Hi,

I'm in a bit of trouble.

I filed N-400 on January 5 to Dallas Office, received NOA on January 9th. Since I had lost Green Card, I also filed I-90 around January 7th. I have not received biometrics appointment yet. I see that people have been getting biometrics appt in 2 weeks.

Should I be concerned ? would my application be delayed due to lost green card ?

I haven't filed my return yet, does my wife need to take 2008 tax transcript/return to VFS or Mumbai consulate ?

my wife is planning to submit documents at Ahmedabad VFS office. After her interview at Mumbai consulate, will she be able to pick up visa from Mumbai VFS?

I'm confused, maybe she should submit documents to Mumbai VFS ?

My wife's interview is on March 25, 2009. She'll soon go to Ahmedabad to get medical and submit documents at VFS office. Has anyone done this at Ahmedabad ? would be great to know how the experience was.

here is my update. i checked the online payment system at about 8 AM this morning. the AOS fee bill shows as paid and the IV shows as not paid. but when i click on the receipt page they both show as paid and i have the ability of printing the barcode sheets, which obviously i did. i checked my bank account and it shows that they took out the money (amazing how they took just about 12 hrs to take the payment). i called two operators. the first told me to wait until both say paid and then send the packages. the second one confirmed that they had just generated my IV fee bill today and that they had recieved my $400 and $70 and that the payment was still pending.

therefore, i think i should be fine. i still have to make photocopies of my package so I will just mail everything tomorrow. this will give NVC enough time to sort their mess out.

I would suggest don't mail DS-230 until it shows PAID on both screens. I had exactly same problem but I mailed DS-230 anyways (Dec. 17), status became PAID on Dec. 22 on both screens. My DS-230 is still not reviewed.

Yes I paid online Dec. 11, took them 12 todays to acknowledge PAID on both screens. but they received DS-230 on Dec. 17- i think they put it on hold since payment wasn't reflecting PAID in their systems at that time. Now I'm stuck, 4 weeks since they got my DS-230 still in review

NVC operator said "Final Review". does that mean your DS-230 is reviewed ?

Yeah my checklist was received on Dec. 17. I'm still waiting....

This is very unusual why its taking way too long time.

When I called last week (Thurs), NVC operator told me she'll have a supervisor review it.

My case was completed Dec.30, 2008 and my daughter's case Dec. 29, 2008. But no inteview sched yet.

When did you send in DS-230 ? Did you get a letter in mail or found out thru NVC's Automated Voice system ?

I sent in my DS-230 on Dec. 15 (scanned in NVC system on Dec. 17) but no news so far.

My DS-230 was received by NVC on Dec. 17, 2008, its still under review. Are reviews taking longer ? (because of Christmas holidays)

Anyone got Case complete in last 2 weeks ?

Anyone who is reading this - DON'T PAY THE BILL ON THE WEBSITE IN ADVANCE. WAIT UNTIL THE INVOICE IS GENERATED.

Voice system currently says "We received checklist letter response on Dec. 17, we're currently reviewing the information ... "

- NO Update on voice system or online

- I got my checklist letter last week, saying I'm missing "DS-230" (it didn't say anything about missing IV fee). I had sent DS-230 same day.

My DS-230 was entered in NVC system on Dec. 17, 2008.

Calling out to people whose cases were completed in recently (Dec.)

1) How long will it take to complete the case ?

2) What's the usual cutoff date to get February interview Date (Mumbai Embassy)

(Is interview date assigned right after case complete ?)

An Update. Called today 12/22.

NVC Rep tells me on Dec. 19 - "the request was sent to proper department for review". whatever that means. But at least some progress!

Yeah, I talked to something like 15 different operators, All of them said 10-15 business days which was worrying. But again they always tend to overestimate response time.

I am guessing they're getting flood of these problem requests (because these days everyone tries to pay online). They seem to have manual review process for overriding paid status. so this would translate into longer time.

I'll post here once my issue clears up.
