  1. Why didn't you get all the docs before filing for K1. It clearly says in instructions what you need. NOw , you are just wasting your and other people's time. You could have gotten all the affadvaits that you can not meet in person before filing. Can you explain why u didn't do that before filing???????? I think even though USCIS approves your case, it could cause more problems at embassy level because they know that unless you are coming from a very very conservative and religious family, it is normal nowadays to meet in person and parents do allow that in India.

There are people from all over the world and from all different kinds of cultures here at VJ. If you didn't want your time wasted you really didn't need to take the time to respond. The OP didn't ask for personal opinions or judgements.

I think we can all stand a little human decency. ;)

OP, I think i've seen a couple of cases approved for this reason but, as stated above, I believe you must present a very strong case for 'cultural reasons'. good luck.

My time was already wasted when I was reading the first post and by the way, I am not judging him. we all make mistakes. All i am saying is that he had enough time and information to gather all the documents. Just making the above statement, you are judging me too!!!!!!!!! Now don't respond to me that I am wasting my time again. It is my time ok!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am also from a country where in some families, they do not allow u to meet before marriage, so I know where is he coming from. But in India, it is very common nowadays to meet in person and the people in embassy know that. He needs to get those docs and mail it to them.

And my advice is that even the USCIS deny your case, file the appeal, I-290b, with ALL THE REQUIRED PROOFS AND DOCUMENTS AND THEY WILL most likely approve your K1, but be ready for the interview because they will need explanation. Good luck!!!

  3. There were two recent Vermont approvals within 4-6 weeks. One was from India and the other was from Morooco. I think it is all about luck, but I think that they do some sorts of Name check and common names from some countries can cause many hits, which I believe take time to resolve. I wish threre would be a way to find out about this whole system!!! Good luck to all of us!!!!
  4. I'm sure this question's been asked a million times, we have filed our I-130 and I'm curious, how do they know that we're eventually aspiring toward a CR-1 Visa?

In the cover letter, we said: Enclosed are the contents for a I-130, resulting in the eventual obtaining of a CR-1 visa.

So, assuming they read that, or whatever, how else do they know? Just by how we follow procedure? By what kind of documents we submit and

    in what order?

Just curious. Also, would be nice if it were all in one conclusive package labelled CR-1 Visa stuff!

    ;)

    Thanks for your answers.

If you are married for less than 2 years , its CR1(Conditional residence), more than two years is IR1. Got it!!!

  5. Folks, I think she ran away!!! I am mad too!! But I am not gonna say anything because she is not here anymore. offcourse, there are people like her all over the world. I hope she realizes what is she doing with these men's lives. But, I also doubt because i do not think that a person like her would change. Good luck to all of us here who are sincere and honest in their relationships!!
  6. It was an example of when they give you a USPS address they mean USPS:

When they give you a commercial courier or express delivery address they mean just that... NON USPS commercial services because they (private commercial delivery services) CANNOT deliver to a USPS address

Another person here gave me the same information that she sent it to the regular Address and NOT the express/courier delievery address and it went ok. However, I called USCIS twice and one person even put me on hold for five minutes because she wanted to double check with her supervisor and they told me that I have to use the express/courier delievery address, so I am very confused. Anyway, thanks for your help!!!!!

  7. From the instructions (not sure how much more clear it need be):

For US Postal Service (USPS) deliveries:

    USCIS

    PO Box 805887

    Chicago, IL 60680-4120

Why are you giviing wrong information?? Nowhere in the instructions they say that this address is for

For US Postal Service (USPS) deliveries!!!!!!!!! And that is why was i am confused! This is what instructions say

  14. hi everyone!!

Thanks for starting this thread! I am in the same boat. I am actually waiting for documents from my spouse, like G325A. I will hopefully file my I-130 next week. Could you tell me that do I need a copy of my spouse's birth certificate in order to file I-130. They did not ask anything in the instructions. I know they used to require that before, but I think now, you only need that at NVC level. Good luck to all of us!!!!! please keep this thread alive. We all should keep in touch!! Thanks again!!!!

  15. You can file for K3, but my personal suggestion is that you should go for CR1/IR1 instead of K3. Why??? Because 1) CSC is very fast and you should be approved within 6 months 2) Before Feb 2008, NVC was doing Document processing for CR1/IR1, that meant that US embassy in Islamabad was sceduling interviews in Pakistan and it was taking 6 months or more after the file went from NVC, BUT NOW, NVC is sceduling interviews here and it is taking only two months, so if u file for K3, it is going to take almost the same time

    3) K3 is hectic and expensive because you have to go through AOS process here in the US

    Good luck!!

  16. K, that sounds like alot, not to sound lazy but for him to take off work and go to the consulate? I think I shud just forget abt it... :(

I have reserached alot about this topic. First, I have my two cousins from Pakistan and they filed single and they did not have any problem at NVC and at embassy. I had three different accountans in the past seven years and they told me the same thing. Also, there are some people here in the pakistani forum(Calling Islamabad embassy) and they told me the same thing that they filed single and their wives go visas. I am also going to file single, so why should you go for all this hassale, but if you still wanna do it, you know what to do!! Good luck!!
