on your DS-160 they should have indicated they are traveling togeather.

While they are scheduling the interview they have to book one slot and both could interview togeather at same time.

For more details you might have to check how it is done in Iran and Consulate there as this process varies from country to country.

Unfortunately, the consulates around Iran generally won't allow several people going to the interview with only one appointment. You have to make an appointment for each of them individually. And as you are probably aware of the frustrating process of scheduling an appointment for Iranians, the possibility of getting the appointments for the same slot is low (but possible). However, this varies for each consulate. You have to check with them to see whether they allow it or not(most of them answer their emails in 2-3 business days). I'm sure you know that most of the travel agencies in Iran will schedule appointments for a fee and most of the time they manage to schedule them for the same time. But since their prices for this service are really unfair, I would recommend doing it on your own. The best thing you can do is emailing the consulates and see what they can do for you. But if you read their websites, they clearly indicate that you have to make separate appointments for each of them.

I am planning to invite my brother in law with his wife to visit us here in the US. As per instructions I have filled out 2 DS-160 forms (one for each). Now, do I need to set up 2 interview appointments or just one for both? Your help is appreciated.

I sent my package on 03/08 , and they received it on 03/09 (GC expires 06/08). I got the package back due to early submission. I mis-calculated the date. However, to return the package for one day is utterly inconsiderate. I got the package on 03/14 (lost 4 bus. Days) and sent it again same day.

The I-134 is not needed for your MIL to qualify for a visitor visa. It will help show how she plans to pay for her trip.

While an invitation letter and I-134 may be helpful to your MIL. She will need to qualify for the visa based on her ties to her home. Every foreign national is presumed to have the intent to immigrate to the US. She will need to present evidence that she has strong ties to her home that would indicate she is not a risk to overstay her visa. The US government will not accept assurance from a US person because there is no way for the US person to force a person on a plane to go home.

Switzerland used to accept visa-free travel to Green Card holders, but since becoming a member of the Schengen Agreement states recently, it probably can't do so anymore.

Usually it is easier to get a tourist visa once you're a Permanent Resident, however it also depends on your country of origin. I traveled to Europe when I had my green card and getting a visa was not particularly hard, keeping in mind that my country of origin's passport is not a 'good' candidate to receive visas !

This is what it says on the I-485 Instructions:

Translations. Any document containing foreign language submitted to the Service shall be accompanied by a full English language translation which the translator has certified as complete and accurate, and by the translator's certification that he or she is competent to translate from the foreignlanguage into English.

Don't send the USCIS anything original unless they specifically ask for it

I've received the marriage certificate. Should I send the original with the AOS package or just copies?

I've also have a translated birth certificate that was translated back home with Judiciary stamp on it (I used an exact replica for K-1 visa package), should I send a copy of the original or the actual one?
