Whoa CnT, you were busy this weekend! I am soooo jealous of the hot weather. It has been chilly and raining since Diego got here. Tomorrow we leave really early to go down to PA, and then fly down to Miami on Wed. morning. We're helping a friend move from Miami to Baltimore, so we'll be doing that fun drive over the weekend.

BTW- happy dance b/c I finally got back my tax refund today. I am soooo glad I realized I could file 'married filing jointly' thanks to VJ.

Good morning everyone

Feeling sleepy and groggy today. Don't know how I got to work. Had one of my "cocktails" last night. We put our furniture back in to the living room. Everything looks nice but now the end tables don't match. I am going to have to do something with those. We also gave up on cleaning the carpets. We're going to look at prices for stone tiles. My husband and I both came to the conclusion that it's a better investment than carpeting. We want a light color on the floor, but our white carpet in the house is already destroyed after 6 years. So we decided to do away with carpeting all together.

Question for you about your spouses and driving...I lose my patience every time husband drives. I'm like, "You're the worst driver in the whole world!!!" and get like with him. Poor thing. I am wondering if you are having the same problems? The irritating thing is that my husband finds a way to blame everyone (mostly me) but not himself for his mistakes. It's like he won't just confess to not paying attention and not listening to directions. I totally lost it with him yesterday and now he won't drive with me in the car I don't know what to do! I tried to sit with him in our driveway, explain directions before hand and then leave (hoping that if he listens before he starts driving he will pay more attention)...but that doesn't work. I will tell him at a previous exit "take the next exit that is coming up" and he'll be approaching and I will say, "Turn here. Right into here..." and he keeps going straight. Then I'm like, "What are you doing???? I told you take this exit!" Then he'll say, "Oh, I didn't know, you didn't tell me till late." Then I just wanna kill him when he drives!!!

hahaha CNT I am picturing this lol Hubby is only allowed to take my car for a spin around the parking lot of our development. He is dying to drive...me not so much! I am picturing myself going nuts just like u with him behind the driver's seat. In Lebanon they drive 2-3 cars per lane, they cross lines and don't believe in traffic lights

Seren, welcome to the US in advance We have a huge BBQ planned for Sunday for my bday/welcoming hubby to America so i am super excited. It will be a day of relaxing and mingling with close to 20 ppl in the backyard then splashing in the pool! Hope those storms hold off till nite time!

Laptop is dying so I'll be quick. Turns out I was able to set the appt. Monday morning and they gave us this Wednesday. Crazy!!!! So I bought a ticket and left for CR on Tuesday. We spent 5 hours at the embasssy for a 3 minute interview... DIEGO GOT APPROVED!!!!!!!!!

We are planning on coming home on Tuesday! I can't even believe it. Everything happened so fast in the end. We're going to the embassy momentarily to pick up the visa.

I haven't posted for a while but I do think this site is such a fantastic resource...it makes you feel not alone when everyone else around you thinks you've gone slightly mad

Me and my boy will have been engaged for a year next month...we almost filed last year, but hit some problems between us that we needed to sort out. Now we're back on track and if it stays that way we'll be filing at the end of the year

The funniest thing is, I've actually lived where he does (Orlando) for 9 months in the past and I know I love it there, but it still scares me witless!! I think it's the idea of leaving behind my family - who I'm used to having an hour down the road - and all my friends who know me inside out, and starting over again. I love my other half to death but that doesn't stop me being rather frightened!! Can someone else tell me that's normal please?! It'll make me feel better!!

So we will barely have time to breathe b4 the whole family comes knocking Just kidding I love family time, but wish hubby had more time to settle down and more us time U know wt I mean.... I want to apologize in advance for not being visible over the next few days as I will be so busy with hubby and family/ bday preparations, shopping, cleaning The list is endless....

Hey, and K.D., yes, just 18 more days for the both of us!!! I'm hanging in and hope you are too. Home stretch for us. Although I'm so so happy for GS, I'm kind of envious too. But I know we will all get there soon, so the hope is still there!!! All part of the journey, I guess. Keeping the faith!!!!!

Yes I know =P It's totally normal to feel envious, I watched so many ppl get approved way faster than we have (it took 230 days for us and 309 days total to be reunited) but b4 u know it, the day will finally be here for u as well. I still can't believe hubby will be with me in less than 2 days. I mean we waited so long it now feels surreal. But I can't complain about the wait, at least he is entering with CR1 and I am thankful for that. I am also thankful our AP was relatively short lived. I know others had it a lot worse than me. Like u, I had to constanly remind myself of the importance of keeping the faith, even during those dark times when hubby and I hit rock bottom. But we now emerge from all of this with a stronger relationship that has weathered many a storm.

I agree that taking albums and oversized items is not a good idea. Hubby took so much stuff and they didn't even allow him to carry it inside. He had to leave most things like my diaries, a scrapbook box/memory album I had made him at the cafeteria. Besides most interviews are conducted in such a way that there is a glass window separating u from the CO. I know it's a pain, but try to take the photos out of the albums so u can slide them easily under the glass window as need be.

Champi, great update! I am excited to hear ur news and yessssssss I feel like jumping up and down! Finally the rush of good mood and endorphines is back after such a stressful and longgggggggg journey!! My health is back and most importantly the laughter in my voice, real good old fashioned true laughter if u know wt I mean..

As for the XY&Zs...they are never over lol For us it's first let's make sure the visa is in hand and it's correct then let's hope there is still availabilty for Friday or Saturday so he can be here for my BDay BBQ on Sunday

Way to go Eca Y Bubu and K.D. Hubby only got one vaccine which I thought was weird. I guess it varies from country to country?? He said doc told him it contains a bunch of stuff. I found that strange but then again I am not in the medical field, so what do I know lol

Last weekend for me without hubby!! So excited! I can't believe it's the final weekend...wished for this a long time ago! 300 days ago specifically since we filed our I 130. Today marks day 300 ..wow what a long journey it's been!!

yesterday, we received the letter (snail mail), but we already got it through email and finished the medical exam. should i still bring that letter they sent? or the printed letter from email which was marked from my medical interview?

If u are talking about the interview letter then I suggest u bring both. Better to be over prepared than not to be Hubby took hundreds of photos to the interview for instance and CO only wanted to see two!! He brought chat logs, phone records, emails, etc and CO didn't want to c any. Still we say it's better he went overprepared than not. U never know!

GS, do i need to bring the passport of my husband with me?? or no need since the USEM has it already

Jiskat, if u r the USC then no need for urs. I sent hubby color copy of my passport biographical page just in case but they didn't even ask for any of my documents. Only the benficiaries. Check ur NVC appointment letter as it will list all the docs beneficiary needs to bring to the interview. Good luck!

I can't believe it's ALMOST over...

The interview was EASY and PAINLESS the CO did not ask for any proof / docs/ photos....

I was asked 5 questions: How did you meet, when was the last time you saw each other, where does your husbamnd live, where does he work and when did you get married.

The Co then advised me that the Visa has been issued and I could pick it up from VFS later this evening.

Strange thing she did not even ask me for the DS 230 Part 2...I only realised once I left the consulate
