  1. Yes, partly because of news like this. HOWEVER, if it is considered necessary at this point in the AOS process of course I will do it. My lawyer said not to worry, as the USCIS probably won't pick up on it my not having had it...I'm just wondering if anyone else is in a similar position? (Particularly whether or not it is required because I had my full medical before August 1st 2008).

    Thanks!

  2. I have my AOS appointment in January. I have already completed the medical exam in London in April 2008, and handed in the forms when applying for my K1 visa. However, I did not have the HPV vaccine. My question is, do I really need to get it before my AOS interview? I heard that there is an exception for medicals taken before August 1st 2008. Any advice would be great-- I'd rather not have this vaccine, but will do it if it's likely to be picked up during my AOS interview. Thanks!

  4. I applied for an SSN number over two months ago, straight after receiving my EAD. However, the SSN office said that I needed to wait until they received verification from immigration. Obviously I cannot work until I get the number...the SSN are not helpful at all, and just tell me to wait. Is anyone else having this problem, and does anyone know if it's worth trying to contact immigration directly?

    Thanks!

  5. Hello,

I have my AOS interview in Chicago on January 22nd 2009. I received my medical exam in London on April 5th when applying for the K-1 visa. However, I am female under 26 and did not have the HPV vaccine-- the only one on my list not to have been completed.

I read that if medicals are conducted before 1st August 2008 the HPV vaccine is not required. Does anyone know for sure if this is correct? Is it likely that the officers will check my medical history again if I've already been approved for the interview?

I just want to check whether or not the HPV is absolutely necessary for me to have? Any advice would be great!
