  1. Hey guys, this is what shpat wanted to pass along :

"First of all I'd like to thank VJ forum members for all the help and strong hopes that got us through this process. My wife passed the interview today on January 20th, will go pick up her visa on thursday.

    just a small msg.."

Hey Ilya, Im so happy things went well. I've been wondering how you are and how things went. Glad to hear its nothing but FANTASTIC NEWS.

CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN, MY BEST WISHES TO YOU BOTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. do i have to label my evidences such as...this is my life insurance for my husband, copy of money transfer i sent to my husband, copy of our son;s birth certifcate, pictures of me and my husband together? or just list them down in the cover letter and put them in that order?

I think its a good idea, use index cards or post it stickie papers. Makes it easier for the officer when sorting thru your petition. But also do a complete cover sheet, look at the example forms in this website. Best of luck on your journey.

  3. Please, lets try not to stereotype.

There are plenty of very real and very loving relationships even from higher fraud posts. ;)

Talking of stereotypes, I've seen plenty Rednecks since I've been here

    What's a redneck

here ya go examples of rednecks:

    [080512-redneck-vmed-1130a.widec.jpg

rednecks are beer drinking hunters who watch nascar (car races) and love country music or rock

they yell YEEEEEHA a lot and have mullet haircuts..(not all beer drinking hunters or nascar watchers are rednecks but most are:))

now rednecks come from all regions and countries, NEVER hold a cheap beer or a gun near them as they will start to drool

    :whistle::thumbs::dance:

    OMG!!!!!!!!

Good luck with your journey , your not alone in the "waiting game"

  10. Tell him to go to walmart or walgreens..they have us to us long distance cards

he can dial the 800# on the card, then enter the code then make his call...it will be toll free from his landline

    i hope that helps :)

Y habibitk is correct. Go to Walgreens or better yet Wal-Mart, both stores have a nice selection of calling cards and are reasonalby priced.

He can get a card for as cheap as $10.00 and will last a while.

  11. I hope to be a December 2008 filer as well, going over paperwork making sure I didn't miss anything before I send it in.

I guess I am so nervous that I am over thinking every little detail, I am not even certain I spelled my own name correctly on the documents anymore, that's how nervous I am :)

Hey, am I reading this right, if I live in Texas and I am using FedEx or UPS overnight shipping, then I should send my I-130 to this address:

    USCIS Lockbox

    Attn: SAI-130

    131 South Dearborn – 3rd Floor

    Chicago, IL 60603-5517

    Correct?

Looking to befriending many of you as we go through this long and painful process together

    Best regards,

    Lejla

Your are correct Lejla, and I re-checked my address I sent to, I did put the correct one. Thank God. For some reason I went brainless and thought I put the wrong address, that is NOT the way to start on this long, grueling process.

Good luck on your journey. We will go thru this journey and survive it.

  13. I would never enjoy Christmas this time as my husbie is not with me. :crying: Hearing christmas carols everytime brings tears to my eyes. Feeling so lonely without him. :(

There are alot of us who understand your feelings. I wish I delayed my visit to see my husband, and been there for Christmas. But again this year we will use the web camera to see each other on Christmas and New Years Eve.

Maybe knowing we will be with our loved ones next year for Christmas will help our aching heart this Christmas. Remember, your never alone or far from your loved ones, they are always in your heart .

    Merry Christmas.

  14. Hello

I'm a newlywed and my husband is having a hard time at a military school right now. I'm visiting, living with him on the base. I'd like to help him relax and not stress him out. How can i help him/support him through this?

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Caroline

Hi, I may not be a military wife, but still Im a wife. Dont talk about this USCIS process, be positive, just ENJOY the time together. It will all work itself out. Just enjoy your time, being together is the MOST important thing right now.

Not talking about this process made my time with my husband together just several days ago much more enjoyable.

Take lots of pics together now, you will be glad to have them when you leave for home until this is all over.

Thanks for your support it all makes sense the way you put it..! It seems i left my common sense in France!

No Honey, you left your heart in France, just as I did several days ago when I kissed my husband good bye for the last time this year.

