphie, je serais bien triste.

Le saucisson, je l'ai trouve a cote des fromages. Il n'est pas dans un emballage papier comme les salamis et autres saucisses italiennes, il est dans un emballage plastique transparent. Il est tres bon et il satisfait parfaitement mes "cravings" de produits francais. Avec un p'####### verre de vin rouge, c'est comme si j'etais en France !

Sorry to pop in just like that but I would like to have your points of view / experience...My boyfriend is American and we've been together for more than 2 years now- we are talking about getting married and going through the K1 visa process. I'm not quite ready in my head to go through that journey yet as I have to deal with my parent's feelings about the whole "me moving to the US". But I'm still enjoying reading VJ posts as we share the same feelings, have the same issues..etc...

I would like to know how many times you visited your SO prior to be married? How many often were you going to the US?

I'm asking that as I'm going to visit my SO at the end of July and I'm starting to be worried that the US immigration officer will think I visit too much the US..Let me explain :

- August 08 : I came back to France as my J1 visa expired. I stayed for 2 years and a half in the US (1 year as an aupair & 1,5 years as a trainee for a PR company in NY)

- December 08 : I came back to the US for a week to spend New Year's eve with my boyfriend- I wasn't expecting the US immigration officer to be rude BUT he asked so many questions for 10 minutes that I really thought he will never put the stamp in my passport, but he did at the end.

- April 09 : I went to the US for 1 week for my boyfriend's birthday- I didn't have that much problem- the officer asked the regular questions (do you have job in France? Why are you here for ? - I told him tourism this time as in December I said I was coming to visit friends & the guy went kinda nuts after that...)

- August 09 : I'm going to the US for 2 weeks.. I have my round-trip ticket.

I have a job in France and I'm expected to be back at work on Aug 18th - I'm arriving in France on the 17th- I'm bringing my working contract, my round-trip tickets, a certification letter from my boss to say that they're expecting me back at work on the 18th, my bank statement to show them I have money for these 2 weeks.

I was wondering if that the US officer may think that I'm coming too often to the US and so far they have never asked me if I had a boyfriend there. If they do ask me, I don't know what I'll say- I think I'll say yes to be honest but that's a risk...

This is not too often at all! Don't worry for a second...

I dated my boyfriend for 4 years before we decided to get married, and I came to the US as a "tourist" many many times. I can't even count them anymore. I never had any problem about it.

I never told Immigration that I was visiting my boyfriend -even though they asked. I said "I'm visiting some friends". And I don't see why they should know anything else anyway.

The one time I had a tiny problem is when I came for 3 months. I stayed 89 days, just under the legal amount of days allowed as a tourist, and they checked and asked me several times if I had a job to go back to. They advised me not come back to the US right away after this particular stay.

I think they said that to scare me (it worked) and my next trip after that (about 5 months later) was easy as pie.

So, I sent the documents they wanted on June 11th, and I just now received a CRIS email saying that they received my papers and they are ready to resume the case processing. It's a relief.

To those who had RFE's, how long did your case resumed after you submitted the RFE back to USCIS? Just wanna have an idea.

I had an RFE for the medical. The RFE was sent to me on May 26th and I sent back the info they needed on June 11th. I'm a little worried because the deadline (June 26th) is approaching fast, and I still haven't received any letter/email from them saying they received it.

I know it's been delivered, but that's it.

It's really annoying to have to stress out about all this still.

i remember asking here a while ago about the visa fee and i got a response that it was 107 euros, but i keep seeing that it s 325 dollars

so i am a lil confused, can someone explain this to me,im trying to figure out how much i will need total for my trip to paris and ambassade.

also i read that i can do my blood tests and xrays on my own and bring it to my visit medical? is that true? if so what are the requirements ?

Re: fee -- You should have all this information on the Packet 3. If you don't have it yet, well, wait for it: better to get exactly what you need than approximately.

I paid 107 euros for the K1 visa. If you're coming with a different visa, it might be a different amount. But for the French embassy, the amount should be in euros. Euros only. So I'm not sure what your $ amount represents. Maybe the next leg of the journey?

Re: medical -- And don't do the tests and X-rays in advance: for the Paris embassy, you can't do them in advance, they'll just have you do them again. That's what the doctor told me. There's no way to cut the cost of that one, unfortunately. Actually, the only thing is to have your vaccines updated, so you don't have to go twice to the doctor's.
