  1. Well I just plain forgot to post up about our petition being approved. Vermont recieved our petition on October 1, 2008. We got approved on March 2 and I called the NVC and it only took them 4 days to forward the petition to the embassy in Hong Kong. Lorena recieved her packet from the embassy on March 20. I'm getting so very excited that she will soon be here with me...;-)

  2. More and more lately I am reading posts stating how stupid the USCIS is or how stupid the US government is. :ranting: Is this really all necessary? Ok, I will be the first to admit, I hate going to the social security office, the DMV, dealing with the USCIS or any government agency for that matter. BUT, compared to the rampent corruption of some country's governments, is it really that bad here? Can you deal with a few mistakes or the bad attitude of the lady at the SS office? We live in a free country where, yes, you can speak your mind and say what you feel. But again, I ask , given the freedoms that we all have and everyone who has immigrated here now have....is it really necessary? If you make a mistake on your visa petition or get an RFE, if it's your fault, its YOUR fault. Be an adult and correct it. Of the millions of petitions and applications they deal with each year (and growing), are they really that bad? Embrace America and all it's freedoms and most of all , TAKE IT EASY! :dancing: Just my thoughts. What do the VJ members think??

Well I would say our government here in the US is just as corrupt as any other government in the world. They cater to big business and pretty much screw the people. Just look at all the bail out money they are giving to the big companies...and it's us the tax payers paying for that and we will probably just get a raise in taxes.

  3. let's include something about the philippines to keep this in this forum.

I DISCOVERED A REAL TROPHY IN THE PHILIPPINES!!!

that's a given. but is there any hunting in pi? wild boar? deer?

    American husbands

   !!!!!

    Super PWNED!!!

I guess it's no different than hunting American Husbands in Iceland and Mexico.

  4. This is a question to both USC and Filipinas - Do you think the girls who hang out at internet cafes specifically looking to meet Joe's online are basically the new bar girl?

Why so down on Filipinas when the US is full of bar sluts.

  5. I am here to tell you I have first hand experience with a filipina in HK!

We had a wonderful fairy tail romance!! We went all over HK: Stanley market, Monkok, Lanchou and saw the giant Buddha, took the tram up the peak, road ferries, sub ways, dancing at night in Wanchai!. We even went to Macau! I visited her 3 times.

    Engaged for 2 years!!

    BUT

When time got close, she changed her mind! When we first met, she was new to HK. Then over time, she grew to like HK. Made friends and got comfortable.

Even thou she says she still loves me, she decided to stay in HK. In order to do that becouse her work contract was about to expire she managed to get preggy by Austrialian HK resident.

In talking to a mutual friend in HK about this, I was told, City girls don't work out. Is best to find a girl from the provence.

    Seems, HK changes you!

Be careful with a filipina in HK!

    Good luck

So you saying one bad apple spoils the whole bucket?sheeshh!!!you were engaged for 2 years, have i read you right?I also am one of the HK girls your reffering to,but i refused to be told hk changed me,your ex gf changed because she was overwhelmed with what Hk has to offer her bar ,hopping in wanchai isn't advisable and hongkong is full of temptation...my opinion is we all are entitled to mess up with our lives dont we?

I agree with you 100%. One bad apple doesn't spoil the whole bunch. Not only did I meet Lorena while there in Hong Kong, I also met her cousin and 3 very good friends and you couldn't ask for a sweeter bunch of girls.

So your gf must be a nice girl, and processing for K1 in HK seems to be a lot easier than in PI..Good luck!

    Mj

Oh I couldn't ask for a sweeter girl than Lorena. I really have never loved someone as much as I love her. Oh and yes I have heard things go smoother there in HK for the K1. My friend here in Oklahoma is pinay and came from HK on a K1. She said it only took her about 6 months and she had a few paper work issues to deal with along the way. And thanks a bunch...and good luck to you as well..;-)

Well that may be true in some cases but not all. I know Lorena can't wait to be here with me. Of course she wasn't raised in the city...she is a girl from the provence even though she lives and works in HK. She is doing that to help her family because the money is so much better there.

  8. new guy here wanting to meet and talk with others who have a filipina fiancee who works and lives in hong kong

I'd be one of those people. My fiancee is pinay and lives and works in Hong Kong. There are a lot of filipina that live and work there. If you have a fiancee thats filipina you are one lucky man.....I know I am. Oh and I also have a filipina friend here in Oklahoma that has only been here since March of this year and she lived and worked in Hong Kong as well...she has been a good source of information about what Lorena and I need to do for all the paper work. Good luck on your journey.