  15. I already spent Christmas without my husband for 2 years. this year will be different. hes coming to visit. is his first year as eastern orthodox, so he said hell spend it here. last year he spent it home at his parents, and came here for New Years. for us, those who r the ones to immigrate, Christmas and holidays in general will always be a difficult time. last year i missed my husband, next year ill probably be with him and miss my family...so, even if he'll leave alone after it, and Ill still be here waiting, this year Christmas is somehow a bless for me. Ill have him and my family. having yr 2 families on 2 different continents isnt easy, and we all knew what we r getting through from the beginning. at least this year is easy. there is no other way to be together but him coming. as i see it, for the rest of our lives will be difficult. christmas is only one, and well always have to decide we visit his family or mine.

merry christmas to everyone, and long live the skype. is how we spent last christmas. with laptops and webcams on the whole time, i saw his family, he saw mine, i had a place at their table, he had a place at mine, they had a gift for me there, we had a gift for him here, sometimes we listened their music, sometimes they listened ours, and so on...we just couldnt taste eachother's food and drinks (and me and my husband couldnt taste eachother, but pretended to kiss under mistletoe)

Its going to be a wonderful Christmas for you this year.

I loved you sharing your posting of Christmas pasts, with gifts and missle toe, it was lovely.

    Merry Christmas

  17. When we started this process, I was telling all of my family that he should be here for christmas.. :( not so much.

Not that he celebrates Christmas..but I do and I want my husband for christmas waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

ok, Im done. He'll be here soon and we will have the rest of our lives to celebrate holidays :trying to stay positive this week:

I thought of something, for all of us alone at Christmas, my husband and myself, the past 2 New Years have celebrated our New Years Eve via the web camera, he is 7 hours ahead of me so, I made sure I was at hoome at his midnight, and he made sure he was awake when 12 came here in the USA, so maybe for Christmas all of us, especially the ones with kids can use web cameras. Having a dad see his kids open their gifts Christmas morning would be great, he or she may not be there physically, but can have some Christmas joy seeing their kids open their gifts and seeing them on Christmas day.

Its a thought to ponder on.

Merry Christmas to all of us.

    We have 7 hours also.

    Thats a sweet idea really.

    Merry Christmas :)

Thanks , it truly helps me when I chat with my husband via web camera, not the same as sitting next to him, but comes in 2nd place.

    Happy Holidays!!

Ya, we would die w/o the cam! lol

We did try the "live" show once and my husband watched my son and i play games... he loved it. lol

maybe if my husband isnt working too late on christmas we can save one gift for him(my son) to open on cam. :D

That would be precious!!!!!!! Hear is another thought , maybe appoint a time when you both can do the web camera and have a "mini Christmas"

    or do it Christmas Eve.

  19. Thank you for your response, my fellow Texan.

You know, right after I wrote the "believe" part, I thought I should advise my family to use words that are more statement-like, and avoid words such as believe, think, etc.

Alright, I am feeling a little better about this now :) Thank you.

C'mon guys, keep the feedback coming, I am so nervous I am shaking thinking about putting all these documents in an envelope and FINALLY sending it in. Sometimes I tend to over think things:) so all your advice is greatly appreciated.

    Lejla

Your going to be fine when you put all those docs in a envelope, and when you send it off, you will breath again.

Best of luck to you in your journey.

  21. Seasons Greeting!!! This is a jolly good time of the year...even though we are apart from our spouses and oh boy I know it breaking all of our hearts. I do hope each and everyone of us find a little bit of happiness this season. As ynatots rightfully said 2009 Xmas will bring us all new challenges and an entirely different kind of joy.

I have never spent a Christmas with my husband, I have only spent his birthday with him on Dec. 6th when I was in Paris, and in July 2007 I spent Bastille day with him, "Its the French 4th of July"

Anyways, next christmas will be splended for all of us, we can always start planning next Christmas now. Happy holidays, and rememeber, your never alone or far from your loved ones, they live in our heart everyday, every minute. Next year we will ALL be home for Christmas.

    God Bless and Happy Holidays.
