  1. Well, it depends on how many months before her visa can expire. Sometime, a visa is for 3 or 6 before it expires. So, after the interview, she will probably have up to 3 or 6 months to travel before her visa can expire. I think it is ordered at the end of the interview if it is successful. Or she can always go and finish up her degree. My cousin did that before...she came, got her green card and we back home for her graduation ceremony. Now,she's back in the states with her degree.

Yeah thats what she will be doing. Should only take 4 months but who knows sometimes.

    Thank you.

  2. Im trying to find the correct answer. My wife will have a 2 year green card soon. She needs to go home to Thailand to finish her studies. How long can she be outside of the country? She has a US Bank Account, Address, and other payments (cellphone). I read that someone can be 6 months and apply for an extension to be up to a year, but is this true with a 2 year green card?

    Thank you for any info.

  3. Yeah - you can't change those documents like that - there "official" and you can't make changes to them (would actually invalidate them if submitted with your changes, however slight)

That is why they are secured - so someone can't make unauthorized changes.

However, you could contact USCIS and inquire about making something like that for them.

Guessing Ill just use a different way. It seems weird they dont allow font sizes to be changed. I have seen some of those documents filled in with a type writer, like that old thing your grandma used.

  4. Hey guys,

All these pdf files are secured, anyone know why? Arnt these supposed to be public documents? Does anyone know any non malware loaded software to remove these restrictions? I was going to create a questionare in Thai (translated by my Wife) which would ask all the basic K-1/AOS questions then would auto fill in all the forums needed for K-1/AOS. Im pretty sure those 1,000$ K-1/AOS services do this and would be pretty neat to have something FREE to do this for people.

    Thnx

  5. Hello,

    Dec 26th: We got Married.

Dec 28th: We applied for SSN

Dec 29th: We will send AOS.

I read you can write "Pending" in the SSN field for the AOS, is this true? My idea was to attach a copy of the form we applied for a SSN for a supporting document on the pending field for the SSN.

Also, the K-1 visa expires on January 14th. Would it be a better idea to wait for the SSN to come then send in the AOS with the written SSN on all the documents? Anyone have any experience of this?

    Thank you,

    Rick

  6. CDRRCk24-- In order to find out if NVC as received your case this is what you have to do:

    - Call 603-334-0700 (Yes, lines may be busy, please keep redialing until you get through)

    - Press 1 and then press 5 TO SPEAK TO A LIVE PERSON, it is important that you speak to a live person.

Then you give them your NOA #1 Receipt # for your i129F petition. IF your case is received, he/she will verify the beneficiary & petitioner's name and date of birth.

You will then be given a new case #, starting with the embassy initial. You use that case number from here on.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Awesome thank you, it has not been received yet but I will call next week. Rick

  7. I just want to send a congrats to everyone so far and best wishes to those that are still waiting. I can understand how frustrating it can be to see others get their NOA2. But when you get it, the wait didn't really seam that long and after that it is all down hill and moves pretty quick from there.

How did you know NVC got it and it left NVC? I called NVC and they said they cant tell me, I have to wait 4 weeks.

  8. Today is Sunday June 21st 2009. at 12:30 Pacific Time I received an email from USCIS stating that my K-1 has been approved (YEAH!!!).

I DIDNT expect to get this in the email on a Sunday???

    Rick

I had the same thing. Congrats!! They have contractors that work on Sundays. I had to call months and months later to tell them to send my NOA2 but hopefully you will not have this problem.

It said it was mailed on the 19th, but was surprised.
