hello all!

i had a quick question. i got my green card 6 months ago or so. we moved last weekend and (obviously) that changed our street address, but our mailing address is the same. do i have to do an update on my file or something like that???

thanks for all your support through out this experience. for all the newbies i just want to say: patience you will get there!!

now, what i have for the interview is:

1. I129 package

2. passport + I94

3. all notifications from the ead and aos

4. copies of house lease, car insurance, bank account, joint tax return.

5. pictures of our wedding.

what else do i need? am i forgeting something? does my husband needs another letter from employer saying he is still employed? (last one we sent was in the affidavit and was from january).

the question is: are you changing your name? i havent .... i might in the future but i dont think so.

i got my social sec. number and my ead under MY name (not married name since i havent changed it) and i planned on getting my green card (interview this wed. 19th!!!) with my old name too.

so i think it is basically up to you.

in this employment eligibility verification they are asking me if i am:

a. citizen of usa (obviously not)

b. lawful permanent resident (not yet but i will, right?)

c. alien authorized to work (i guess this is it but not sure)

i just got my ead, but i dont have my green card yet ... so what am i?

Hi everyone

so i got my AOS interview letter today! it will be on april 19th and in the letter there is a list of papers i need to bring and one of them is a copy of my J1 visa ... do u think it is a mistake? that they meant K1? i did have a couple of J1s before, but why would they want to see it now?

anyway, if somebody knows let ME know.

i decided to send my resume around anyway last week and on friday i got my ead approved (got an email) and also got another email from this company i really want to work with, for an interview on monday!!!

dont worry it take a bit of time sometimes. i got my ead and aos noa1 feb 1st and i couldnt see my cases online till today.

i took my biometrics today and everything went fine and it was faster than i thought it was going to be. i asked the lady that was there how long would it be till i get my ead in the mail. she said in a very official voice: we cant give you any time frame. so pls if any of you have applied to VT for ur EAD tell me how long did it take???????????

so, i got to my house on wednesday after a day of running errands and my neighbor met me in our driveway to give me my bio appt letter that he had by mistake. i was very happy until i saw the date in the letter: weds. 15th at 8 am .... it was already 3pm!!!! i was about to cry. called hubby to work and he went online and gave me a couple of numbers i could called. i called like 4 time trying to talk to an actual person instead of listening all those awful menus in the 1 800 number.

i finally talked to a person and i told her what had happened and she made me read my whole letter and then told me to send a letter to my local USCIS explaining what happened, put my A# and application number and send that with a copy of all my noas received to date ... i did ... but it seems way to easy, somebody went thru this b4????

now im just waiting and see if they are actually going to send something again to my neighbor by mistake. how long would this take u know??? is there anywhere online that i can check if they got my letter or that will post my new interview letter???
