  1. Could anybody please so kind to let me know that when I got EAD card in my hand can I begin to apply for a job yet? I heard something that we need to update the SSN at the USCIS local office but I dont know is that for when we get the green card or EAD. After nearly 4 months stay at home I begin to feel boring...Thanks in advance!

    Huong

AFAIK, you can apply for jobs and legally work now that you have an EAD card. If you want, you can apply for a new SS card without "Not Valid For Work Without DHS Authorization" on it, but I don't think you have to do this since your EAD card is your authorization to work from DHS.

Okei, I got it. Thank you so much for your kind help! Have a good day August Folks

  2. Hallo Everybody,

Today I ve received a transfer notice from USCIS that my case has been transferred to California Service Center. Could anybody please so kind to let me know what is that meant because I am currently leaving in New Jersey. Let say later I have appointment for interview so we will have to fly to California for interview? that is too far for us....

Thank you for your kindness and prompt reply

  3. Hi Bigbubble,

OOh, thank you for your patience to explain me. For us we will wait the appointment date Oct08th. Last nite I asked my husband when he came home from work how far from our house to the USCIS and he said just 45 minutes. So that is fine, he will take a day off to take me there.

I wish you and me best of luck!

    have a great day!

    Huong,

A "walk-in" is when you go to do your biometrics before your appointment scheduled date. I have read that it accelerates the process although I am not sure. Some of the offices don´t allow it, I guess it depends on how busy the office is. But I just don´t feel like waiting till Oct 8th!!

  4. Congratulations Huong!

We have the appointment for the same day ! :)

Are you going to do an early walk-in??

I am not sure since the USCIS is like 2 hours away from where I live and I am not sure if the allow it!!

    Hi Bigbubble and Richa,

Thank a lots for you guys congratulations for me.

I am sorry I dont know what an early walk-in meants...could you pls so kind to explain for me?

Am living in New Jersey, and the USCIS Newark also around 2 hrs driving from our house, my husband will have to take one day off...

    Thank you!

  5. Hallo Bigbubble and Richa,

Good news is that I ve got Biometrics Appointment letter...so happy. May be Richa will get it tomorrow or this week, sometimes the post office is slow...

So funny that if any day I open the mailbox, will be nothing for me but if my husband opens it will have something for me...yesterday I opened the mail box and nothing and I told my husband to open it today. This lunch time he passed by to say hello because he went to dentist from work at lunchtime and he opened the mailbox in front of the house and give this letter for me. Same as for my SSN last time he is the one who get it...When I stay at home all day and easy for me to open the mailbox right in front of our house but I dont open it when I am expecting my papers ;-)))

    Huong

  7. Congratulations to Bigbubble and Richa! I ve got mine 2 NOA for I-485 and I-765 too. So happy for all of us! same day!

By the way, i read somewhere is that USCIS will give us a tracking number so that we can track at their website about our status when they "touched" or when we can get EAD..or may be i am wrong because I did not see any case number/tracking number at the NOA today at all...

    Have a nice evening,

    Huong

First Congratulations :thumbs: on your NOAs...

Now You must have a receipt no . That receipt no is your case no. You can create an account on uscis web-site https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp and add all your cases on your portfolio. Then you can keep checking them  Obsessively like me (everyday) or at your own sweet time  . You can also have them email you when they do something with your case.

    Hi Rahulv,

I would like to thank you so much for your kindness, I ve done as you did at the USCIS website for an account and add all my cases on my portfolio, then i will be obsessively check them every minute then.

    Have a nice weekend,

    Huong

  8. Congratulations to Bigbubble and Richa! I ve got mine 2 NOA for I-485 and I-765 too. So happy for all of us! same day!

  9. Hi Bubble,

Thank you so much for your prompt reply. We both sent the package AOS same day. that's cool. Pls update when you get NOA too...

By the way, how can you check your money fee is cashed out by USCIS, because we sent by money order by USPS express mail is there anyway for me to check if USCIS cashed out the money...

    Thank you kindly,

    Huong

    Hi Huong,

I sent the paperwork the same day as you did and I still didnt receive the NOA either...but I don´t think we need to worry yet as I saw some other timelines where they waited 10-12 days to get it. I am expecting to get it this week though, if not I will start to panic :)

  10. Hi Haole,

We ve sent AOS Saturday last week 08/29/2009 and in the package i sent the I-693 sealed in an envelope with the signature of the designated civil surgeon and DS-3025 . Could you please so kind to let me know am I right to put also the DS-3025 with the form I-693 because I heard some of people said that we dont need to send DS-3025 along with I-693. I just fear in case USCIS doesnt need DS-3025 may be they will take longer time to process our papers for greencard....

thanks so much for your kindness,

    Huong

    Thanks

First off she should have a DS 3025 vaccination record from her immigration medical.

Second the I-693a is no longer used or valid.

Third she needs to have a USCIS designated civil surgeon fill out the I-693.

Dr Arnold in Taxas does the I-693 trip for $30 by mail. Takes about a week.

  11. Matthew, your fiance first name is HuongGiang, not Huong.

    CONGRATULATION.

I wanted to call her but I know that you are on honeymoon, I don't want to bother both of you. I will move to Florida on beginning of July.

Sorry but I think I know a little more about my fiance than you do, but thanks and take care.
